Chapter 892: Chapter 911: Eating My Food Comes at a Price!
The nights on Federation Star were always so bright. There weren’t many stars in the sky, but the neon lights on the ground, the colorful glows in the distance, and the school’s perpetually illuminated library constantly made their presence known.
After catching up with her roommates, Qiuqiu went to the bathroom to take a call under everyone’s watchful eyes. Being so secretive about it, the caller was obviously that mysterious boyfriend of hers.
Qiuqiu smiled and confirmed their suspicions. Who else could it be but her mysterious, secretly pouty boyfriend?
The moment the call rang, it was immediately answered. After a couple of shaky movements, the man’s familiar face instantly filled the screen. However, he only looked up for a second before quickly lowering his head to continue working.
"Are you busy?" Qiuqiu asked.
He hummed in acknowledgment. "I just got back. There’s quite a bit to do, so I’m handling it now."
"Looks like I’m bothering you a bit~"
Mo Si said, "You’re not bothering me. I’m officially off work. It’s after-hours, and I’m just working overtime.
"Hearing my girlfriend’s voice while working overtime only makes me very happy."
He could be quite strange sometimes. If she said "I like you," his face would turn as red as an overripe peach, and his flustered ears and tail would pop out, completely impossible to hide. But without ever uttering the words "like" or "love," he could casually toss out phrases like "kisses," "cuddles," "you are the most important," or "seeing you makes me so happy," as naturally as eating or drinking. He always used such an ordinary tone to say the most heart-fluttering things.
"Is that so? Then I’ll just keep making noise!"
"Mhm."
Back in Q3, the situation had been tense. There were many issues to handle, circumstances were severe, and the atmosphere was rarely relaxed. Although the two frequently saw each other, they could never escape official business. Now that they were back, Qiuqiu and Mo Si’s conversations had become much more casual.
"Are you okay with the Cabinet?"
"I’m fine." Mo Si looked up. "They are each out for their own gain. They’re disorganized and nothing to fear."
It was clear that he was still very confident. It was good to have confidence.
Qiuqiu’s gaze lingered on the background behind him for a moment. "Hey, you’re not in your office right now?"
"I’m not." Mo Si rotated the camera slightly. "I’m at Starry Sky Wander."
"Oh!"
Starry Sky Wander—a seemingly ordinary place, but it was where the two of them had come to know each other and fall in love.
"Why did you suddenly go there?"
"I’m waiting for you. The weekend is almost here."
TSK. Qiuqiu clicked her tongue playfully. "Since you’re at Starry Sky Wander, did you go see Grandma Ai’er Nian?"
"I went this afternoon." Mo Si had visited the elder right after returning. "She cares about you a lot and asked me how you were doing."
"Did she tell you to drink more Spirit Nourishing Liquid to build up your health?" Qiuqiu leaned against the window, her eyes curving in a smile. "You’ve lost so much weight."
"No." As they spoke, he finished approving the proposal on hand. Mo Si put the documents away and, feeling a bit hot, undid his collar buttons. "My girlfriend is the Federation’s number one culinary streamer and the only S-Class Spirit Healing Master of the younger generation. She’ll be responsible for fattening me up. I don’t need to drink that bitter Spirit Nourishing Liquid."
PFFT. Qiuqiu burst out laughing.
"No way. You’re just waiting for me to go back to Starry Sky Wander and cook for you?!" she said, pretending to be angry.
Mo Si’s tailbone tingled. He thought about how Qiuqiu definitely had no idea how cute she was when she was angry.
"Mhm, waiting for you to cook," he said, playing along with her act.
Qiuqiu coughed lightly. "Fine, but don’t think you can get a free meal. Eating my cooking comes with a price—"
She acted like the Big Bad Wolf about to devour Little Red Riding Hood.
Unfortunately for her, this Little Red Riding Hood wasn’t quite the innocent victim from the fairy tale.
