I Found A Planet

On the 4th of December, in Shang Hai City, the first Star Cloud Developer Convention was about to begin. “Ningshuang Studio,” who received an email invitation, could send at most five participants to this convention.

Liu Xiao Ping and the others would definitely not let the quota go to waste. He, Xu Ningshuang and Song Xiaoling, the three elders of the studio, in addition with two employees who had good performance, boarded the plane and arrived in Shang Hai full of excitement and anticipation. Coming out from the arrivals, the reception crew arranged by the organizer was already waiting, and their accommodation was swiftly arranged. Moreover, developer teams entitled to a prize could stay in Xing Hai Headquarter’s guest room. Thus, Liu Xiao Ping, Xu Ningshuang, and the others stayed in the edifice, which was seemingly embroidered within science fiction.

It was an absolute eye-opener! Liu Xiao Ping and the others had never stayed in such a unique “guest room.”

Within the silver and white themed room, after having walked through the room, Liu Xiao Ping said, “Including the toilet, this room is at most 16 square meters. It is just like a spaceship’s cabin, simply furnished but very practical.” Looking at Xu Ningshuang, who was currently having some difficulty to get herself on the bed while holding on to her tummy, Liu Xiao Ping went over and helped her. He said, “Ningshuang, the environment here might not be suitable for you, why don’t we go stay outside? The organizer said that there are a few five-star hotels nearby.”

“That won’t be necessary!” Xu Ningshuang waved her hands, “I’ve looked at the room service records. Robots will come to clean the room once every day. They use all sorts of tools and have made this place spotless, even the bedsheets were cleaned and disinfected at a very strict standard. There’s no problem with this place. Let’s just stay here. It is said that this place fulfills the standards of living in space, so there will definitely be no problem.”

Moreover, this was a rare opportunity. It was difficult for normal people to even enter the Xing Hai Headquarters, and they actually had the chance to spend two nights in it. This was worth to be valued and would also be an unforgettable experience. Besides, after seven o’clock every night, a jaw-dropping image could be seen within the Xing Hai Headquarters. Many of Xing Hai Technologies’ employees chose to work overtime until seven at night just to see the “spaceship liftoff” before they left work.

On Dou Yin Videos and other short video sharing websites, there were already thousands of shocking videos posted by Xing Hai Technologies’ internal staff, and they were nowhere near to getting bored of it.

“After the spaceship’s liftoff, I initially thought that the picture displayed on each side of the glass would almost be the same, but in fact, it is not. Every side of the glass display is showing something completely different! You will need to see the imagery from more than 1,000 angles to roughly picture the entire starry sky,” said a Xing Hai Technologies employee.

More than a thousand angles? Different imagery? Liu Xiao Ping shook his head. This kind of super-large area display technology surpassed his imagination. Coincidently, there was a window in the room he was living in which was an OLED display.

At 7 o’clock at night, after the sky outside completely darkened, in the originally transparent window, he suddenly realized that the scenery was moving backward. A whirl of dust swirled around. Amongst a rumbling sound, the view outside the glass window became an infinitely vast abyss filled with bright stars and galaxies.

“Is this a little… too real?” Xu Ningshuang walked to the window, carrying the same expression as Liu Xiao Ping. “I finally understand why Xing Hai Technologies’ employees are still not going home even though it is so late, and why some people aren’t bored of it even after watching it hundreds of times.”

Liu Xiao Ping sighed, “How small and insignificant are we before such a starry sky? But it doesn’t prevent us from looking upon its greatness. If I could work at such a company and see such a view every day, I would not job hop even if someone else offers me one billion dollars. Aside from Xing Hai Technologies, no other company could enliven my thoughts more.”

Xu Ningshuang gave her man a weird look. She never thought that he could come out with such classy words. “Not bad.” She nodded and agreed with him, “This should be Xing Hai Technologies’ high-mindedness. There’s no way I would leave after being smeared with such greatness every day. If our studio were to grow bigger and become a company, we could adapt this idea of Xing Hai Technologies… it is indeed much classier than high-mindedness conveyed solely through the mouth.”

Liu Xiao Ping was startled. He looked at his woman, stunned. Becoming big. The high-mindedness of Xing Hai Technologies. Were these something that could be fathomed by small figures such as they? He would be content with just an ordinary appearance for his company. Xing Hai Technologies for them was a god-like existence, it would be difficult to attain even a millionth of them.

On the second day, the first Star Cloud Developer Convention officially began. The event was divided into a total of three sessions. The first session was about introducing the accomplishments of the Star Cloud operating system. The Star Cloud OS was now at version 2.2 which was enhanced with greater functions. It could now even automatically generate applications such as the “Work Assistant 3.0” according to the needs of developers.

The second session was prize-giving. Awards were given to excellent developer teams that made outstanding contributions as an official token of encouragement and appreciation in gratitude of their hard work to perfect the Star Cloud operating system’s software ecosystem for its full-out promotion. The awards included “Most Popular Award,””Most User Award,””Most Innovative Award,””Best Game Award,” and some ten other awards.

The award Liu Xiao Ping and his team acquired was the “User Rating Award”… their “Tree of Baby’s Highlights” app obtained an average rating of 9.7, which was the highest among all Star Cloud applications. They got themselves a gold trophy and a 200-thousand-dollar cash prize. Liu Xiao Ping, Xu Ningshuang, and the others all went to the podium to receive the award and were cast in the limelight, especially Xu Ningshuang, who was pregnant. After knowing that she was the founder of ‘Ningshuang Studio,’ the host couldn’t help but ask, “Mrs. Xu, not only are you an excellent female programmer, you should be the only mother-to-be in this convention. The application you developed is very popular among mothers and that would imply that you have a beautiful heart. I would like to ask you, do you have any wishes for your future child, or to say… a dream? Do you wish for your child to follow your footsteps and become an amazing programmer?”

“No.” Xu Ningshuang shook her head. She held her belly and said, “I hope that my child inherits my company and makes it bigger, as big as Xing Hai Technologies. Build an edifice similar to the Xing Hai edifice, hold a convention like what we have today, hand out awards to the others, and ask the others of their dreams.”

“Hahaha.”

“Hahahaha!”

The audience burst into laughter while some even leaned forward laughing. In the end, they all applauded her out of goodwill.

Ningshuang Studio, it was an unpopular little studio. But Xu Ningshuang’s big words made a deep impression in the others. The rise of many small figures was just as so. As long as they dared to imagine, as long as they were provided with a stage, many years later, they would become the “big figure” that everyone else was talking about.
