Chapter 447: Healing
It had been over two years since she arrived in this world. She now had a basic understanding of its power systems and had grown tired of a life spent constantly hiding and laying low.
Ning Xuan had awakened two Companion Spirits: the Legendary Level Vermilion Bird and the Legendary Level Yinglong. Her Spiritual Power Level had reached S-Class, and she had become an Alchemy Master. In addition, her Spirit Plant, the Ghost-faced Red Vine, had fully recovered to its peak state. In fact, because her current body was stronger, the Ghost-faced Red Vine’s power had been enhanced in sync, making it even stronger than before.
With the Ghost-faced Red Vine as her trump card, she had the means to escape even a crisis as dire as a spatial rift.
Therefore, Ning Xuan no longer wanted to hide her strength. She decided to test her mettle against the world’s top powers. Perhaps it would help her break through her bottleneck faster and achieve a leap in Combat Power.
Held in Ning Xuan’s arms, Di Youlin unconsciously nuzzled against her. He felt that although his body was in great discomfort, the turmoil in his Spiritual Sea was gradually subsiding.
After two minor spatial jumps, the three of them stopped in a bustling, chaotic urban district.
By now, all three of them had disguised their appearances. Ning Xuan even had two puppet decoys with her. The puppets emanated fluctuations of spiritual power, so a cursory scan would reveal nothing out of the ordinary.
“Master, we’re here,” Qinghe said to Ning Xuan, his gaze fixed on a courtyard hidden in the alley before them.
“Have you dealt with everyone watching us?” Ning Xuan asked coolly.
“They’ve been taken care of. The decoy squads have all successfully reached their rendezvous points. Rest assured, Master, no one will trace us here for at least three days,” Qinghe reported.
“Good. Use these Array Plates to set up a protective barrier. I’ll treat Di Youlin first. You stand guard.” Ning Xuan knew Qinghe was injured as well, but Di Youlin’s Spiritual Sea had been scorched by the Vermilion Bird Fire. His injuries were more severe, so he had to be treated first.
“Yes, Master.” Qinghe took the Array Plates from Ning Xuan. He just needed to place them in specific locations and activate them with his spiritual power.
Ning Xuan carried Di Youlin into a room. Dark red vines instantly sprouted from her palm, a dozen of them piercing into his body. The young man, his face contorted in pain, instantly transformed into his Companion Spirit form: a Fire Phoenix, over two meters long with brilliant plumage, which let out a pained cry.
“This is my fault. I never should have shared the Vermilion Bird Fire with you. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you’re healed,” Ning Xuan soothed, stroking the Fire Phoenix’s head. The phoenix’s cries gradually softened. Its round eyes, seemingly welling with tears, looked at Ning Xuan with an aggrieved expression.
Ning Xuan had already withdrawn the Vermilion Bird Fire. Now, she channeled a continuous stream of pure spiritual power through their Spiritual Link Channel into Di Youlin’s parched Spiritual Sea. Soon, the sea that had been seared by the flames was filled with vibrant spiritual power. The desiccated areas began to radiate a healthy glow, and the pained expression on the Fire Phoenix’s face finally eased.
Ning Xuan gradually felt her own Sea of Consciousness being depleted. She paused to take two Elixir Pills designed to stabilize it. After about ten minutes, she resumed treating Di Youlin’s Spiritual Sea.
The treatment lasted for over two hours. When it was finished, Ning Xuan went into seclusion to meditate and cultivate. Di Youlin had long since fallen asleep, and he slept deeply and soundly until evening. By the time he woke, he had already reverted to his human form. The moment he opened his eyes, the world felt different. He slowly sat up, his body feeling incredibly light. With a single thought, he instantly transformed into his Companion Spirit form. He was a Fire Phoenix with resplendent feathers, and not only had he grown a size larger, but his plumage was also far more vibrant than before.
The Fire Phoenix preened its feathers with its beak, then with a SWISH, it changed back into human form.
Di Youlin shifted back and forth several times, his face lit with pure delight. “Qinghe! Qinghe! Come and see! I can switch freely between my two forms now!”
Di Youlin had already pinpointed Qinghe’s location with his spiritual power, and now he ran toward him, ecstatic.
“Congratulations. Your spiritual power must have grown quite a bit as well,” Qinghe said, his expression as calm as ever as he watched Di Youlin run up to him.
“Where’s the Master? Why can’t I sense her aura? I vaguely remember her transferring a lot of spiritual power to me… Where is she? Is she all right? Did the treatment take a heavy toll on her?” Di Youlin asked, full of worry.
“After she finished treating you, the Master went into seclusion to cultivate. The Practice Room’s Protective Shield is active to block any prying senses, so of course you can’t detect her. Judging by the time, she should be coming out soon,” Qinghe explained.
As soon as he finished speaking, Ning Xuan pushed open a door and emerged.
The two men bowed respectfully at the sight of her. Di Youlin’s eyes were practically glued to Ning Xuan. “Master, thank you so much for healing me.”
“Mm. You look like you’ve recovered well,” Ning Xuan said, then turned to Qinghe. “I’ve prepared a Soul Gathering Array for you in the Practice Room. It should repair the damage to your spiritual power. Go on.”
“Thank you, Master.” Qinghe cupped his fist in a salute and headed toward the Practice Room.
“Wait. Take this,” Ning Xuan said, pulling a vial of Elixir Pills from her Space Ring and tossing it to him. “It will help with your injuries.”
Although Qinghe was not her Contractor and they didn’t have a Spiritual Link Channel, they were bound by a Blood Covenant. His Blood Core Essence resided within her, so Ning Xuan could still sense his physical condition.
“Yes, Master.” Qinghe caught the vial, his expression softening.
‘The Elixir Pills Ning Xuan makes are always incredibly effective, far better than any I’ve used before. And she’s so generous, never stingy. Even with injuries I’d consider minor, she treats them with great importance and makes sure I heal them promptly.’
‘This feeling of being valued and cared for… it’s incredibly warming.’
As soon as Qinghe left, Di Youlin sidled up to her. “Master, what medicine did you give Qinghe? I want some too.”
