"Why such a glamorous dress?" Xiang Ling asked when she noticed the bright blue hanfu that Fu Xiao had prepared for her. It looked really pretty, made of fine silk with perfect sheen to it. Paired with the dress were fine pearl jewelry with bright blue flower ingrained in them. There was no doubt that she was going to look absolutely beautiful in that dress and set of jewelry.
"My Lady, you just got married yesterday. Of course you need to dress beautifully. Besides, you have been dressing up too simply these past few months. It’s time you start dressing like the young lady of the family." Fu Xiao reminded her lady as she rubbed the body oil on Xiang Ling’s freshly washed body.
Xiang Ling didn’t argue as she had nothing against wearing beautful dresses. Besides, Fu Xiao did a great job in picking the right dress and jewelry. While the set looked expensive and beautiful, it didn’t overdo the things. It’s perfect to be worn for appreciation and praises, without attracting any bad comments.
It took around fifteen minutes before Fu Xiao finally finished helping Xiang Ling to get dressed and as Xiang Ling looked at her reflection in the mirror, even she was surprised to see just how pretty Chen Xiang Ling could look when tried in the proper way.
"My Lady, you are looking really pretty!" An Mei exclaimed excitedly when Xiang Ling and Fu Xiao stepped out of the room to head toward the dining hall.
"Thank you, An Mei." Xiang Ling replied politely with a soft smile before all three of them made their way toward the dining hall. That morning, every person who saw Xiang Ling, he/she was blown away by her beauty, including Hao Ran and Zuan Hu.
Out of all six husbands, only Zhang Xuan arrived at the dinning hall for breakfast and surprised both Hao Ran and Zuan Hu when he performed the Tea Serving Ceremony for them. It was a ceremony performed by newly wed brides who served tea to their in-laws and all the other elders in their husbands’ families during their first morning after the wedding. However, it was unseen for a man to perform this ceremony.
"First Brother-in-law, First sister-in-law, please bless my wedding life with Xiao Ling." Zhang Xuan requested politely as he offered the tea to the two.
Hao Ran shared a surprised look with his wife. Zuan Hu, though equally surprised as her husband, smiled softly before she picked up a red envelope from the nearby table and offered it to Zhang Xuan. "Our blessings are always with the two of you. Take this, it’s a little welcome present from your Brother-in-law and me."
"Thank you, Brother-in-law, sister-in-law." Zhang Xuan bowed politely to both of them as he accepted the envelope and returned to Xiang Ling’s side with a proud smile on his lips.
Looking at all the efforts he was making, Xiang Ling was unable to keep a straight face. A smile made its way to her lips as well as they all turned their attention toward food.
After breakfast, Xiang Ling headed to start with her daily work and Zhang Xuan followed behind her as he wanted to get a glimpse at her everyday life while being in the outside world with her. She finished her meeting with the servants quickly before she went to supervise the students who were busy honing their skills.
"You are looking absolutely pretty, wife." Zhang Xuan suddenly complimented when he finally got a chance.
Xiang Ling, who was busy checking the medicinal notes written by the group of medical students, looked up at the man and found him holding a blue lotus in his hand.
Once he had her full attention, Zhang Xuan offered the beautiful flower to Xiang Ling who immeditely accepted it. "It suits you perfectly." He whispered while giving her an adorable smile.
"It’s so beautiful. Where did you even found this?" Xiang Ling asked curiously. It wasn’t easy flower to grow and the one she held in her hands at the moment was a spiritual blue lotus.
"I grew it," replied Zhang Xuan while looking proud of himself.
"You grew it? Where?" Xiang Ling asked, wanting to see more such beautiful flowers if there were any.
Zhang Xuan didn’t answer immeditely but then finally confessed - "In your space."
Xiang Ling’s eyes went wide in surprise at his answer. "In my space? Where? And when?"
"The first night I spent inside your space. I just did it on a whim. As for where inside that vast space, I will show it to you later." Zhang Xuan offered and Xiang Ling quickly nodded her head in agreement.
Over the past two months, a lot more areas within her Spatial Realm had been opened because of her achievements in fulfilling Chen Xiang Ling’s desires or making up for her grievances. But since she had been way too busy in the outside world, she barely had any time to check on those areas inside her space. The only places she had been constantly visiting inside her space were the Summer Cottage and the Herb Valley.
Zhang Xuan didn’t bother her much for the rest of the day while she busied herself in guiding the students through their dedicated training sessions. He just watched from the sidelines as if he had all the time in the world to just look at her doing mundane works.
After lunch, Xiang Ling headed to the construction site and Zhang Xuan once again followed her. The construction work had progressed a lot in the past couple of months and it was almost nearing completion. All that left was to set up the place and finally open it. The greenhouse was also ready and the assigned servants were doing a great job in taking care of all the veggies and fruits.
A couple of days ago, Xiang Ling also came up with the idea of opening a farmhouse behind the greenhouse. She had planned to raise chickens, ducks, cows, sheep, pigs, fish, prawns, and such. Along with it, she was also planning to build a huge stable for horses. She was anticipating the day she could finally open her very first business in the Mortal Realm.
