Chapter 548: Shen Yuan’s Official Announcement Copy
She mumbled something indistinctly, but her fingertips unconsciously moved to tap the photo, wanting to get a closer look.
Shen Yuan keenly noticed her hesitation and subtle movements, the smile in his eyes growing wider.
“We’re just getting started. I think we’re pretty photogenic!”
He excitedly raised his phone again. “Li Bao, look at the camera! Should we try another pose?”
This time, Li Zhi didn’t immediately object, nor did she hit him. She hesitated for a moment, then her body honestly leaned a little closer to him, her gaze returning to the phone’s camera.
The beautiful girl tried hard to suppress the uncontrollable upward curve of her lips, trying to make her expression look colder, but the sparkle in her eyes and the slight blush on her earlobes betrayed her true feelings.
CLICK!
The shutter clicked for the third time.
In the frame was Li Zhi’s aloof profile, showing a trace of forced composure that couldn’t quite conceal her bashfulness. Beside her was the profile of a boyish Shen Yuan, who was looking at her, unable to hold back a brilliant smile at her cute act.
The light still favored them.
The two of them huddled in front of the small phone screen, carefully examining the new photo.
The lingering chill in the classroom seemed to be driven away by the warmth radiating from the phone screen and their two bodies pressed together.
“Tsk, this one looks good too.”
Shen Yuan muttered under his breath, his finger unconsciously swiping back and forth between the two photos. He compared them as if admiring some priceless treasure, a smile never leaving his lips.
“Send me the photos.”
Li Zhi didn’t reply, but she also didn’t ask him to delete them this time. She quietly unlocked her own phone, her fingers moving slightly to open her photo album.
A few seconds later, a notification that she had received an image popped up on her screen.
Shen Yuan had sent her the selfies they just took.
Her fingertip tapped the screen, and she silently saved the two photos.
‘Hmm… Before I post to my Moments, I should have a few options to choose from, right? Besides, the pictures… aren’t that bad, I guess.’
A few more crisp clicks from the camera’s shutter seemed to inject a vibrant warmth into the cold classroom.
Like explorers discovering a new continent, Shen Yuan and Li Zhi huddled in front of the small phone screen, carefully comparing the selfies they had just taken.
“This angle is great. It makes your face look smaller,” Shen Yuan said, pointing to a photo where they were both smiling brightly.
“…This one is clearly better. Your smile isn’t as goofy.”
Though Li Zhi sounded disdainful, her fingertips swiped briskly across the screen. Her eyes lingered on the photos, and the corners of her mouth curled up uncontrollably.
Watching her focused expression as she chose, Shen Yuan’s eyes were filled with a smile so deep it seemed it would never fade.
Li Zhi held up the phone, trying out various poses.
She’d intentionally put on a straight face to make Shen Yuan pout, lean on his shoulder with her head tilted slightly, or have Shen Yuan’s arm around her shoulder with his chin resting gently on the top of her head…
Every click of the shutter was accompanied by small gasps or playful, teasing complaints.
“Li Zhi, your expression control is subpar!”
“Shut up! You’re the one who insisted on getting so close!”
“Look at the camera, Li Bao, not at me!”
“You idiot, you’re blocking the light!”
The air was filled with a sweet magnetic field that only they understood.
Watching their blatant intimacy, Ah Jie, who was sitting nearby, couldn’t help but call it “sappy.”
Yang Ze, on the other hand, wore a nonchalant expression that seemed to say, “I’m used to it. I want to be in a relationship too.”
Just as Li Zhi was complaining once again about Shen Yuan blocking the light, and he was reaching out to help her adjust the angle, a clear, gentle voice, brimming with irrepressible excitement, cut in.
“Do you want me to take the picture for you?”
He Zhiyu looked at Shen Yuan and Li Zhi with eager anticipation.
Seeing the little author’s eager expression, Shen Yuan and Li Zhi exchanged a glance. Finally, Li Zhi nodded and handed her phone to her best friend.
He Zhiyu excitedly took the phone.
For a fleeting moment, the little author felt as if she had truly entered the world of Defend and Steal.
Seeing this, Zhuo Peipei, who was nearby, also volunteered and came closer.
“Let me direct! I’ll direct the poses!”
Zhuo Peipei looked at Shen Yuan and Li Zhi, her face full of excitement. “I, Zhuo Peipei, have read countless novels!”
Under Zhuo Peipei’s direction, Shen Yuan and Li Zhi struck a few poses that were within Li Zhi’s range of acceptance.
As time passed, more people started trickling into the classroom. Shen Yuan and Li Zhi felt they had taken enough photos; it would take forever to sort through them all!
Finally, He Zhiyu suddenly said, “Zhizhi, Shen Yuan! You guys should make a heart sign!”
As she spoke, He Zhiyu and Zhuo Peipei exchanged a look, then both raised their arms to form a large heart shape.
“A heart sign?!!”
Li Zhi’s voice shot up an octave, filled with disbelief.
“That’s so corny!”
He Zhiyu gave her a look that said ‘you don’t get it’. “A classic never goes out of style! Just try it, it’ll be so sweet!”
To Li Zhi’s surprise, Shen Yuan, who was beside her, grinned, his eyes full of anticipation. “I think we should give it a try! Li Bao?”
He looked at Li Zhi, his gaze full of encouragement.
“You…” Li Zhi’s face turned beet red because of the two of them.
Looking at Shen Yuan’s enthusiastic expression and meeting He Zhiyu’s passionate gaze, her slight resistance slowly faded away.
‘Now that we’re officially a couple,’ she thought, ‘taking a “corny” photo together… doesn’t seem completely unacceptable, does it?’
‘It’s just… so embarrassing!’
“Tsk…”
Li Zhi let out an ambiguous little huff and muttered, almost inaudibly, “So childish…”
But she didn’t explicitly object again. Instead, her body subtly shifted into a cooperative stance.
“Get ready!”
Seeing that Li Zhi hadn’t refused, He Zhiyu’s face immediately lit up with excitement. She raised the phone and started directing them like a professional photographer.
