Chapter 1101 - 683: Reunion and Trap (Part 2)
Chapter 1101: Chapter 683: Reunion and Trap (Part 2)
"Then let’s set off as well."
Guhai waved his hand, signaling the three teams to combine forces and search the mountains together.
San Tuo Mountain was vast, but among the Beastman Warriors were those with keen senses of smell. Once inside the mountain, tracking Qin Tian and his troops through scents and tracks wouldn’t be difficult.
As long as Qin Tian remained in the mountains, he wouldn’t escape their grasp.
"Yes!"
The three teams agreed, and soon began to merge, forming a long line of tens of thousands of Beastman Warriors heading towards San Tuo Mountain.
However, as they entered the mountain range, the atmosphere changed abruptly.
A thin layer of dark fog descended, like a damp, cold cloth draped over their faces, bringing a discomforting cold and damp aura. The nature of this aura was indescribable, not like the Demonic Qi of the Stele Demons, yet carrying an oppressive force that caused many of the scent-sensitive Beastman Warriors to sneeze, some even wrinkling their noses.
The mountains were silent and oppressive, devoid of insect chirps or bird calls, as if even the sound of the wind was swallowed by the dark fog.
In view were only gray rocks, twisted dead trees, and the black outlines hidden in the shadows.
The deeper they went, the more intense the eerie feeling became.
Many Beastmen had long lost their excitement and fervor from before entering the mountain, instead, each one tensed up, their hair slightly standing on end, vigilantly scanning every shadowy corner around them, as if something might leap out from those unseen shadows at any moment.
Guhai stared ahead, his Spiritual Power expanding like a tide, quickly sensing the presence of hundreds of Stele Demons nearby.
These Stele Demons were cautious, not directly attacking but hiding behind rocks, among dead trees, and in ground holes, coldly watching the massive troop like snakes in the shadows, patiently waiting for the moment they let their guard down.
"Amond, have your people find Qin Tian first."
Guhai spoke without looking back, "There are too many Stele Demons in the mountains, try to resolve it quickly."
Only Amond’s subordinates had encountered Qin Tian and sniffed his scent. Other Beastman Warriors could use smell or other senses to find humans, but could not precisely locate Qin Tian.
Their top priority was to eliminate Qin Tian, and if they accidentally alerted him, allowing Qin Tian to detect and escape in advance, it would be difficult to find him again.
After all, Qin Tian was a Spatial Master, able to move freely even within Subspace. To kill him required a swift and decisive action, not giving him any room to react.
"Alright!" Amond raised his voice, turning to look behind him. "Doug, step out!"
Soon, a Kobold briskly stepped forward from behind Amond.
He had a dog’s head, but a human form below the waist, wearing a beast-hide battle skirt, with muscular and robust lines, and a short knife was hanging at his waist.
"Your Highness." The Kobold lowered his head, nervous and trembling. In front of the three Tier Eight Royals, he dared not even breathe heavily, his tail tightly tucked between his legs, his body quivering slightly.
"Lead the way, find Qin Tian." Amond gestured.
"Yes!" The Kobold bent his waist lower then turned and moved briskly in one direction, his nose twitching slightly.
The three Beastman troops closely followed him, their footsteps echoing through the quiet valley.
Yet, the Kobold hadn’t run far—
He suddenly froze, his steps stopped abruptly.
Then, he clutched his throat with both hands, his face turning bluish-purple visibly, frothing at the mouth, his throat issuing a choking "gurgle," as he writhed painfully on the ground, convulsing violently.
Seeing this, Amond and the others’ eyes narrowed.
And like dominoes, one after another, warriors in the Beastman Army began showing the same symptoms—each clutching their throat, eyes bulging, groaning painfully from their throats, then collapsing one by one to the ground, their bodies convulsing and struggling in the dust.
"There’s poison in the air!" Guhai realized something, his face turning grim.
What?!
Amond’s expression changed, and Vilute’s brows furrowed slightly.
They immediately checked their subordinates, finding those with keen senses of smell among the Beastman races—Kobolds, Wolf-men, Fox Race—were now showing signs of poisoning, painfully curled up on the ground.
Those with poor sense of smell, even some naturally anosmic Beastmen, were unaffected at this moment.
Additionally, those above Tier Six among the Beastmen were unaffected; their strong Physique and Spiritual Energy providing enough protection against the poison’s erosion.
"Colorless, odorless poison..." Amond’s eyes turned shadowy, "Is this another one of his tricks?"
Being able to poison the scent-sensitive races indicated this trap was tailor-made for the Beastmen.
The Stele Demons, while not foolish, lacked such methods; this poison must be Qin Tianxia’s.
"Anya."
Guhai suddenly called out.
Then, a Fox Race beauty quickly stepped out from Guhai’s team, wearing a crown woven from various bright flowers, holding a wholly green Magic Staff with a soft glowing Crystal Stone embedded at the top.
Unlike most Fox Race members, her aura wasn’t seductive and charming, instead carrying a sacred and noble air, like a clear spring under the moonlight, pure and untouchable.
Anya walked to the front of the team, raised her Magic Staff, her lips slightly moved, chanting an ancient incantation.
Soon, a golden light scattered from the Crystal Stone at the Magic Staff’s top, like warm golden raindrops, covering all poisoned Beastmen.
Where the golden light reached, those suffering Beastmen immediately regained clarity. The bluish-purple hue on their faces rapidly faded, their breath returned to normal, their hands gently releasing their throats, breathing heavily.
Some Beastmen who recovered quickly were able to sit up, while others lay weakly where they were, but at least they were out of danger.
They all looked towards the Fox Race High Priest, bowing respectfully and gratefully: "Thank you, High Priest."
In Beastman society, there exists an extraordinary profession—Beastman Priest.
Unlike the brave and fierce Beastman Warriors, Priests are not adept at combat but possess vast wisdom and extraordinary abilities.
They can cast Heroic Aura to boost morale in battles, Fanatic Aura to eliminate pain, Blood Regeneration Technique to heal injuries, and more.
In the Beastman Tribe, for a tribe to stand firm, not only are strong warriors needed to defend the race, but a Beastman Priest must also be present to guide the tribe through challenges.
The young Fox Race beauty, though youthful, was already capable of dispelling all the poison from them with a single spell, showcasing abilities of a High Priest.
Regardless of race, Beastman Warriors held immense respect towards the High Priest.
It was a deeply ingrained tradition, a reverence for wisdom and the divine.
The Fox Race beauty didn’t respond to the gratitude, her expression remained calm as she ensured the poisoned Beastmen were out of danger, then quietly retreated behind Guhai.
However, despite the High Priest’s rescue, some Beastmen succumbed to the overwhelming poison before the golden light could descend.
The guide Kobold was among them—he lay curled up, eyes wide open, mouth agape, no longer breathing.
Guhai glanced at the scene; among the three teams, approximately four hundred Beastmen had died.
Without encountering Qin Tian, without engaging in battle, over four hundred elite warriors perished in these mountains.
These warriors hadn’t even glimpsed the enemy, hadn’t heard the enemy’s voice, yet silently and effortlessly lost their lives.
Guhai’s eyes flickered with a hint of dark anger; in his fury, he began to take Qin Tian even more seriously.
A Tier Seven human, not only capable of drawing with Amond in direct combat, but also able to swiftly and precisely set up traps targeting Beastman traits upon entering the mountain.
This person was not only extraordinarily powerful but also deeply cunning.
No wonder Elder Guyun valued him so much, even sending three Tier Eight Royals and thousands of elites to hunt him down.
"All stay alert, keep your Spiritual Body Protection active." Guhai said solemnly, "From now on, be cautious with every step. Qin Tian’s traps may not end here."
The Beastmen nodded, any previous underestimation having vanished, replaced by deep apprehension.
They gripped their Weapons and activated their Spiritual Body Protection, cautiously advancing deeper into San Tuo Mountain.
