Journey To Become an Insanely Pampered Wife

Chapter 122: Reminding Her of the Promise

Chapter 122: Reminding Her of the Promise

Zhang Xuan stared into her eyes in silence for a few seconds before he finally answered, "From the very moment I entered this Spatial Realm." To further explain his statement, he added, "I’m the creator of this space. How big of a disappointment it would be if I don’t even know who owns this place?"

Xiang Ling opened her mouth to speak but didn’t say anything after giving it another thought. As if he could read her mind, the man spoke, "Want to ask again who I am?"

While Xiang Ling just sighed in response, Zhang Xuan smiled at her as if he was finding the entire situation entertaining. "Don’t worry. You will find out someday in the future. For now, there’s something much more important than this that we should talk about."

"What is it?" Xiang Ling asked while feeling intrigued by his choice of words. What could be of such importance that he wanted to talk about with her? She found herself anticipating his response.

"Remember your promise? The one you made when asking for my help in creating the antidote of the demonic poison." He reminded her and as soon as the words were out of his mouth, Xiang Ling couldn’t help but feel disappointed. She was expecting to hear something of real importance, and yet, the man ended up reminding her of the promise that she wanted to completely forget about.

Still, it was a promise nonetheless and she wasn’t one to go back on her words. Nodding her head, she replied, "I do. What about it? You have thought about what to ask in return?"

The smile on Zhang Xuan’s lips only became bigger as he replied, "I have. That’s why I wanted to remind you of your promise. Just in case you might have forgotten about it."

Xiang Ling felt like the man was purposely teasing her. Clearing her throat she defended herself. "How could I forget about something so important? Tell me. What is it that you want?"

The man shook his head in response, momentarily confusing Xiang Ling, but then he spoke, "Not now. You will find out soon. All you need to know for now is that you owe me one promise. So, when we meet next time, remember to fulfill your promise."

His words confused Xiang Ling but before she could have asked anything, the man already disappeared from beside her, leaving behind empty space as if he had never been there in the first place.

Left behind with nothing but suspense and confusion, Xiang Ling felt like she just invited huge trouble for herself. Only if she knew that the trouble was much bigger than she anticipated.

After Xuelin’s heavenly tribulation, Xiang Ling spent the rest of the day inside her Spatial Realm to cultivate her spiritual energy and find a balance between her divine powers and mortal body.

By the time she finished her cultivation and stepped out of her space into the real world, it was already reaching dusk and everyone was busy preparing dinner. The inn was buzzing with energy and chatter as she made her way downstairs after freshening up and changing into a new dress.

It had been almost a week since she found the antidote and so much had changed in the Lin Family’s Village since that day. Almost every person in the village was already healed and back to their usual lives before the catastrophe hit their village. Only a couple of villagers were still not completely healed but their situation wasn’t one to worry about as they would also be completely healthy within a few more days.

Life had slowly returned to the village and the villagers had once again opened up their daily businesses. The village was also opened up to outsiders as the plague had completely disappeared from existence.

The disciples of both sects were also set to leave the village the coming morning and Xiang Ling was also planning to leave after spending two more days in the village after helping the last few patients that still hadn’t recovered fully.

This particular evening, the disciples of Wangjing and Wudang Sects were busy in the preparation of the banquet that they were organizing along with the villagers to thank Xiang Ling, her husbands, and Liying.

"How are you feeling now?" Li Xian asked as he immediately came to receive her as soon as she reached the last step of the stairs.

"I’m completely fine now. You don’t have to worry anymore." She told the man only for him to take hold of her wrist as he tried to check her pulse. He only let go of her hand once he was assured that she was indeed completely fine.

The two of them were soon joined by Zhe Yuan who gave Xiang Ling a bright smile as soon as their gazes locked with each other’s. Just by looking into his eyes, Xiang Ling was able to recall the night she spent with him in his Spatial Realm. It had been merely two days since that night but it already felt like ages since she last felt his touch. Her body was still yearning for him just as much as it did that night.

Their short moment ended just as quickly as it began when Liying suddenly appeared next to them with a dejected look on her face.

"What’s wrong?" Xiang Ling asked, feeling worried after noticing her expression.

Letting out a deep sigh, the fairy answered, "I knew that this plague had left a long-lasting effect on this village, but it was only now that I realized how bad the situation is. You should come and take a look at this."

Xiang Ling shared glances with her two husbands before all three of them followed Liying out of the Inn. They walked until they arrived at the village’s square and found a group of people gathered there.

"What’s going on here?" Zhe Yuan asked as he took a look at the crowd that was gathered there.
