Growing Fond of You, Mr Nian

Chapter 1199 - He Was so Good at Pretending

Chapter 1199: He Was so Good at Pretending

As Luosang ended the call, Nian Junting raised his brows and asked, “Isn’t she coming?”

“No. She said she’s leaving in a few days.” Luosang sighed. “But she also said she’ll stop by to see me before she leaves.”

Nian Junting nodded.

“Why are you suddenly so interested in her?” asked Luosang.

“Nonsense,” said Nian Junting. “It’s because she’s your only friend.”

“She’s not my only friend, but she’s my best friend.” Luosang said sentimentally, “I guess this is what happens after graduation. People drift apart.”

Nian Junting glanced at her. At the red light, he sent Mo Liuxi a WeChat message—I heard Yan Su will come to visit Luo soon…

Before long, Mo Liuxi replied—None of my business.

Nian Junting was not happy to read that message. He decided not to help him ever again.

Three days later, at around dinnertime, Yan Su paid Luosang and Apple a visit. Once inside, she put a large red envelope and a gold bracelet in Apple’s arms and said, “Luo, I can’t stay for Apple’s party but as his godmother, I prepared him a hundred-day-old present.”

“Yeah, you are his godmother. We accept the gift.” Luosang looked at her up and down. She was wearing a loose-fitting jacket, flat shoes, and no makeup, not even wear lipstick. She had great facial features, though, so she looked good even without makeup. But…

“Su, have you really been working recently? You look sallow. Don’t work so hard.”

“Em.” Yan Su smiled bitterly on the inside. She had been suffering from severe morning sickness recently and had vomited almost everything she ate. The pressure at work was another stressor. No wonder she looked sallow.

“Have you had dinner yet? I asked Sister Lan to put something aside for you,” said Luosang.

“I already ate, thanks.” Yan Su put Apple on her knees. The three-month-old little boy was such a sweetie. His skin was white and tender; looking at him made Yan Su’s heart melt.

She had never found babies cute before. Ever since she got pregnant, her heart turned to mush whenever she saw any baby. So, she determinedly decided to keep her baby, no matter how hard it might be.

“Su, why are you staring at Apple like that? Come on, have some strawberries.” Luosang brought some washed strawberries.

Yan Su ate two, then lost her appetite.

At that moment, Steward Wu’s voice was heard from the outside.

“Mr. Mo, what a surprise to see you back on a weekday.”

“Hm. Dad made some a durian cake and asked me to bring some here.” Mo Liuxi changed his shoes and walked inside.

He was wearing a stylish black jacket and a pair of jeans that emphasized his well-chiseled face and long legs. Standing next to Steward Wu, he looked like a hipster out of a comic book.

Hearing his voice, Yan Su immediately tightened her body.

She came here on Monday night because she didn’t want to run into Mo Liuxi. But he showed up anyway.

“Why did you come back today?” Luosang was surprised too.

“I had dinner with some friends nearby and drank a little alcohol, so I decided to spend the night here.” Mo Liuxi put the cake on the table, then plunked himself down on the couch with a bland face and without returning Yan Su’s glance.

Seeing that, Nian Junting snorted.

He was so good at pretending.

“Dad’s getting better and better at baking.” Luosang cut Yan Su a slice and said, “Su, try my father’s cake.”

“Thank you,” Yan Su took the plate. One whiff of that durian cake made her retch. “Sang, I’m going to the bathroom.”

Seeing the look on her face filled Mo Liuxi’s heart with coldness and sadness.

So…she’s decided to keep the baby.
