Chapter 125 - 109: Sob, My Sister-in-law is So Savage
Chapter 125: Chapter 109: Sob, My Sister-in-law is So Savage
Shu Yao walked over, carrying a pair of small shoes. "Ke, my mother and I are taking my son out. Where are you heading? If you’re going back to school, we can drop you off on the way."
Shu Chao Yu was working the day shift today. Once they left, the house would be empty.
Naturally, Ke Dancheng felt it would be inappropriate to overstay his welcome. "I’m going to the hospital to visit my aunt."
"Which hospital?"
"The Imperial Hospital."
"What a coincidence. We’re heading the same way."
Upon arriving at the Imperial Hospital, they stepped out of the Flying Machine. Ke Dancheng and Shu Yao’s group parted ways, as they were heading to different floors.
Shu Yao and Shu Xin brought Xiao Juzi to the child psychology counseling room. Since they had booked an appointment in advance, they went in without a hitch. A psychologist wearing a white lab coat and a face mask received them. His attitude was quite friendly and amicable. After exchanging greetings, he asked the parents to step out and leave the child inside.
Stepping out of the counseling room, Shu Xin muttered, "Why do I feel like this doctor doesn’t look much like the one I booked...?"
Meanwhile, inside the counseling room, Xiao Juzi sniffed a faint, familiar scent coming from the man in the white coat.
"Ah, I remember now! You’re the uncle in yellow from last time! You’re wearing white today!"
"Baby, you still remember me!" Qin Songlin pulled off his mask, revealing a beaming, flattered smile.
When he found out that the Shu Family had booked a psychologist for Xiao Juzi, he simply couldn’t hold back. Abusing his power, he had disguised himself and taken the place of the original doctor.
Xiao Juzi jumped up and down. "I want to see the wings! I want to see the big wings!"
How could he possibly deny his precious nephew’s wish? Without hesitation, he stripped off his shirt. SWOOSH! He unfurled his massive pair of wings.
"Wow, so cool!" Xiao Juzi was thoroughly envious. His eyes sparkled with excitement, and his fluffy ears and tail twitched in a thrill. "When will I grow wings like yours?"
Qin Songlin gently scratched the boy’s back. "Uncle believes that the wings you grow will definitely be even prettier than mine!"
"When did you grow your wings, Uncle?" the little guy asked, sounding a bit sad. "Do I have to wait until I’m as big as you to get mine?"
Heart aching with affection, Qin Songlin patted his little head. Xiao Juzi didn’t resist at all.
Qin Songlin explained patiently, "Uncle didn’t grow wings until I was a teenager. But in our clan, gifted Beastmen can grow wings at a very young age through proper training."
Hearing this, Xiao Juzi immediately perked up. "Uncle, can you teach me? I’m a fast learner!"
He took off his suspenders, then sequentially pulled off his sweater and undershirt.
Having this kind of "bare-chested" bonding moment with his precious nephew for the first time sent Qin Songlin’s heart pounding wildly. THUMP! THUMP! THUMP! He was so thrilled he nearly scooped the little guy up to fly a few laps outside!
Over at the palace, Empress Yudola received an abnormal heart rate alert from her husband via her Light Brain. She immediately initiated a video call.
Realizing he was busted, Qin Songlin hastily threw his clothes back on, told Xiao Juzi to stay quiet, and scurried out to the balcony to answer Yudola’s call.
"Your Majesty, are you alright?" Yudola asked anxiously. "If you had answered a second later, I would have notified the Royal Guard!"
"I’m perfectly fine!" Qin Songlin flexed in various macho poses to prove it.
Yudola breathed a sigh of relief. "I just received data showing your heart rate was abnormal. It scared me half to death..."
"Sigh, you’re always overreacting."
"I only do it because I care about you!"
...
Completely forgotten, Xiao Juzi wandered around the counseling room, bored out of his mind. Noticing a door left ajar, he curiously slipped out. Over twenty minutes later, Qin Songlin returned, only to tragically discover that the child was gone.
Waiting outside the counseling room, the more Shu Yao thought about it, the more something felt wrong. Shouldn’t a guardian be present during child psychological counseling? After all, a toddler not even three years old wasn’t a rebellious teenager or a complex adult. What kind of privacy could a baby possibly need?
Combined with Shu Xin’s earlier murmurs, Shu Yao suspected that the person in the counseling room wasn’t the psychologist they had booked at all! What kind of psychologist wore such a massive mask during therapy, acting as if they were terrified of showing their face? How could someone who acted like a psychiatric patient themselves treat others?
Shu Yao burst into the counseling room. Seeing Qin Songlin holding a very familiar little undershirt, she instantly flew into a rage! Storming forward, she grabbed him by the throat and literally lifted the full-grown man completely off the ground!
"Misunderstanding! It’s a misunderstanding!" Qin Songlin scrambled to explain. "I didn’t do anything inappropriate to your son! This shirt..."
This discarded little shirt... there was simply no way to explain it away! Unless he revealed his true identity! But Shu Yao might get even angrier!
Ahhh! Help!!!
Shu Yao’s expression was as cold as frost. Her eyes were dark, and her tone was terrifyingly icy. "I believe I already had someone warn you! Yet you still dare to pull these sneaky little stunts on my son!"
Although Shu Yao had never met His Majesty in person, she instantly deduced his identity the moment she saw the face under the mask, which bore a striking resemblance to Qin Shiwei.
Qin Songlin never expected his cover to be blown so easily. He hastily scrambled to pull up a credential on his Light Brain—a certificate for the highest degree in child psychology.
"Shu Yao, I’m a professional too! Really, believe me!"
Shu Yao released her grip and dropped him.
Qin Songlin clutched his aching neck, only to hear Shu Yao sneer coldly. "If you like children so much, have your own! If you aren’t capable of that, then stop obsessing over someone else’s flesh and blood!"
Qin Songlin looked incredibly aggrieved. Sob... Shu Yao was so ruthless!
Scanning the room, Shu Yao noticed Xiao Juzi was missing. She shot Qin Songlin a freezing glare, demanding to know where the child was.
Realizing he had utterly botched the situation, Qin Songlin didn’t dare utter a single cowardly word. He simply used his supreme clearance to pull up the Imperial Hospital’s security footage via the mainframes.
From the video feed, they could see that after slipping out, Xiao Juzi had wandered off to another floor.
