Chapter 353 - 191: It’s Raining, What to Do With Only 1 Umbrella?
Actually, it wasn't just He Zhiyu.
When Zhou Shaojie, Yang Ze, and the others who had just walked in saw the scene, they all froze for a moment.
Then, they hastily retreated back into the hallway.
"This is a huge problem," Zhou Shaojie said with a straight face.
Yang Ze nodded. "Shen Yuan, that bastard, has definitely abandoned the group."
"If you're going to say that, Ah Jie wants to abandon the group too," Sun Xiansheng said, pointing at Ah Jie. "And we're even helping him do it."
Hearing this, the corner of everyone's mouth twitched.
Yang Ze slumped against the hallway railing and sighed dramatically. "Sigh... How can a father not care for his son?"
Zhou Shaojie pounced on him.
"I'll wreck you!"
"Ah! Brother Jie, no! Stop, Brother Jie!"
Seeing this, Chen Mingyu shook his head and took off his glasses. "You guys are hopeless."
Lethal Tempo!
Before Chen Mingyu could even stack his Lethal Tempo, he felt Sun Xiansheng's body heat from behind.
Who could possibly resist the joy of a hallway dogpile?
Listening to the commotion coming from behind the frosted glass, Shen Yuan shook his head.
'These moronic high school boys are really...'
"I'm going to get some water. Do you want any?"
"Mhm," Li Zhi nodded, handing her water bottle to Shen Yuan.
After leaving his seat, Shen Yuan didn't go straight to the water cooler.
He listened to the increasingly intense commotion in the hallway and sighed helplessly. "A bunch of idiots."
"Shit! Get off my leg!"
"Who's jabbing me in the kidneys!"
"Holy shiiit~ Stop it, Brother Jie! Stooop!"
Yang Ze, pressed against the railing, shrieked, "Stop pushing, stop pushing! I'm gonna puke, I'm gonna puke!"
The moment Yang Ze's words fell, a furious roar came from behind him.
"Eat my Phase Rush!"
Before the words even faded, a powerful impact came from behind, and with a loud yelp, Yang Ze was slammed flat against the railing.
"Holy shit! Shen Yuan! You traitor!"
Without pausing after the collision, Shen Yuan used the rebound force to launch himself off Sun Xiansheng's back and bolted toward the classroom.
He ignored the furious shouts from Yang Ze and the chaotic curses from Zhou Shaojie and the others behind him. In a few steps, he rushed back to the classroom's rear door, slammed it shut, and completely sealed off the chaotic "dogpile" battlefield in the hallway.
After all that, Shen Yuan, holding a water bottle in each hand, patted his clothes to straighten them out.
The look of helpless disgust hadn't quite faded from the boy's face, but it was now mixed with the smug satisfaction of a successful prank. He then walked straight to the water cooler at the back of the classroom.
"Here."
Shen Yuan walked over to Li Zhi's desk and nonchalantly handed her water bottle back to her.
"Mhm, just put it down."
Li Zhi didn't even look up, continuing with her homework.
The girl seemed completely unaware of, and uninterested in, the farce that had just occurred in the hallway and Shen Yuan's part in it.
The bell for the evening self-study session rang, and the classroom gradually quieted down, leaving only the rustling sound of pen tips gliding across paper.
Li Zhi was engrossed in her work, her thoughts navigating a sea of practice problems.
After some time, a dry, itchy feeling tickled her throat, making her subconsciously stop writing.
Glancing at the water bottle on the corner of her desk, Li Zhi picked it up without much thought and took a sip.
The warm water, at just the right temperature, slid down her throat, instantly soothing her parched thirst.
Li Zhi's fingers paused for a moment on the side of the bottle, and her gaze drifted unconsciously toward Shen Yuan next to her.
Sensing her gaze, Shen Yuan turned to look at her as well.
A faint smile played on the boy's lips as he asked in a low voice, "What are you looking at? You don't really think I didn't know, do you?"
Shen Yuan leaned in slightly and whispered, "Someone's period is coming up, so I made sure to get you warm water. What do you think? Pretty thoughtful, right?"
Li Zhi immediately whipped her head away, pretending to solve a problem, but she huffed, "Hmph! Who asked for your help? I'm not a child."
But her fingers unconsciously caressed the side of the bottle, her touch a little gentler than usual.
Seeing her reaction, Shen Yuan chuckled. He knew her tsundere side was acting up again.
Suddenly, Shen Yuan couldn't resist teasing her a bit more. He said with a cheeky grin, "Yes, yes, which is why you should be well aware that you can't have any ice cream for a while."
The moment she heard that, Li Zhi whipped her head around to glare fiercely at him and retorted petulantly, "So what if I can't! You think I care?"
Her reaction only spurred him on. Grinning mischievously, he said provokingly, "But I can eat it. I can eat two bars."
Hearing this, Li Zhi took a sharp breath and stomped directly on Shen Yuan's foot.
"You're just asking for it, aren't you!"
"Go ahead and step on it, Li Bao," Shen Yuan said through gritted teeth. "I bought these AJs just for you to step on."
Hearing this, Li Zhi slowly pulled her foot back, a look of pure cringe on her face.
"Shen Yuan, your stale memes need an update as badly as your IQ does."
With that, a sly smile appeared on Li Zhi's face. The girl whispered, "You keep bringing up being stepped on. I suggest you think back to what you were watching this afternoon..."
Just as the keyword was about to slip past her lips, Shen Yuan leaned forward in an almost reflexive movement. His right hand moved so fast it was a blur, clamping over the small mouth that was about to continue speaking.
"Mmph!"
Caught completely off guard, Li Zhi's beautiful almond eyes widened in an instant, staring at Shen Yuan with a mixture of shock and faint anger.
The boy could clearly feel the warm, soft press of her lips and her breath against his palm. Only then did he realize what he had just done.
"Uh... um..."
Shen Yuan tried to explain, but his mind went blank. For a moment, he didn't know whether he should let go of the hand covering Li Zhi's mouth or keep it there.
