Chapter 1082 - 1089: Borrowing Your Speedboat (Part 2)

Chapter 1082: Chapter 1089: Borrowing Your Speedboat (Part 2)

Three, two, one!

The red light turned green, and the cars in front started moving.

They hadn’t even gone ten meters when a pitch‑black Volkswagen slipped into the flow, weaving through the dozen or so cars ahead.

And in under three seconds, it had already overtaken the first car.

"This..."

"This is way too insane!"

"All twelve points are gone for sure!"

"Not necessarily, maybe only six!"

"But how did he get up there? I’ve got cars in front of me and behind me!"

"Too fast, I really couldn’t see clearly!"

"One thing’s for sure, though—this bro’s skills are god‑tier!"

"He could totally compete in world‑class racing with that!"

"..."

Only four or five seconds later did the first car clear the intersection, and the car that had just blown past it was already nothing but a blurry shadow in the distance.

It wasn’t just those drivers who were surprised or even shocked—the one who was most stunned was Master Chen sitting in the backseat of that Volkswagen. He’d been driving for so many years, and this was the first time he’d seen technique this advanced.

Before, when he let Lin Xi drive, he’d just blindly worshipped Lin Xi.

But to be honest, he was the professional driver.

He’d always thought that aside from those professional race drivers, no matter how good anyone else’s skills were, they were at best on par with him.

Now he realized he had never imagined Lin Xi’s skills were at this level.

At this level, even top‑tier race drivers wouldn’t be much better.

Just now, the gaps between those cars had been really tight—some spots couldn’t even fit a single car through.

Yet Lin Xi still got through, purely by relying on absolutely precise control, brushing past without touching anyone’s car.

As for the spots where even one car couldn’t fit, that didn’t matter.

Because he’d vaguely caught a glimpse, thanks to the crazy speed—the car had been tilted as it drove!

Tilted!!

You only ever see that with stunt drivers.

And even then, their cars and the road conditions have specific requirements.

Otherwise, in normal traffic with a regular car, those stunt drivers can go try that if they dare.

And the speed was just too much.

He kept feeling that even if he floored the gas pedal, he still wouldn’t be able to hit this kind of speed.

How the hell did Lin Xi do it?

Honestly, he really couldn’t figure it out.

And some of those overtakes, lane cuts and other maneuvers—there were a few you wouldn’t even dare to imagine.

Because they really went beyond what humans think is possible.

So the whole way, Master Chen didn’t even know what to say.

All he knew was, he never saw Lin Xi really slow down; he was almost always at max speed.

Only on curves and such did he ease off a little.

But even then, it was still insanely fast—the kind of speed that would stump even top race drivers.

On the side, Zhu Ying had her whole body wrapped around the front seat backrest.

She was completely terrified!

This kind of speed—this was the first time in her life she’d ever felt it.

Sometimes she even felt that if she slipped up for a second, she might just get flung out of the car.

If she got flung out, she would definitely be dead meat!

Right now, to be honest, she kind of regretted letting Lin Xi drive, and she also regretted it—if that bastard wanted to gamble, then let him gamble; if they got fined, then so be it, she’d asked for all of this herself.

About fifteen minutes later, Lin Xi slammed the brakes and brought the car to a stop at the pier.

Counting the five minutes Master Chen had driven earlier, it took them twenty minutes total to reach the pier.

And the ship was scheduled to leave in thirty minutes.

Which meant they were ten minutes early.

But by the time Lin Xi and Zhu Ying spent three minutes walking over to where the luxury cruise ship was supposed to be docked, they found the spot completely empty.

And in the distance, they could just make out a cruise ship slowly moving away.

"The cruise that was just here already left?" Lin Xi grabbed a nearby worker at random and asked.

The man first yanked his arm out of Lin Xi’s grip, shot him a glance, and answered impatiently, "It left twenty minutes early!"

After tossing that line to Lin Xi, he turned and left.

If he hadn’t just felt that enormous strength in Lin Xi’s grip, he wouldn’t even have bothered replying.

"Twenty minutes early?"

Zhu Ying frowned deeply.

"Didn’t they say twelve o’clock?"

"How did it leave twenty minutes early? That makes no sense!"

"If someone showed up on time, wouldn’t they just be screwed?"

Lin Xi didn’t answer her, and he didn’t bother guessing why. No matter how much he thought about it, the cruise ship wasn’t going to turn back.

The key now was how to catch up.

Thinking of this, he started walking around and looking in all directions, hoping to find a speedboat or something to chase the ship.

Zhu Ying, on the other hand, let out a long, heavy sigh. "Looks like even the heavens aren’t on her side!"

They were on that bastard Yan Xia’s side!

Otherwise, how could it just so happen to leave twenty minutes early?

Looked like the heavens wanted her to lose this bet!

She just hoped that losing all the money she had on her would be the end of it—that she wouldn’t end up borrowing more to keep gambling.

If that happened, then things would really get ugly!

"Lin Xi, let’s just go back," she said, looking at Lin Xi, who was still glancing left and right.

Lin Xi ignored her. He suddenly spotted a motor yacht up ahead with someone on it looking like he was about to head out to sea. He instantly turned to Zhu Ying and said, "Come with me, I’ve got an idea!"

"An idea?" Bai Bing was stunned. She didn’t believe it at all, but still followed.

They were already here anyway!

As they neared the yacht, Bai Bing gave a bitter laugh. "Don’t tell me your plan is to take this thing and chase down that ship!"

Lin Xi nodded. "You guessed right."

"No way!" Bai Bing shook her head. "Even if this thing could catch up—which it probably can’t—how are we supposed to get on board the cruise?"

"Don’t tell me you plan to climb up?"

"Those scenes in the movies are all fake!"

She wasn’t just talking nonsense.

That cruise ship was huge—there was no way you could climb up from a speedboat.

Not to mention, they checked passengers really strictly on that ship.

No ticket, no boarding.

And if you chased them down in a speedboat, they’d be even less likely to let you on.

Lin Xi didn’t answer right away, because the two of them had already reached the speedboat.

The guy on the speedboat was already pulling in the ropes, looking like he was about to head out.

"Bro, mind lending us your boat for a bit?" Lin Xi asked casually. Without waiting for an answer, he dragged Zhu Ying aboard.

The owner of the speedboat was a young man.

He looked twenty‑five or twenty‑six, with slightly tanned skin, the kind you get from lots of sun.

But overall, he was pretty good‑looking.

And judging by his clothes and accessories, he obviously came from money.

The young man was stunned for a second, and when he snapped out of it, his face turned dark. "Who told you you could get on? Did I say you could get on?"

"Get the hell off my boat!"
