Chapter 835 - You Don’t Like Me, Brother-In-Law?
Chapter 835: You Don’t Like Me, Brother-In-Law?
Luosang looked up but her voice was low. “I trust you all and I understand your difficulties, but I hope you can understand mine as well. My father was thrown into prison for no good reason and has been there for three years already. If you had processed the case with greater stringency, he might not have had to suffer. I don’t want anything else, I just want him to be released as soon as possible. He’s old and he’s not in the best of health now.
Captain Wu was remorseful even though he hadn’t been in charge of the case years ago. “Miss Xu, I will close the case as soon as possible even if it means working overtime and overnight.”
…
At night, the group stayed in the Beichuan Hotel. Nian Junting had booked two villas. Lu Kang, An Lan and Mo Liuxi were staying together while Nian Junting and Luosang were staying in another villa. When they checked in, Nian Junting had a bit of conflict with Mo Liuxi.
“I have to stay with my sister,” Mo Liuxi carried his luggage and walked over to the villa that Nian Junting and Luosang were staying in. Nian Junting frowned and blocked his path.
“I want to spend some time alone with your sister.”
“You already have a child together; what time alone do you need?” Mo Liuxi looked over at Luosang’s pretty face casually. “Are you two still planning on doing things? Didn’t the doctor say that the pregnancy isn’t stable yet?”
Luosang’s cheeks were fiery hot. “What are you thinking about, you little kid, you can stay wherever you please.”
“Luo…” Nian Junting’s voice was low.
“You don’t like me, brother-in-law?” Mo Liuxi said suddenly.
Nian Junting was shocked when he called him that, he had never addressed him that way before, he must have an ulterior motive.
He turned to look at Luosang and she was frowning.
“Of course not…”
“I’m staying with the two of you then, I don’t want to stay there because of Lawyer An, she is a lady after all and we’re not familiar with each other. I don’t want to cause any inconvenience to her,” Mo Liuxi paused and said, “Sister, although we have acknowledged each other, we have never spent time living together. I think this is a good opportunity for us to interact with one another and let me have a taste of what it’s like to have an older sister.”
Luosang’s heart ached when he said that and she quickly nodded her head. “You’re right, let’s stay together then, let me take care of you.”
“Thank you.” Mo Liuxi grinned and looked at Nian Junting before walking briskly into the house and picking a room for himself on the ground floor.
Nian Junting was glaring at him from behind.
Someone tugged on his shirt. He looked down to see Luoang staring at him worryingly, “Junting, you don’t like Liuxi?”
“No, nothing of the sort,” Nian Junting denied it immediately, “I’m very happy to have a younger brother like Liuxi.”
Luosang looked at him for a moment before bursting into laughter, “Fake.”
Nian Junting was frustrated so he decided to tell her the truth, “Luo, it’s not that I don’t like him, I love anyone who is your family. It’s just that I want to spend time alone with you, especially since our baby princess is coming soon.”
Luosang sighed, “Junting, we both have our own family. We can’t possibly spend every single minute together. Liuxi was right, although we have acknowledged each other, we haven’t really spent time together. I hope I can this opportunity to get to know him better.”
“Alright, I understand,” Nian Junting rubbed her head, “Just like how I have no interest in Nian Xi at all usually.”
“…”
Poor Nian Xi.
Luosang really wanted to know Mo Liuxi better. After dinner, her brother was sitting on the sofa watching an indie film. Luosang walked over to find him taking notes on his notepad.
“What are you doing?”
“This movie was nominated at the Cannes Film Festival this year, I wanted to figure out the essence of the film so I can study it in greater detail,” Mo Liuxi said.
Luosang was heartened to see her brother so passionate about learning, he was just like her. “Liuxi, why do you want to be a director?”
“I always ran around with Lady Mo when I was young, I have been interested in the industry since then,” Mo Liuxi smiled.
“Um… Lady Mo…”
“Your mother.”
“…”
My mother? She’s your mother too, Luosang thought.
Luosang sighed, no wonder Liuxi didn’t like to call her sister. “Why would you call her that?”
“She’s too stupid. I’ve called her Lady Mo since I was young and she was ok with it,” Mo Liuxi sighed, “Her dishes are horrible tasting and she always loses her things and doesn’t tidy up her room. She gets tricked very easily and she’s very obstinate about things.”
Luosang was stunned, “I didn’t know Mother was like that.”
Mo Liuxi grunted casually.
“You must have had to deal with a lot as a child,” Luosang reached out to tousle his hair. His hair was soft and fine and it was smooth to the touch.
Mo Liuxi was stunned at her gesture. He glanced over at her and her pretty face was glowing. He lowered his head like an obedient puppy.
“What are the two of you doing?” an angry voice shouted, breaking the serene silence between them.
The two of them turned to see Nian Junting marching towards them, he squeezed in between them to keep them apart. Mo Liuxi had no choice but to move to the side. He spoke in a low voice.
“She’s pregnant, can you be gentler, don’t crush her.”
“She is my woman; you don’t have to tell me that.” Nian Junting picked up Luosang’s hand and put it on his head. “If you want to touch someone’s head, touch mine, my head is itchy.”
“…”
He was getting more and more childish.
Mo Liuxi was speechless. “She is my sister; she can’t even touch my head?”
“Brat, if you want someone to stroke your head, you should go find yourself a girlfriend.” Nian Junting closed his eyes happily. “You will know once you get attached.”
“Don’t encourage him to get into a relationship so early,” Luosang glared at him.
Nian Junting continued, “It’s normal to date in university, maybe he will find someone once school starts. He might even give you a nephew before he graduates.”
“Lame,” Mo Liuxi threw the insult at him.
Luosang was frowning too. If she had a nephew before he even graduated, she would truly have a headache. She was already a bad example; her brother shouldn’t follow her footsteps.
“Stop talking and watch the movie,” Luosang reminded him.
The three of them watched the movie together. Luosang enjoyed the film as she thought that it had a good twist and an interesting plot. Nian Junting was thoroughly bored on the other hand, almost falling asleep on the couch.
“Not nice, let’s change the channel.” Nian Junting picked up the remote control and said, “Let’s continue watching the anti-Japanese occupation film we were watching last time.”
Luosang was about to cry.
Mo Liuxi frowned. “No, war dramas are too fake.”
“The one I watched was not too bad,” Nian Junting said, “Brat, I know you grew up overseas but you should cultivate your patriotism. Let me show you how China was liberated in the past.”
