The morning sunlight filtered in through the gaps in the curtains covering the big window that was left slightly open to allow the breeze to enter the chamber. Birds could also be heard chirping outside in the courtyard as nature itself welcomed a new day.
Xiang Ling squirmed as her consciousness started coming out of the world of a relaxing dreamless sleep. She scooted closer to the source of warmth beside her and one of her palms came in contact with the smooth skin of the person sleeping beside her. Her eyes fluttered open and her gaze landed on the very familiar face of Wei Guang who looked even more enchanting in his sleep.
The memories from the night before rushed to her and a huge smile spilled on her lips as she recalled the details of their intimate activities. Her body was sore in several places but the ache between her legs was clear evidence of what transpired between the two of them.
Very carefully, she climbed out of bed without waking up Wei Guang. Putting on her nightgown to cover her naked body, she used her spiritual energy to take care of the soreness in her body. Then, she took out a pill from her space and gulped it down with a cup of warm water. The pill was for birth control.
Once she was done, she returned to the bed and slipped under the covers to lay next to the man who had clearly woken up but was still pretending to be asleep. Turning completely to face the man, she gazed at his handsome face. This time, she took her time to appreciate his perfectly shaped eyebrows, his long eyelashes, his pink lips, and his high cheekbones. Her fingers lightly tapped on the muscles of his chest before they started trailing lines across his extremely alluring body.
Her fingers didn’t stop their survey even when they were on their way down to his torso. Right as she reached his belly button, a hand finally captured her wrist and stopped her from going down any further.
"Don’t be naughty, Ah Ling." Wei Guang warned in a soft tone with his eyes still closed as if he was sleeping. Yet, there was a small smile visible on his lips as he spoke the words.
Forcing her fingers back to his chest, she spoke, "How am I being naughty? I’m just trying to appreciate the great physique my husband possesses." She purposely scraped her fingernail over one of his nipples, making the man groan out loud both in surprise and pleasure.
His hold on her wrist, which had loosened up, became tight all over again as he stopped her from doing anything more than she already had. His eyes also finally flew open and he turned his face to her. He gazed into her eyes for a moment before he surprised her with a kiss.
Xiang Ling felt her entire being melting in his arms as he kissed her like she was his most treasured possession. His hands went to circle her body and he pulled her flush against him, leaving no space between their bodies. She suddenly started regretting putting on the gown as it had become a barrier between their bodies.
Her hands started to move over his body once again but the man caught them once again and locked them against the mattress on either side of her head while he shifted his body to hover over her all the while he continued to kiss her.
Xiang Ling moaned into the kiss, her body heating up as the tingles of sweet desire started spreading across her body. She arched her back, pressing her body against him.
Wei Guang ended the kiss only for his mouth to trail kisses along her jawline before moving over to her throat. By the time his lips found their way to her very exposed collarbone, she was a moaning mess.
Her breath got caught in her throat when she felt his mouth dragging the neckline of the nightgown down one of her nipples but right at that moment, the door of the chamber flew open and two very oblivious women stepped inside.
"My Lady, it’s already very late in the morning. You sho-"
An Mei trailed off on her way to Xiang Ling’s bed as her gaze finally landed on a very flushed-looking Xiang Ling and Wei Guang beside her. The poor woman stared at them with her eyes wide open and her jaw hanging open in shock and horror.
"What happened? Why are you standing here like you have seen a ghost-" Fu Xiao, who just arrived next to An Mei, also failed to speak any further when she finally noticed the reason behind An Mei’s shock.
"My Lady. Master Wei."
The women finally pulled themselves out of their shocked states and greeted Xiang Ling and Wei Guang.
"It’s already late. Let them help you get ready. I will meet you for a late breakfast in the dining hall." Wei Guang said and placed a soft kiss on her temple.
"I have a different plan though." Xiang Ling whispered back with a bright smile that confused the man. Turning her attention toward the two women, who were looking anywhere but at them, she ordered, "Fu Xiao, ask the servants to prepare the bath for us. An Mei, arrange for our breakfast in the courtyard."
"Yes, My Lady."
Both the women took their leaves and quickly headed to complete their tasks. In no time, the servants had prepared warm baths in the bath chamber for Xiang Ling and Wei Guang while another team was busy arranging their clothes.
An Mei led a group of maids to arrange the breakfast meal on the stone table sitting under the peach bloom tree in the open courtyard.
In no time, the entire manor knew that Lady Chen and Master Wei had spent a passionate night together. And while the servants were happy for the duo, the same couldn’t be said about those who were more jealous than happy.
