I’m Not Going to Be Bullied By a Girl

Chapter 664: My New Condition

Chapter 664: My New Condition

When I awoke, I was lying inside Ai Mi’s RV, being examined by Ai Mi’s personal doctor, Dr. Yu SuiLiang, on a slightly narrow surgical bed by various instruments.

This was the second time I entered the RV’s first aid room. The last time was when I was protecting Ai Mi and got injured by a dead tree.

X-ray machine, cardiac ultrasound machine, UV sterilization light, automatic biochemical analyzer, surgical bed and lighting… looks like there were more equipment than last time.

“You’re awake.”

Dr. Yu usually does not wear those Google glasses when he treats people, which makes him look much more reliable while he is in a white doctor’s gown.

But he still had a cotton swab in his mouth in lieu of a cigarette, which he only just removed when he saw me wake up in order to talk to me.

“Congratulations, your sex change operation was a success…”

If I hadn’t known that he liked to joke with his patients, I would have been absolutely shocked and lifted my pants to check.

I tried to get up, but I felt a sharp pain in my chest, so I had to reluctantly lie down again.

“Ye Lin.” Dr. Yu raised an eyebrow while looking at the various test results, “Do you have a history of heart disease?”

“Heart disease, no way.”

An ominous feeling rose up inside me while answering Dr. Yu in a vicious tone.

Dr. Yu did not really think much of it and continued to speak in a flat tone: “While you were unconscious, you had tachycardia twice, one with a ventricular flutter, so it seems like symptoms of heart disease.”

“Isn’t it because I’m hungry.” I suggested.

“I’ve already given you a dextrose injection and you’re now back to normal blood sugar levels, but there is something in the blood that I’m not sure of…”

“It’s not snake venom?”

“That bite wound on your foot?” Dr. Yu put the printout of the results on the analysis table and took a step closer to me, “The toxin of that snake evolved to target cold-blooded animals. It is very lethal to cold-blooded animals, but it’s practically harmless to warm-blooded animals. The reason why your foot is swollen is because you had a mild allergic reaction.”

I tried moving my left calf, and sure enough, the symptoms were much better. It might have had to do with the fact that Xiao Qin helped me suck out the toxin.

After ruling out other possibilities, I had to admit to Dr. Yu: The blue butterfly, the Blue Moore Armenian butterfly, was eaten by me and I suspected it was a poison.

“There were symptoms of tachycardia immediately after eating it?” Dr. Yu showed a very curious expression, “Did it happen within 3 seconds, or was it after 10 seconds?”

Who would have the leisure to count the seconds after eating an insect? Is there even a big difference between 3 and 10 seconds?

I told Dr. Yu I couldn’t remember, anyway, my symptoms were probably caused by eating the butterfly and being poisoned.

Dr. Yu held his chin and thought for a while, then he re-read the result printouts before saying seriously, “It’s hopeless.”

“Hopeless? Why are you such an irresponsible doctor?” I was so angry that I sat up from the bed, but this time my chest did not sting.

“Even if I really can’t be saved, shouldn’t you have a bit more tact in front of the patient? Why can’t I be saved and how long do I have to live?”

“Since the toxicity of the butterfly is unknown, your life expectancy is also unknown.” Dr. Yu clicked his tongue, then asked irresponsibly, “Is a $500,000 butterfly delicious?”

“Delicious my ass, it’s awful.” I gasped, “Do you really think I’m like Bear Grylls, where everything tastes like chicken.”

I was really anxious and regretful. In a moment of confusion, I ate a tiny butterfly as a meal. It wasn’t even converted into calories and I was also poisoned.

If I got too excited, it felt like I would have a heart attack again. I have always been super confident in my own Spartan physique, but now it made me want to cry.

“It’s a shame about the $500,000.” Dr. Yu misunderstood my expression.

“It doesn’t matter, there will still be chances later.” He made an optimistic gesture towards me, “Ai ShuQiao also set a bounty in Armenia at the same price. After all, it’s the Blue Moore Armenian butterfly, so there would be more of them in Armenia…”

Who has the time to go to Armenia to catch a butterfly? I’ve already had many heart attacks because of this butterfly, what would I do if I die in another country. Also, why is Ai ShuQiao so dead set on getting this butterfly?

I noticed my clothes was still on my body, but my watch, cell phone, and other miscellaneous items were all gone.

I was shocked, but looked around and saw them on an enamel tray on the table, so I calmed down.

I can’t forget to delete the note I left in my phone later. Also, who sent me texts during my disappearance? I was a little curious, so let’s check it later too.

Suddenly it occurred to me that Dr. Yu said, “The butterfly’s toxicity is unknown, so my life expectancy is also unknown”. From this perspective, the note really may not be meaningless.

“Will I die of a heart attack caused by… the butterfly’s toxicity.” I asked Dr. Yu seriously.

“You should have already died.”

“Eh.”

“I mean, I looked over your data again…” Dr. Yu fished a cigarette out of his pocket, but put it back depressingly after thinking about the presence of a patient.

“The intensity of your heart attacks decrease each time. If my guess is not wrong, the first attack right after you ate the butterfly was the most violent, right?”

I nodded, it was the feeling of being incredibly close to death that prompted me to write the note.

“Hm, it’s because your heart is still young and you’ve gone through a long period of physical exercise, so you were able to withstand the first attack… you were lucky…”

“I want to see the composition of your heart muscle with my own eyes, so if you happen to die in front of me, about your remains, can I…”

“I will absolutely not let you autopsy me, just give up.” I yelled, “I’d rather feed it to Obama than give it to you.”

“Young people are so unreasonable.” Dr. Yu calmly wiped away the spittle I sprayed onto his face, his eyes suddenly averted, “The fact that the scale of your attack has been reduced does not mean that you can rest easy. Even if the heart disease caused by the butterfly is cured, there is no guarantee that the toxin will not be transferred to other organs.”

“So…” I said, “I am still in danger of dying in the near future.”

Dr. Yu nodded.

“However, you don’t have to be too pessimistic. I will do everything I can to provide you with first-class treatment conditions, and my sponsor doesn’t want you to die right away yet.”

Ai ShuQiao liked to keep the prey she was interested in alive, so she wouldn’t just let it die until she got tired of playing with it.

“Since the Blue Moore Armenian butterfly is very rare, cases of eating it are even more rare. You are also a rare patient that’s hard to come by, so I will bet my dignity as a doctor to try and cure you.”

Although he was one of Ai ShuQiao’s men, Dr. Yu still said to me with a very endearing enthusiasm.

“I can even put aside my dignity…”

“Wait, you just said you would bet on your dignity, but now you’re putting aside your dignity? Are you trying to cure me to death so that you can perform an autopsy on me?”

“Why don’t young people wait until people finish speaking…” Dr. Yu frowned, “I mean, in order to cure you, I can even put aside my dignity to ask for help from my Stanford colleague, a pharmacology genius known as the ‘Poison King’…”

After Dr. Yu mentioned it, I just remembered when Ai Mi introduced Dr. Yu, she said: “Yu SuiLiang is the most amazing doctor in my Mom’s company, (big gasp) his classmate.”

So that colleague of yours in the best doctor in Ai ShuQiao’s company. If a strange person like you is calling him a genius, then he’s definitely not your average person. Or is it because you have a double doctorate in medicine and engineering, so you’re not as skilled in pharmacology as your colleague, so that’s why you have to ask him for advice in the treatment of my poisoning?

The problem is that his nickname sounds very ominous, “Poison King”. Did he make methamphetamine and sell them to drug dealers to earn extra money?

“In case I can’t even cure you with his help…” Dr. Yu pondered for a while and handed me a leaflet that looked like a science fiction novel pamphlet.

“You can also consider this ‘Human Freezing Resurrection Program’, the minimum period is 20 years, so as long as Miss Ai Mi is willing to help you pay for it…”

Who wants to be a popsicle? All you want to do is further your own plans of making a cyborg! Who knows if only my brain will be left 20 years later for you to transplant into a Terminator robot.

I lowered my voice and pleaded with Dr. Yu: “Um, about my current physical condition, can you can keep it a secret from others?”

“I can’t keep it a secret from my employer.” Dr. Yu told me honestly, “Unless you pay me even more money.”

“There’s no need to keep it a secret from Ai ShuQiao.” I said, “You just have to keep it a secret from my father, my friends, and my classmates.”

After a pause I added, “And especially not to Ai Mi.”

“Okay.” Dr. Yu shrugged, “I’ll help you hide it as long as it doesn’t go against my employer’s will.”

“Just tell them that I was too hungry and that I’m fully recovered now.”

“Are you sure?” Dr. Yu rested his hand on his chin and observed me like some kind of special specimen, “If they fooled around with you without knowing, then your heart…”

“I thought you said each attack would be weaker than the previous one.” I squeezed out a smile, “At most I would suffer a little. It’s better than being treated as someone who will die and crying around me all day long…”
