Chapter 673: Chapter 692: Jiang Qiuqiu’s Plan, Truly Simple, Crude, and Effective
This had to do with the Spirit Healing Department.
Jiang Qiuqiu already had a way to show the Mecha Single Soldier System her talent.
But she hadn’t made any inroads with the Spirit Healing Department. For that, she needed Mrs. Ai’er’s help to get in touch with the key people—those who could give the final approval for her dual specialization.
"What is it? Is it inconvenient to talk about?"
"No, I was just thinking." Jiang Qiuqiu took a deep breath. "Grandma Ai’er, the generals have just been eating the food I send over in insulated containers. I have some free time to cook at the professor’s apartment now, so why don’t I invite everyone over for a meal?"
"It would be a good chance for everyone to get familiar with the place, since I might not be coming over on weekends for a while." If she succeeded in her dual specialization, Jiang Qiuqiu would be staying at school to have more time to study.
She would move her livestreaming equipment to the apartment, too.
The proposal was perfectly reasonable. ’But if that was all, the girl wouldn’t have used the word ’help,’’ Mrs. Ai’er thought. ’So...’
"But I imagine that’s not what you need my help with, is it?"
Jiang Qiuqiu nodded and gave a slightly shy smile. "I can’t hide anything from you."
"I’d like you to come, and to invite Dean Zhu from the Spirit Healing Department to come along as well."
"?"
"That many people?" Mrs. Ai’er couldn’t immediately figure out why Qiuqiu wanted her to invite Old Zhu.
"Yes. There’s something I’d like Dean Zhu to know."
She gave a cryptic smile. Mrs. Ai’er mulled it over but didn’t press for details.
"Alright. When should we set it for?"
"How about next Wednesday?" The following weekend was too tight, as her three-month deadline was almost up. A Wednesday would leave ample time for both departments to consider things—and for her to make her own "careful choice."
"That works. I’ll let the others know about it."
With that matter settled, Jiang Qiuqiu invited Mrs. Ai’er to stay for lunch, but Mrs. Ai’er shook her head. "No, thank you. I have to go out in a bit, so I won’t be able to make it today."
"I’ll just eat extra on Wednesday."
"Alright."
Walking home, Jiang Qiuqiu reflected on her plan. ’It’s a rather simple and direct approach,’ she thought. After eating her cooking before, Mrs. Ai’er had been astonished, immediately saying her talent for Spirit Healing was immense and wanting to take her on as a disciple.
’Great minds must think alike.’
’If I let Dean Zhu have a taste and show him what I can do, he’ll realize that the Mecha Single Soldier System next door has a promising candidate for a Spirit Healing Master.’
’I’ve heard that students in the Spirit Healing Department are incredibly rare. If he comes across a suitable one, Dean Zhu will surely hate to let such talent go to waste.’
’Once he feels that way, my plan will be a success.’

Of course, she could worry about Wednesday when Wednesday came.
What was right in front of her today was her livestream on the New Star app.
Last week, she’d made pickled radishes but hadn’t told everyone about their unique flavor. She’d given them homework, and she wondered how they’d all done.
It wasn’t time for her stream yet, so she decided to take a peek at her community forum first.
The words "pickled radish" were, as expected, trending on the forum. The reply thread was now filled with new videos.
Everyone was pickling radishes.
She clicked randomly into a few of the video replies. Below them were links and "Try a Sample" buttons, but they’d been up for a while, and all the tasting slots were already taken.
She could only read the reviews to guess how everyone’s pickled radishes had turned out.
As expected of a dish that was so simple and easy to master.
Most of the reviews were good.
For those who added too much sugar, comments would say things like, "Slightly sweet but not sour, though the texture is still good."
For those who added too much vinegar, reviews mentioned they were "too sour," but that eating them in small amounts with other food was an excellent appetite stimulant.
Of course, there were a few who hadn’t sealed their jars properly and found them spoiled after a day, but those cases were rare.
And then there was—
Huh.
Jiang Qiuqiu’s eyes locked onto one particular post.
