High Martial: My Time Stop is Not Quite Right

Chapter 62: Resolution

Chapter 62: Chapter 62: Resolution

The man known as Old Tian reached Fang Chen in just a few strides. Without any flashy moves, he threw a right punch directly at Fang Chen’s face, accompanied by a Wind Breaker sound!

The punch was not slow, infused with his newly cultivated True Qi. If it had hit an ordinary high school student, they would likely be knocked out cold instantly.

However, the moment his fist was about to touch the tip of Fang Chen’s nose, Fang Chen moved.

Striking first despite moving second!

Fang Chen’s right hand shot out like a phantom. Its speed was so incredible that almost no one present could clearly track the movement!

Old Tian’s vision blurred. His fist was instantly blocked by an irresistible, tremendous force. Immediately after, an overwhelming True Qi pressure—several times purer and thicker than his own—crashed into him!

"Oh no!"

Beneath his sunglasses, Old Tian’s eyes went wide. His heart plummeted in terror.

One move was all it took to recognize a true master. From this single point of contact, he realized with absolute clarity that this overly young student’s strength was far above his own!

He was absolutely in the True Martial Realm, and an elite among them at that!

BUZZ. His mind reeled. His earlier imposing aura vanished in an instant, replaced by a gripping, immense fear. For a moment, he froze in place, unsure whether to immediately beg for mercy or turn and flee.

In that split second of hesitation, Fang Chen’s palm—the same one that had blocked the punch—slid forward and locked precisely onto Old Tian’s neck like an iron vise!

The next second, Old Tian felt an irresistible, massive force pull him. His feet left the ground, and his world spun dizzily!

WHOOSH—BANG!

Grabbed by the neck with just one hand, his sturdy body was swung in a half-circle like a piece of trash. He was hurled right over the crowd of onlookers, crashing heavily onto the smooth floor several meters away. He slid a long distance and passed out instantly without so much as a groan.

The entire nightclub hall plunged into a deathly silence.

Everyone stared, dumbfounded, at the young man who stood perfectly still in his original spot, looking as though he had merely swatted away a fly.

"It’s pitch black indoors, yet you still try to show off by wearing sunglasses. Next time, make sure you can see clearly before making a move." Fang Chen flicked his wrist, his tone flat.

At the exact same time Old Tian had attacked, Chen’s two other lackeys had also made their move. One grabbed a wooden stool nearby, while the other drew a short steel pipe. Acting almost on instinct, they charged forward to back Old Tian up or land a cheap shot in the chaos.

Unfortunately for them, Fang Chen had dispatched Old Tian far too quickly.

By the time they reached Fang Chen, all they saw was Old Tian flying through the air like a dead dog. Their forward momentum came to a screeching halt. The fierce expressions on their faces were instantly replaced by stark terror. Subconsciously, they even wanted to turn around and sprint back.

They knew Old Tian’s strength better than anyone; he could beat the two of them as easily as playing a game. If they had witnessed Old Tian being instantly defeated even a second earlier, they absolutely never would have charged out!

They wailed inwardly, "Damn it, we rushed in too fast!"

Fang Chen looked at the two men frozen before him, caught in a dilemma. A smirk tugged at the corner of his lips. "What? Are you two practicing five-meter shuttle runs here?"

Their calves turned to jelly under his gaze, and their hands trembled around their weapons.

Fang Chen stepped forward and reached out, directly grasping the steel pipe tightly held by one of the men. The moment the lackey felt Fang Chen’s hand touch the pipe, he was so terrified that he instantly released his grip, as if the metal were scalding hot.

The steel pipe fell effortlessly into Fang Chen’s hand. Under everyone’s horrified gazes, Fang Chen gripped the middle of the pipe with one hand and squeezed his five fingers with sudden force.

CREAK—!

The sound of twisting metal rang out! With nothing but his bare flesh, he forcefully crushed the center of the steel pipe, causing it to cave in and twist out of shape!

Then, using both hands as if kneading dough, Fang Chen rolled and squeezed the steel pipe back and forth in his palms!

CLANG... SCREECH...

Amidst the ear-piercing noise, the steel pipe rapidly deformed and crumpled, ultimately being kneaded into an irregular lump of scrap metal.

The two lackeys were scared out of their wits. THUMP. They dropped straight to their knees, kowtowing repeatedly. "Have mercy, master! Please spare our lives!"

Meanwhile, Chen, who was standing in the back, had turned from pale green to paper white. Cold sweat instantly soaked through the back of his shirt.

Fang Chen casually smashed the iron lump into the face of one of the kneeling lackeys, leaving him with a bloody nose but too terrified to utter a single sound.

"If you don’t have the guts, don’t pretend to be gangsters."

Then, his icy gaze shifted toward Chen. Meeting Fang Chen’s eyes, Chen’s body shuddered. He squeezed out a smile that looked uglier than crying, his voice utterly dry. "Mis... misunderstanding... Bro, it’s all a misunderstanding... Haha..."

He looked at Li Dehui as if pleading for help, his tone begging. "Fei... Feifei, I... I’ve always treated you well, haven’t I? I never skimped on your tips... Could... could you help me talk to your brother? I promise! I, Chen Fugui, swear to the heavens that I will absolutely never bother you again!"

Seeing Chen, who had been arrogant and domineering just moments ago, reduced to this state, Li Dehui’s heart softened. She walked up to Fang Chen and gently tugged at his sleeve. "Chen’Er, maybe... maybe we should just let this go?"

Fang Chen nodded, his tone softening a bit. "Sister, I know what you mean."

He understood Aunt Dehui’s thoughts, but that didn’t mean he would easily let this hidden danger off the hook. He turned his attention back to Chen Fugui, his tone carrying a bone-chilling coldness.

"Earlier you said that this nightclub can’t protect my sister twenty-four-seven, right? Then do you think... I can protect my sister forever?"

Chen Fugui’s scalp went numb. He quickly waved his hands. "You can! You absolutely can! Bro, don’t misunderstand, I was just talking big and blowing hot air earlier! I’m a coward, I wouldn’t even dare kill a chicken!"

Fang Chen ignored his excuses and continued, "Then, Chen..."

"Don’t! Don’t use titles! Call me Chen Fugui, or just call me Chen!" Chen Fugui hastily corrected him.

"Alright, Chen Fugui." Fang Chen went with the flow. "Let me ask you this. Do you think... you can keep this many people by your side every hour of the day?"

Hearing this, Chen Fugui broke out into an even fiercer cold sweat. He obviously understood the implication behind Fang Chen’s words. With the kind of individual martial prowess this young man had just displayed, taking him out would be a piece of cake.

The only reason he wasn’t doing it now was because he was mindful of the setting; he didn’t want the trouble of killing someone in broad daylight in front of an audience. But if later, when he was alone, or walking through some deserted alleyway... if this guy suddenly jumped out, he would have absolutely no power to fight back!

Imagining that scenario, Chen Fugui’s legs gave way. THUMP. He dropped to his knees as well, crying out in a tearful voice.

"Have mercy, great master! I... I really know I was wrong! I’ll never dare do it again! Please be magnanimous and spare me!"

Fang Chen watched him with cold eyes. He pondered his next moves.

"First, I must exert enough pressure and present a severe threat to instill genuine fear so he won’t dare seek revenge later. Otherwise, there will be endless trouble.

"Second, I can’t push him into a corner where a desperate dog bites back. I am not afraid, but Aunt Dehui still has to live and work here. Forging a blood feud is unnecessary."

Therefore, he hadn’t chosen to heavily injure Chen Fugui to establish his dominance. As long as the man was fearful, he wouldn’t easily try to make things difficult for Aunt Dehui again.

Furthermore, in all fairness, Fang Chen felt that in this particular matter, Chen Fugui was to some extent a victim as well. Aunt Dehui’s behavior—taking money without offering any substantial response—would be classified as being a gold digger, based on the standards of his past life.

Of course, he also knew that his aunt did this for his sake, so he couldn’t exactly fault her.

Ultimately, Fang Chen did not lay a hand on Chen Fugui. He merely pointed at the scattered banknotes on the floor and said coldly, "Pick up the money."
