Chapter 120: Forgive Him a little bit (1)
Mrs. Huo felt her mind in total blank instantly as if a humming sound burst in her ears. If Mr. Huo hadn’t given her a hand in time, her staggering body would have fallen to the ground on the spot.
She raised her pale face to look at Huo Qu in disbelief, shivering with her words, “My son! What do you want? What on earth do you want?”
Born with different characters from normal kids, Huo Qu had received the most favor from Mrs. Huo naturally among his brothers. Ever since his young age, he had never encountered any scold, let alone a single embarrassing beating.
But today, his mother took off her original gentle appearance and stared at Huo Qu with a pair of aggressive eyes, “You’d better make it clear to me!”
Huo Qu was unaware of his mother’s sudden fury. He just looked at Mrs. Huo blankly and repeated, “I like Qinghuan, and I want to be with him forever.”
At the thought of Yu Qinghuan, Huo Qu’s heart was like soaking in sweet and soft honey. His left shy face showed that little round dimple, and he whispered, “I want him to see me as soon as he gets home.”
“Oh, you shut up!” Mrs. Huo’s tears welled up in her eyes. She gave a collapsing sob and suddenly rushed to the front of Huo Qu, raising her hand to slap him. “You are not allowed to go anywhere! Stay at your home! You are grounded. Understand?”
“Mom!”
“Miaomiao!”
Both Mr. Huo and Huo Rong were surprised by her slap on Huo Qu. They froze for a moment and hurriedly pulled her away.
“What are you doing?” Mr. Huo hugged her tightly to prevent her from doing some mad stuff again, yelling in her ear in a low voice, “Calm down, you might frighten your son, let’s go back to our room and have a talk.”
“I’m not going anywhere!” Mrs. Huo looked at Huo Qu with tearful eyes and kept sobbing. The fact was too much a burden for her, “How could this happen? There must be a mistake on my Qu!”
Being different from normal kids since childhood, her youngest son had suffered a lot of pain and ridicule. Loneliness paved the way for his growing up.
Now he finally had some signs of returning to normal life, learning to care about others and developing his own friendship. However, as she became gratified and thought that one day her son would lead a normal life, a bolt from the blue suddenly woke her up from her dream.
Huo Qu actually told her that he was in love with a man! How could she accept this?
It was an even harder road. If Huo Qu chose it, he would be hurt hundreds of times more than before. Huo Qu was her flesh and blood, the son she raised by herself. How could she have the heart to watch him go astray!?
Mrs. Huo’s sanity recovered slightly. She pushed his husband aside and walked before Huo Qu. Just as she was about to speak, a long-fingered, bony hand reached toward her.
“Mom, don’t cry.” Huo Qu carefully wiped the tears on her face, his beautiful black eyes revealed a trace of panic. “Am I making you angry? I’m sorry.”
His hair was messy and his perplexed face was marked by fingernail scratches. But he didn’t notice his situation at all and only clumsily tried to comfort his mother, “Mom, don’t cry.”
This was the first time Huo Qu had reacted to the emotion changes of his family. Mrs. Huo’s heart was both bitter and sweet. What a mixed feeling!
Tears fell uncontrollably down her face. She touched the wound on her little son’s face with regret. All her anger and shock were forgotten, leaving only her love for her son.
“Mom is fine, don’t worry. Does your face hurt?”
Huo Qu nodded honestly, “Yes.”
“It’s mom’s fault, mom shouldn’t have hit you,” Mrs. Huo blamed herself so much. She choked out a cry and even wanted to break off her fingers that slapped on her son.
Seeing his wife’s mood finally stabilized, Mr. Huo winked at Huo Rong, “Huo Rong, take Qu to the living room to apply some medicine.”
Huo Rong nodded knowingly and pulled Huo Qu out of the room.
After the two brothers left, Mr. Huo turned to Mrs. Huo, “Miaomiao, you scared our son.” He disapproved of her reactions.
“Honey,” Mrs. Huo tightly clutched Mr. Huo’s wrist as if seeking for strength to support herself, “What should our son do? Is it possible…he has fallen in love with that Yu Qinghuan?”
She murmured in disbelief, “What happened to the two boys?”
Mr. Huo’s face was as solemn as a mask, he heavily sighed after a long time silence, “I don’t know.” He paused, holding Mrs. Huo’s hands, “But frankly, I actually not so oppose them like you do.”
“Why?” Mrs. Huo stared at him with her eyes wide open and brushed off his hands. Her voice was quite stern, “Do you think it is good for your son to be gay? Do you have any idea how people would laugh at and make fun of him?”
“Miaomiao, calm down,” Mr. Huo closed the door tightly and continued, “I don’t know what Yu Qinghuan thinks, but if the two of them can really live together a lifetime, it’s actually not bad.”
“I even have no guts to picture that one day my Qu will have friends and even a lover.” His expression was complicated, and he touched the gloves from Huo Qu in his pocket, “But since Yu Qinghuan has appeared, our Qu has changed. I am really glad to think that our Qu is no longer lonely.”
“Haven’t you noticed that?” Mr. Huo reached out his hand and pinned Mrs. Huo’s wet hair behind her ears, sighing, “Yu Qinghuan might be our Qu’s destiny.”
From their first encountering, every change of his youngest son was due to Yu Qinghuan. Even if he felt frustrated, he had to admit that Yu Qinghuan was unique in Huo Qu’s heart.
