Chapter 297: A Matter of Course
Chapter 297: Chapter 297: A Matter of Course
Everything that followed happened as a matter of course.
Perhaps it was because they had been separated for far too long, and so, tonight, Xie Huaizheng was as passionate as fire.
In a daze, she could feel Xie Huaizheng carry her to the bathroom to wash up, then carefully carry her back to bed.
Su Zhaozhao felt this was the best she had slept in a long time.
During the time Xie Huaizheng was away from her on his mission, Su Zhaozhao hadn’t been sleeping well at all.
Although she could sleep in her space, where she didn’t have to worry about how cold it was outside.
But she had grown used to Xie Huaizheng lying beside her, holding her as she slept every night.
Now that she was sleeping alone, Su Zhaozhao couldn’t help but feel miserable.
Because whenever she lay down, she would worry about Xie Huaizheng, wondering if he would encounter any danger on his mission.
Or perhaps, without Xie Huaizheng lying beside her, Su Zhaozhao simply couldn’t sleep well.
But now, her body was utterly spent. Tucked into Xie Huaizheng’s embrace, feeling the man’s firm, broad chest, Su Zhaozhao quietly closed her eyes.
Finally, she fell into a deep sleep.
Xie Huaizheng was tired too. Although he had slept for a long time in the afternoon, it wasn’t enough to make up for the hardships of the recent period.
But even though he wanted to sleep, he forced himself to stay awake and gazed intently at Su Zhaozhao.
The girl’s sleeping face was so tranquil and lovely, like a docile little bunny.
Her eyelashes were so long and slender, casting a faint shadow beneath her eyes.
Her complexion was fair and felt wonderful to the touch, and her red lips, which he had kissed repeatedly, were now swollen.
They looked as if they had been rouged, unbelievably beautiful.
Xie Huaizheng’s hand gently, carefully caressed her lips.
’So nice to touch, so soft and fragrant.’
However, Xie Huaizheng knew he couldn’t continue. If he kept going, he was afraid he’d lose control.
Therefore, no matter how much he wanted to keep touching her, he ultimately had to force himself to pull his hand back.
He couldn’t touch Su Zhaozhao anymore. Xie Huaizheng knew that if he continued, he would lose control.
He had just worn her out for so long; he couldn’t bear to start again.
’It’s better to wait and take things slow later.’
’I can’t be impatient.’
’Anyway, I can rest for a while, and then we can go home.’
’Taking Zhaozhao home.’
Xie Huaizheng thought of his home, far away in Beijing. Su Zhaozhao had only met his mother; she hadn’t met his father, grandfather, or his older brother and sister.
’But with a personality like Zhaozhao’s, she’ll probably get along great with them, right?’
Xie Huaizheng wasn’t worried, though.
When Su Zhaozhao woke up the next day, her body felt... indescribable.
’It’s been so long since I’ve felt like this.’
The moment she moved, the man woke up too, his arm still held tightly around Su Zhaozhao.
"Zhaozhao, good morning." His voice was a bit hoarse when he spoke, carrying the languid tone of someone who had just woken up.
"Morning," Su Zhaozhao said.
"What time is it?"
"It’s still early. Ten o’clock."
’Still early indeed.’
Thank goodness it’s Sunday. Su Zhaozhao couldn’t help but sigh in relief.
’Thank goodness, thank goodness, I don’t have class today.’
’Xie Huaizheng’s timing in coming back was just perfect.’
’Not too soon, not too late.’
’Otherwise, I would have been so worn out that I wouldn’t have been able to get up for class the next morning.’
’Everything’s fine now.’
After that, Xie Huaizheng got up first to prepare a meal.
At this hour, it was a bit late for breakfast and a bit early for lunch.
So he decided to make a mix of both.
Su Zhaozhao was still lying in bed, sleeping.
She closed her eyes and dozed off again, sleeping until Xie Huaizheng called for her.
"Zhaozhao, are you still sleeping? Time to get up and eat," Xie Huaizheng said, leaning close to Su Zhaozhao’s ear and kissing it.
’The girl’s body was so soft, fragrant, and so wonderful to kiss.’
Xie Huaizheng couldn’t resist leaning in to plant another kiss on Su Zhaozhao’s cheek.
Just as he was about to kiss her lips, Su Zhaozhao reached out and pushed him away as she got up.
"Stop kissing me, I haven’t brushed my teeth yet," Su Zhaozhao couldn’t help but grumble.
’He keeps kissing me when I haven’t even washed up yet. It’s a little weird.’
"It’s okay, Zhaozhao. I like it." Xie Huaizheng leaned in again and succeeded in stealing a kiss from Su Zhaozhao.
After getting out of bed, Su Zhaozhao had no strength at all.
Su Zhaozhao couldn’t help but lean on Xie Huaizheng, letting him support her as she made her way to the dining table and sat down.
On the table was the meal Xie Huaizheng had heated up.
There was some leftover meat from last night, along with some new dishes Xie Huaizheng had just made.
Xie Huaizheng’s cooking seemed to have improved. The fragrance wafting through the air whetted Su Zhaozhao’s appetite.
She smiled at Xie Huaizheng. "Honey, your cooking seems to have improved a lot."
Xie Huaizheng raised an eyebrow. "I think so too. So, Zhaozhao, you should eat a little more."
After speaking, Xie Huaizheng put some food in Su Zhaozhao’s bowl. "I wore you out last night."
Xie Huaizheng felt a pang of tenderness for Su Zhaozhao.
’Sigh, when it comes to that, he just has a hard time holding back. Once he calmed down and saw the faint bruises starting to form on Su Zhaozhao’s skin from his touch, he couldn’t help but feel a surge of regret.’
’How could I be so rough?’
As Su Zhaozhao ate the rice in her bowl, she looked up at Xie Huaizheng and said, "It’s okay. As long as I’m with you, I’m happy no matter what."
’Besides, even though that sort of thing is tiring, it’s truly wonderful when you’re doing it with someone you love.’
’And Xie Huaizheng has such a great body, and he’s always finding ways to please me.’
’Su Zhaozhao felt it would be impossible for her not to be happy.’
After the meal, Xie Huaizheng went to wash the dishes while Su Zhaozhao sat on the sofa, reading a book.
When Xie Huaizheng came out from washing the dishes, he turned on the television, making the room feel livelier.
Then, he wrapped his arm around Su Zhaozhao’s waist, pulling her into his embrace.
As he did, he said to Su Zhaozhao, "Oh, right, Zhaozhao, I plan to buy our tickets in a couple of days. Let’s go back early."
"So early?" Su Zhaozhao was a little surprised.
’There was still more than half a month until the New Year. Didn’t that mean Xie Huaizheng had almost a whole month of vacation left?’
"Yes. I’ve saved up a lot of leave over the years, and I got a good amount of time off for this last mission, too. We’ll head back after your winter break starts."
The elementary school on the military base started its winter break relatively early. And since her English classes didn’t have final exams, they ended half a month earlier than the other courses.
’Su Zhaozhao couldn’t help but marvel, where did the time go so quickly?’
’And she hadn’t even noticed.’
’It’s been half a year since I transmigrated into this book, hasn’t it?’
But sometimes, Su Zhaozhao would still recall her time at home. It was just a feeling of longing, though, and nothing more.
