Chapter 5576: Stability!
Chapter 5576: Stability!
<THE True Human Emperor>
Noah stood by the obelisk with his eyes closed, and he was also standing in a dozen other places.
His senses ran through every Provenance Sanguine Clone at once, shared fully, a single awareness wearing many titanic bodies across the breadth of THE Ymnaros, and what that awareness observed was the same short story with different scenery!
No Infinite True Lifeform stood against even a single Sanguine Blood Drop.
Not the Cenozoic ones anchoring invasion spearheads. Not the patient ones hanging back behind their stacked Pantheons. Not the desperate ones who saw the crimson gold figure arrive and threw everything they had hoarded across their long lives at it before the staff could rise!
One drop formed. One drop popped. And rivers of Infinity went silent in one region after another, armies collapsing into red, until whole stretches of THE Ymnaros held no invaders at all!
And in THE Golden Expanse, the grandest of them, his clone had done something else besides.
Through its eyes he had looked out over the cleared plains at thousands of Superpowered Lifeforms rising from their ruins. And past them, sheltered in the heart of the domain, he had seen the grand sprawling citadel that the Superpowered Lifeforms had been defending all this time, tier upon golden tier of it, and the millions of humans within its walls pressed onto every balcony and rampart to see the sky!
His clone had told all of them that he would lead them!
And as they looked up, one after another after another, and pledged themselves to him...
HUUM!
You have increased the stability of a small localized portion of Existence. Your Provenance Essence has increased significantly in concentration.
Your PONDUS has increased by +.5. PONDUS: 7.5
You were Quintessentially true to your existence and have increased the stability of a small localized portion of Existence. Your VERITAS elevated tremendously, but has not been able to climb past the value of 10.
...!
He had received similar prompts not long before, and he visibly felt his power increase as these ones settled, the hum in his depths thickening by a degree that his whole body registered.
But the most important thing was not the numbers. The most important thing was what his existence had communicated to him about the cause.
He had increased the stability of a localized portion of Existence!
And he could feel his existence was fortifying, and deep within him his singularity of Provenance Essence was growing larger and larger in concentration, denser and brighter.
And the growth was his to generate, but due to his actions bringing about the stability of existence itself!
Such a thing interested him greatly.
How were THE First Lifeforms connected to the stability of existence itself?
Everywhere he had ever traveled, existence ran on boundless chaos. Entropy only increased over time. Lifeforms always fought, wars churned realms into dust, and every framework ever built was a temporary argument against a disorder that always, eventually, won the argument.
And yet it seemed the earliest lifeforms, or truly the first lifeforms, became stronger by cutting against that disorder. Their power grew from their own existence generating more of themselves!
He sighed and opened his eyes, and turned to Anaximander beside him.
The scholar nodded to him.
"Everything around THE Ymnaros is stable. We can have a moment to breathe, somewhat."
Noah nodded back, and looked down at the collar on his chest.
He wanted to use his own moment of breathing to take a proper look at this ridiculous cluster of bones of a First Lifeform.
How did it come about? Why would an existence so supremely powerful carve out its own bones and make them into a necklace? Beings hoarded power. Beings defended their bodies above all things. And this one had reached into its own chest and shaped what it found there into an ornament, and left the ornament behind for the ages to kill each other over.
And the more he thought about it, the more special the Superpowered Lifeforms became. Their power, their exemplification, the whole strange lineage of authority-less might that filled this Dimension, traced its origins back to the Panaceas. And the Panaceas actually stemmed from this very necklace, its runoff, its residue, pooling in wells across THE Ymnaros for others to drink.
THE Aurate Collar of the First Purity!
The First Purity now made sense in its name. He simply had to figure out the rest!
And while he did that, there was also his own newly changed existence to attend to. He needed to generate his own system of power, piece by piece, because he had cast out far too many things.
There were weavings he would have to alter as well. The Causes of the First Steed. Potentially the Laestrygonian too, Damodred, bound to him by structures that no longer had anything to bind to.
He would continue to experiment, and see exactly what path he would forge. A path that would be genuinely his, and nobody else’s, from here on out!
One of the bigger puzzles for him to solve remained the Causes.
THE Infiniverse was filled with them, thousands of realms turning on them.
Even one of Those Who Remain, THE Sleepless Fiend, was playing around with Causes in an entire Dimension. Well, really, in multiple Dimensions, if the Laestrygonians were included in the counting. Causes sat beneath everything he had ever climbed, and everything he intended to rule.
He had to generate something of his own that took the place of Causes.
And as he thought of this...
WAA!
Space folded open on the dark sands of what used to be the domain of the final trial, and three figures stepped through, delivered by the scholar’s quiet courtesy at Noah’s earlier request.
Hvitrmarr. Damodred. Ryaenara!
The White Steed came in her humanoid form, white-haired and gold-eyed, the ring pupils fixed on Noah the moment the fold released her. Damodred stood at her flank, and Ryaenara a step apart, and all three of them looked toward Noah with complex gazes, each carrying their own thoughts across the sand.
Hvitrmarr, who had felt her newly established bond dissipate out of her existence.
Damodred, who was bound to Noah, and who now sensed no Causes on him at all!
And Ryaenara.
Noah looked at this woman, vibrant and grand, and a silent thought arose within him.
He may actually be able to cure her little brother.
