The silence that followed Dao Ming’s words was more than enough to explain just how shocked everyone was, especially Xiang Ling. She just sat there while staring at the Spirit Beast King who had a little smirk playing on his lips that was a proof of his victory in the game that had just began.
Xiang Ling shifted her gaze at her other husbands and found each one of them looking at her as they all waited for her reaction. Eventually, her gaze returned to Dao Ming and while staring into the man’s eyes, she reached out for her cloak.
The pavilion was filled with a deep silence as she took off her cloak before her outer robe followed after it. She was left in her inner robe which was made of sheer material that left her arms, shoulders, and collarbone visible to everyone.
"She will get cold in this way." Wei Guang’s voice was filled with worry when he noticed that she was left in a very thin wrap of fabric.
"Xiang Ling, are you feeling cold?" The question came from Dao Ming and Xiang Ling almost felt her throat becoming dry when she heard her name rolling off his tongue.
She turned her attention toward Wei Guang and with an assuring smile, she replied, "Don’t worry, Ah Guang. I’m not feeling cold."
Her words did little to dismiss the man’s worry, but he decided to remain silent and they all decided to continue the game. Xiang Ling took another sip of her wine before she turned her attention to Zhang Xuan and asked, "Truth or Dare?"
"Truth."
Xiang Ling looked around the group of men before her gaze returned to her sixth husband and with a small smile playing on her lips, she asked, "Who’s your least favorite person among everyone sitting here?"
Once again Zhe Yuan whistled. Turning his attention to his wife, he praised, "LingLing, you are slaying this."
This time, Xiang Ling winked at the man in response before the two of them clinked their wine cups together and turned their attention toward Zhang Xuan who still hadn’t answered yet.
The man took his time to look at each of the other five men who were present there before he finally spoke, "Considering my experience with all of them, I’m sure you all already know the answer." He then looked at Xin Cheng before he picked up his wine cup and raised it toward the Demon Emperor for a toast.
While others burst out into chuckles, Xin Cheng let out a sigh and picked up his wine cup to accept the toast.
"We should have seen this coming. Remembering all those times Xin Cheng used to press his sword against Zhang Xuan’s neck, I can see why he’s the least favorite." Li Xian added as he joined the duo and took his first taste of the wine for the night.
Everyone agreed with him and then it was Zhang Xuan’s turn to continue the game. The man took his time to scan the group before his gaze landed on Xin Cheng. "Truth or dare?"
Another sigh escaped Xin Cheng’s lips and he just shook his head while others were enjoying the moment. "Dare." He made his decision.
"Then, I dare you to drink this entire jar of wine." Zhang Xuan announced the dare as he picked up an unopened wine jar and offered it to Xin Cheng.
"This is getting interesting." Xiang Ling was enjoying the game as she watched Xin Cheng accepting the wine jar and opening it before he started drinking. They all cheered him and watched closely as the man emptied the entire jar withing minutes. Once he was done, he turned the empty jar upside down to show that it was actually empty before throwing it at Zhang Xuan who caught it before it could have hit his face.
Despite emptying the entire jar, the man didn’t appear the slightest bit drunk. He too scanned the group before his gaze landed on Xiang Ling and he asked, "Truth or dare?"
After what happened with her previous dare, Xiang Ling was in no mood to repeat her bad luck. Therefore, she decided to make a different decision this time. "Truth." She announced.
"If you have to pick only one of us to spend tonight with, whom will you pick?"
The question took her completely by surprise, but she was not the only one. The rest of the men were also not prepared for this question but it seemed like they were more than looking forward to her answer.
Xiang Ling contemplated her options. If she wanted, she could choose to not answer and just drink to get a pass. However, she knew that doing that would disappoint her husbands more than her picking just one of them.
She took another sip of her wine before she answered, "Li Xian."
Her answer was followed by silence, but there was no discomfort present in it. Everyone was just busy digesting her answer, especially Li Xian who had his gaze fixed on her.
"Can I ask why him?"
Zhe Yuan suddenly spoke while staring at Xiang Ling. His gaze was filled with curiosity instead of anger or sadness which did a lot to make Xiang Ling feel relieved.
"I have been with Ah Guang, Ah Xuan, and Ah Cheng all this time, but not with the other three of you. Obviously, after returning, I want to spend more time with the three of you. However, if I have to choose right now, I only have Li Xian as my favorite. I’m mad at you... for a reason you are very well aware of..." She spoke while looking at Zhe Yuan who seemed to immediately understand what she was talking about.
"... Ah Ming and I haven’t reached that stage in our relationship yet." She continued, providing way too much information to the men. "Since I’m not looking someone for chatting, I will obviously choose someone who can keep me happy throughout the night."
