Journey To Become an Insanely Pampered Wife

Chapter 92: Compensation For Devil Flowers

Chapter 92: Compensation For Devil Flowers

"I think I should go and take a look just to be sure." Xiang Ling said for the third time when she once again heard Little Pink shrieking inside the space. That little creature had been creating so much noise for a while now.

Much to her dismay, Dao Ming wrapped his arm around her to stop her from entering the space. "I told you there’s no need for that."

Xiang Ling let out a frustrated sigh and turned her head to glare at the man. "You just threw that giant inside my space and you are telling me not to worry? What if by the time I will return in there, I will no longer have a space left?"

In response to her panic, the man just chuckled before he used one of his hands to pat her head, a gesture that silenced Xiang Ling completely. "I promise that no such thing will happen. The White Lion will not cause you any trouble." He sounded so sure that Xiang Ling couldn’t find any word to question him further.

"If you both are done talking nonsense, how about we return to the manor?" Xin Cheng threw the question over his shoulder as he continued to walk in front of them.

"You want to collect any more spirit herbs?" Dao Ming asked her to which, Xiang Ling quickly shook her head. She just wanted to return to the manor and take a break for the night. She had experienced enough excitement for one night.

"All right." Dao Ming said in response before his arm around her tightened and he pulled her against his body in a firm hold. The next thing Xiang Ling knew, she was flying in the air while still being held by Dao Ming.

"I can fly too, you know." She said to the man who just smiled at her before responding, "Of course, you can. But you don’t need to do it since I’m here."

Xiang Ling shut her mouth after that as she failed to keep a straight face after hearing those heart-warming words. She realized that Dao Ming always found a way to make her smile with his sweet-talking, no matter how mad she would be at the moment. It was such a dangerous trait... for her.

The two of them crossed the entire island before flying over the North Sea which was slowly returning to its previous calm self as the Eclipse hours had already ended.

After what seemed like a very long time, but was merely a time span of ten minutes, they landed on high rocks at the shore of the North Sea.

"Why are we stopping here?" She asked in confusion and looked around the area to see if there was anything interesting. But she found nothing.

"Because we can’t fly all the way back to Chen Manor." Xin Cheng replied to her question as he too landed on the rocks.

"Oh!"

Xiang Ling realized that they would be using teleportation to return to the manor. Not only it was a much faster way but also a lot safer than flying across the Mortal Realm.

"Absolutely not for that. We stopped because he needs to give you something."

Dao Ming’s words made Xiang Ling turn her attention toward him only for her to find the two men giving each other harsh glares. She then turned her gaze toward Xin Cheng and noticed that the man was holding his hands behind his back as if hiding something.

"What do you want to give me?" She asked and Xin Cheng’s gaze immediately left Dao Ming to move toward her. He looked hesitant for a moment before he quickly closed the space between the two of them and dumped a bunch of spiritual herbs in her arms.

Xiang Ling didn’t even get to pull herself out of the shock she received before the man had already teleported away.

"When did he collect all these?" She wondered as she inspected the bundle of spiritual herbs and realized that every herb in there was a rare one. Some were even better than the ones she had collected.

"Consider this a compensation for losing the Devil Flowers." Dao Ming said as he walked closer to her.

Xiang Ling quickly nodded her head and didn’t hold back the smile at all this time. She was more than happy to lose the Devil Flowers after collecting hundreds of other rare treasures. It was just surprising to hear that Xin Cheng could do something as sweet as this.

"Let’s go." Dao Ming said as he took hold of her hand, and this time, Xiang Ling didn’t fight him. Once she had safely stored the herbs inside her space, the two of them immediately teleported away from the shore of the North Sea.

Merely a moment later, the two of them appeared in the open courtyard in front of their private quarters. Thankfully, no one was there to witness their sudden appearance out of thin air.

"Go inside and get some sleep. Only a couple of hours are left before sunrise." Dao Ming advised her and Xiang Ling listened for a change. With a nod of her head, she headed toward her chamber. There was no sign of Xin Cheng anywhere and when she turned to look at Dao Ming, he too had already left.

Her chamber was still filled with a soft glow as she opened the door and stepped inside. The thought of entering her space appeared in her mind for a moment but then she decided against it. Everything was silent in there now and she could feel that everything was at peace. There was no need for her to worry.

Besides, there were indeed merely over three hours left before sunrise and she needed to catch some much-needed sleep after the eventful time she just spent at the Tianlin mountains.

Her hands quickly took off the waistband and she was about to take off the outer robe when he finally decided to speak -

"Where have you been tonight?"
