Luosang was a little shocked, and she asked, “Um… why did you open the trunk… you don’t know how to close the hood?”

Nian Junting’s face froze and color rushed to his cheeks, “This is only my second time driving this car, so I’m not very familiar with its functions.”

“I think it’s safe to say that you are very unfamiliar,” Luosang burst into a giggle. He looked kind of cute with his hot flushed cheeks, it was rare to see him looking flustered.

This was his first time getting ridiculed by a woman in his entire thirty years, and it was extremely embarrassing, “Shut up!”

This was all Nian Xi’s fault for telling him that it was suave for a man to drive a sports car, for telling him that she would fall for him immediately after seeing him in an expensive ride. Who knew he’d have such bad luck, driving into a rainy day. Xiao Si that little bastard! Why didn’t he deliver the car with the hood on? He knew how bad he was with the buttons.

“Alright I’ll shut up, but the rain is getting heavier,” Luosang’s face was already splattered with droplets. The weather seemed to be brewing a storm and there were no shelters around.

“I’ll make a quick call to Xiao Si,” Nian Junting assured her. He was left with no choice after all, but even then… the calls went straight to his voicemail.

He could strangle Xiao Si; what an unreliable chap.

“Grab an umbrella from the back, I’ll look at the buttons,” Nian Junting was trying to improvise.

“Ok, hurry up.” Luosang ran to the back and grabbed an umbrella. There was only one so they had to share as she ran back to the passenger seat.

Nian Junting wasn’t having much luck. He tried many buttons but he just couldn’t find the right one. The storm came upon them, and rain started to pour while the wind was battering against their faces and bodies.

Along the road, cars were zipping by. A Volkswagen sedan stopped beside them and wound down its window. “The rich are so interesting nowadays, ha-ha, driving a convertible with the umbrella. Are they that afraid to go unnoticed?” the driver remarked to his passengers.

Nian Junting grimaced in annoyance.

“Forget it, the car is flooded with water, let’s wait on the sides for Mr. Xiao’s phone call,” Luosang pleaded, she had already given up hope.

Nian Junting finally looked up at her. By now her hair and clothes were drenched. His brows knitted together before he pulled her out of the car and held the umbrella as they stood shoulder to shoulder by the road.

The wind was strong and the rain was unrelenting but Luosang realized that she couldn’t feel the droplets anymore. She looked over and she found that Nian Junting was mostly shielding her from the rain, his left arm was dripping wet.

A flood of warmth rushed to her heart as she pushed the umbrella towards him, “Mr. Nian, you should cover yourself too.”

“I’ve been through worse in the army, this is nothing to me,” Nian Junting replied coolly as he angled the umbrella away from him again, “This was all my fault anyway.”

“Well I really didn’t expect Mr. Nian to be so foreign to the functions of a sports car, you don’t drive them often?” Luosang was smiling.

“Personally, I think sports cars are too frivolous, I enjoy SUVs much more. Drove those almost exclusively back when I was in the military and I never gave up practicing in the States even after serving. Now that I’m back, I am required to attend business dinners and alcohol is just part of those events so I’m mostly driven around by my chauffeur now. Today… it’s because… Xiao Si was returning the car I lent him previously and that’s why I had to drive it back myself,” Nian Junting replied seriously.
