Interstellar Farming: I Make Potions and Climb to the Top

Chapter 371: Divine Doctor

Chapter 371: Chapter 371: Divine Doctor

It was under these circumstances that Ning Xuan and Lin Mo emerged.

Just as Lin Yuzhi was hesitating, wondering if he should find a way to check on the situation inside, the treatment room door opened. To his astonishment, the person who opened it was none other than Lin Mo—the very same man who had been bleeding from every orifice and seemed certain to die.

"Dean Lin." Lin Mo bowed to Lin Yuzhi in a formal greeting.

"You... You’re healed?" Lin Yuzhi stared at him, shocked and incredulous.

"Impossible! How could injuries like that be healed?" Shan Xingping’s eyes flew wide as she rushed forward, looking Lin Mo up and down.

Shan Xingping didn’t want to believe that Ning Xuan had truly healed Lin Mo, but the proof was standing right before her eyes. She had no choice but to accept it.

By healing the critically injured and near-death Lin Mo on her very first attempt, Ning Xuan set a precedent. In the days that followed, she demonstrated astonishingly high efficiency, and her fame quickly spread throughout the base, which was now on a war footing.

Under these wartime conditions, none of the Doctors at the medical center had fixed offices. They spent most of their time waiting in the main medical hall, each assigned to a specific zone.

The longest queues always formed in Ning Xuan’s zone. The wounded would form orderly lines, waiting quietly and hopefully for the young Doctor’s treatment.

Ning Xuan’s methods were clean and efficient, never wasting a single motion. For broken bones, she would quickly and precisely reset them before applying medicine and bandages. For internal injuries, her Golden Needles would flash, instantly clearing any blockages. For those who were poisoned, she possessed the most effective Antidote Potion—a potion rumored to be one of her own alchemical creations.

Her movements were as fluid as water. It was as if she could see every ailment with perfect clarity, needing only the lightest touch to guide a person’s disordered Life Force back into balance.

But what was most astounding was her efficiency. In the time it took other Doctors to treat a single patient, she could handle three, or even more. And even more shockingly, not a single patient under Ning Xuan’s care had died.

Even patients with critical injuries, those who had been deemed "beyond saving," would miraculously stabilize under her care.

Some wondered if she was using some forbidden art, but her methods were straightforward and honest—nothing more than a perfect fusion of medical skill, potent medicines, and soothing spiritual power.

"Master Ning is just incredible," someone commented. "I always thought Doctor Shan was amazing, but looking at it now, Master Ning is on a whole other level."

"Doctor Shan is incredible, of course," his companion agreed. "But she and Master Ning aren’t even in the same league."

"Ning Xuan, your acupuncture techniques... where did you learn them? Would you be willing to take on an apprentice?" Lin Yuzhi asked with a beaming smile.

"Dean, I’ve never studied under anyone; I’m self-taught," Ning Xuan replied with a smile. "As for taking an apprentice... it’s not out of the question, but it would have to be the right person."

"As long as you’re willing, that’s what matters!" Lin Yuzhi said excitedly. "Gan Ju, come over here! Let Miss Ning see if you’re a good fit."

"Dean Lin, what’s the rush?" Ning Xuan refused outright. "The medical center is still incredibly busy. I don’t have any time to mentor someone right now."

"Very well. If you need an assistant, just come to me. I’ll be sure to arrange it for you," Lin Yuzhi repeatedly urged her.

"Alright. Thank you, Dean Lin," Ning Xuan said politely.

After they parted ways, Lin Yuzhi strode quickly down the medical center’s long corridor, ducking into a secluded lounge. Once he had shut the door and confirmed he was alone, he took an exquisite communicator from within his coat.

His fingertips tapped the surface a few times, and a pale blue light screen materialized, hovering in mid-air.

The screen flickered a few times before a face with sharp, chiseled features appeared.

The man looked to be in his early thirties, with deep-set features, a high-bridged nose, and amber-colored eyes that held a cold light.

"Tianming, is everything alright at home?" Lin Yuzhi asked Yun Tianming.

Yun Tianming’s blond hair was slightly curled and fell casually about his face, yet it didn’t look messy. Instead, it added to his roguish charm.

He first offered Lin Yuzhi a slight smile before bowing respectfully. "Lord Contract Master, all is well at home. Are you acclimating to your time at the Second Corps Headquarters Base?"

"It’s going well," said Lin Yuzhi. "I’m calling because I need to tell you that Ning Xuan’s abilities are far greater than I anticipated. If she hadn’t arrived exactly when she did, Little Mo would be dead."

"That seems like an exaggeration. If Ning Xuan wasn’t there, you were, weren’t you? She’s so young. Could her medical skills possibly be greater than yours?" Yun Tianming shook his head, unconvinced.

"It’s different. Ning Xuan was likely able to save Lin Mo by relying on the Spiritual Link Channel. You yourself said that their genetic compatibility is over ninety percent," Lin Yuzhi analyzed seriously.

"I see. Contractor, please protect yourself. Don’t let yourself get into a dangerous situation under any circumstances," Yun Tianming urged.

"Don’t worry," Lin Yuzhi promised. "I know what I’m doing."

On the fifteenth day after the Second Corps Headquarters Base declared a state of war, the military situation was largely under control. The number of soldiers being admitted to the medical center gradually decreased, and Ning Xuan finally felt the pressure ease.

Ning Xuan had lost count of how many wounded she had treated during that time. When the state of war was officially over, many soldiers came of their own accord to give her carefully chosen gifts.

"Dean Lin, Miss Ning’s abilities are extraordinary. It’s only right that you chose her to be the next dean. I have no objections," Shan Xingping said calmly, looking at the mountain of gifts piled on Ning Xuan’s desk.

After working with her for this long, Shan Xingping was utterly convinced of Ning Xuan’s superiority. Besides, as an Alchemy Master, Miss Ning was far more qualified to be dean than she was.

Meanwhile, Lin Yuzhi had indeed offered Ning Xuan the position of dean of the medical center, but she had rejected it flat out. She had too much to do and had no desire to be bogged down by administrative duties.

"You really won’t reconsider?" Lin Yuzhi asked, a hint of disappointment in his voice.

"I won’t," Ning Xuan refused. "My total term of service here is less than two years. The deanship is a three-year term. If I took it, I’d have to stay for more than an extra year."

Ning Xuan had specifically looked up the data. The medical center’s success rate in treating the wounded had doubled this time around, and the primary reason for this change was her presence.

With the state of war over, the Second Corps Headquarters Base returned to normal operations. Now that things had calmed down, Ning Xuan found herself bored and applied for another leave of absence.

Lin Mo had performed numerous meritorious deeds during the battle. When it came time for commendations, he received a document from the Military Department conferring upon him the General Rank.

Since Ning Xuan refused the deanship and would not accept an administrative position, the Military Department couldn’t just let her contributions go unrewarded. They offered her several choices for a reward, and Ning Xuan chose a selection of rare medicinal herbs and seeds.
