"It’s so soothing and relaxing. I feel like all my worries just left my body while listening to these divine melodies."
"And look at the dancers! They are moving like wind, so elegant yet powerful. They are amazing!"
"You guys can appreciate the music and dance all you want, but its these delicacies that have all my attention. Look at the variety of dishes and pastries. Everything tastes divine."
"Hah! The real treasure is the wine. I have never drank such a good wine before in my entire life."
"They really made this Mid-Autumn Festival special with these surprises. I can’t wait to find out who is behind all this."
The entire main street of Dongzhi City was abuzz with chatters of the locals and visitors who were all taken aback by the surprise they all received from an unknown source. They all were busy solving the riddles and lightening the lanterns when a group of musicians and dancers suddenly appeared in the middle of the street and started performing. Then, another group of people appeared who arranged stalls for free food and wine.
Though surprised, everyone was eager to have a taste of the delicacies that filled the air with their aroma. It barely took minutes before everyone was gathered there to enjoy the surprise.
Nearly half an hour had passed and more than a hundred people had gathered to have as taste of the food, wine, dance, and music. The dancers finally finished their last dance and left the stage along with the musicians, making everyone feel slightly disappointed. However, the very next moment, a young woman made her way to the stage.
"She’s the young lady who just told us the story of Chang’e being the Moon Goddess!" Somone among the crowd shouted when they recognized the young woman standing on the stage.
"You are right. It’s her! Don’t tell me she’s the one behind this wonderful surprise. What a kind young lady she is." Another one added.
More praises followed and Xiang Ling found herself smiling as she took a moment to hear the words of the general public who were finally using some good words to describe her. Since they didn’t know she was Chen Xiang Ling, they were seeing her without any prejudices.
Taking in a deep breath, she started speaking while addressing the audience. "From your words and expressions, I can already tell that you all have enjoyed the surprise I prepared for you all tonight. Since you have already got a taste of the food, wine, music, dance, and our overall services, I’m hoping to see you all stopping by Tranquil Cloud Inn whenever you are passing by."
"Are you talking about that big Inn on the edge of bamboo groves?" Someone from the crowd asked and when Xiang Ling nodded her head in affirmative, murmurs of shock erupted among the crowd. They all were surprised to know that the special surprise was set up by that new Inn.
"Are you finally opening the Inn?" Another person asked curiously.
Xiang Ling smiled as she noticed the eagerness among the crowd. "Yes. The Tranquil Cloud Inn will be officially opening to welcome our customers this coming weekend. We will love to welcome you all. Please stop by to enjoy more of such delicacies and music whenever you have time."
Once she was done speaking her part, she didn’t stay on the stage for too long and quickly left, disappearing inside a building to get away from the crowd that was filled with curiosity to know more about her and the Tranquil Cloud Inn.
"You sure know how to do business." Zhe Yuan praised as he opened the door for her and pulled her inside the private room on the second floor of the restaurant.
"I know." Xiang Ling replied with a chuckle as she followed Zhe Yuan to the table where Wei Guang, Li Xian, and Zhang Xuan were already seated.
"That was indeed a good strategy. You gave them a little taste of what kind of services they can expect from Tranquil Cloud Inn. This will definitely prove fruitful for your business as there were several outsiders present among the crowd tonight. I’m sure they will stop by the Inn on their way and it will also help in spreading words of the Inn to other cities, towns, and villages." Wei Guang added as he too looked proud of Xiang Ling’s plan of marketing her Inn’s business.
Xiang Ling nodded her head as she too was satisfied with how things went. "The coming days are going to be really tiring. I just hope the opening of the Inn will become successful."
Li Xian gave her hand a light squeeze in assurance. "Don’t worry too much. You are working really hard, I’m sure things will turn out for the best for you."
Xiang Ling gave the man a grateful smile before she turned her attention at all four of them and asked, "You all will help me with the preparations for thr opening, right?"
"Of course, we will. I have been waiting to see that Inn for so long. I will love to accompany you and help out as much as I can." Li Xian was the first one to reply and the other three also nodded their heads in agreement to Li Xian’s statement.
"Thank you." She was really grateful for their support. During the past couple of days, their relationships had improved a lot and they had become even more close. A part of her wondered whether it was because the four of them had noticed the rift between her, Xin Cheng and Dao Ming, and that was why they were spending more and more time with her to keep her happy. But whatever was the case, she was really grateful toward them and appreciated their efforts.
The five of them enjoyed some herbal tea and chatted for a little bit more while planning for the upcoming opening day of the Inn, and then finally returned to the Manor to retire for the night.
