Journey To Become an Insanely Pampered Wife

Chapter 342: The Battle (III)

Chapter 342: The Battle (III)

The force of the dagger was so strong that it completely destroyed Xu Wei’s heart, taking away any possibility of him being saved afterwards.

All it took was that single plunge of the dagger to end everything...!

Blood trickled down from the corner of his mouth, landing on the white silk dress that Xiang Ling was wearing, painting it in contrasting red. His body lost all its strength and she quickly caught him in her arms, slowly following him down to the ground.

A strong aura rushed out of him, sending a powerful wave across the battlefield and stopping the battle immediately, making everyone realize just what happened.

"Ah Wei..."

She tried calling him as she looked at his face through the haze of her tears. What broke her completely was his smiling face she finally saw once her vision cleared, and the relief and farewell in his eyes that were gazing right back at her.

"Sister Ling, g-goodbye...!"

She felt the moment the last remnant of his lifeforce left him, declaring him dead as his body became lifeless in her arms. Tears fell down her cheeks and landed on his face as she placed a kiss on his forehead, wishing him her final farewell.

The sky above rumbled loudly before a golden light parted the clouds and bathed the entire battlefield in its gentle warmth. Then, a divine voice spoke.

"The Shadow Lord has been defeated, and this battle will end with it. Those who wants to surrender will be given a chance at redemption, the rest will be sent to the Abyassal Land to be doomed there for eternity."

As the voice stopped talking, the golden light slolwy disappeared, leaving the battleground filled with silence and a sense of coldness that arrived with Xu Wei’s end.

Xiang Ling was finally pulled out of her trance when she noticed Xu Wei’s body starting to turn into dust and flying away with the remnants of the Golden divine light.

Realizing that she didn’t have much time left, she quickly took out the Spirit Gathering Lamp and opened it with her spiritual qi. She channeled her energy in the lamp, guiding it to catch as much of Xu Wei’s primordial spirit as was left behind.

By the time she finished, there was nothing left of him except for the fragments of his primordial spirit in that lamp.

There was no more energy left in her. She felt completely defeated and lifeless as she stared at her lap where Xu Wei was laying just moment ago. Her vision started turning hazy as darkness lingered at the corners, ready to swarm her at any moment.

She didn’t fight it. Instead, she welcomed it as she felt beyond tired. A part of her wanted to stand up and go look for her lovers, but she had no energy to even move her hands let alone her entire body.

The darkness waited no long as it rushed forward and took over her, pulling her into its depths. She felt her body falling, but instead of the cold ground, she felt something warm eveloping her.

Realizing that she was in the safe arms of one of her men, she completely gave in... and slept.

After Xu Wei died, not everyone in the Dark Force was ready to give up on the battle, but those who did surrender were sent to the Celestial Prison until the High Council’s decision about their future.

As for those who decided to continue the battle, they were killed by the High Realms’ army. In the end, no one wanted to spend the rest of their lives in the Abyassal Lands, so the remaining ones also surrender, bringing the battle finally to an end.

Once the battle ended, the realms got busy in recovering from the mess that the long battle created. There were thousands of those who got injured and needed time to recover, including Li Xian who went into nirvana immediately to heal and complete his cultivation breakthrough.

Wei Guang returned to the Celestial Realm to continue with his duties while handling the situation in the High Council as well.

Xin Cheng and Dao Ming returned to their Realms to take care of the situation there after the battle. Zhe Yuan also returned to the Water Realm. As for Zhang Xuan, his identity as the only God forced him to handle the aftermath of the battle in all the realms.

While the men were clearly busy with their respective duties, they still made sure to visit Xiang Ling from time to time while she slept inside the bedchamber of her palace. She wasn’t sleeping for so long because she was injured or anything, but because she didn’t want to wake up yet.

It wasn’t until the tenth day since the battle ended did Xiang Ling finally woke up. Her eyes fluttered open and she found herself looking at the familiar ceiling of her bed-chamber.

"You are finally awake."

The familiar voice, that just spoke with a sense of relief in it, pulled her attention toward the man who walked toward the bed and settled down on the edge next to her.

"Ah Guang..."

She called him as she tried to sit up. He helped her up before handing her a jade cup filled with elixir. "Drink it. You will feel better."

She accepted the cup and emptied its content, immediately feeling the elixir working on her body and replenishing her energy to the brim. "Thank you." She said while returning the cup to him.

"How are you feeling now?" He asked, and she knew that he wasn’t talking about her health.

She nodded her head before smiling softly at him. "I’m much better now. How are things going outside?"

For next several minutes, he updated her on everything that had happened since she fell into the deep sleep, including how the five of them had been spending time with her while waiting for her to wake up.

"Since you are awake now, the High Council can finally call the meeting."
