Global Lords: My Territory Heart Is a World Tree

Chapter 516 - 6: Emperor Star (Part 2)

Chapter 516: Chapter 6: Emperor Star (Part 2)

"Hmm... Alright, I’ll ask."

Lin Yu thought for a moment and agreed.

Soon, the call went through.

"Hello, Captain Liu. This is Lin Yu."

...

"That’s right, we’ve finished our match."

...

"Yeah, I advanced!"

...

"Oh, Li Hua? It’s a shame about him. He made a mistake and couldn’t advance. He’s my Affiliated Lord now."

...

"Captain Liu, I need your help with something. I want to make a trip to Emperor Star, but my dad’s involved in a lawsuit recently, and the other party sued me as well. As a result, I can’t use the Teleportation Array. Is there any way to lift the ban?"

...

"It’s a court-issued injunction."

...

"Why am I going to Emperor Star? I have some business to take care of. The Legion Commander gave me an invitation to attend an event on Emperor Star, to earn some resources to develop my territory."

...

"No, no, it’s alright. If it can’t be done, then never mind. I’ll figure something else out."

Hanging up the phone, Lin Yu was a little disappointed. ’Looks like I’ll have to rely on myself after all!’

"My lord, perhaps Captain Liu really..."

"Don’t worry about him. We were just casual acquaintances with no real connection. It’s only human nature that he doesn’t want to help. If he’d been too eager to help, I might not have dared to use whatever method he suggested."

"Let’s go. We’ll find another way."

...

That night, Lin Yu and Li Hua posted information on Cuiwei Star’s network about being illegally charged rent and late fees by Kuang Tie Company.

They wanted to stir up a storm of public opinion, get Cuiwei Star’s society to pay attention to the matter, and force the court to hold a public hearing. Unfortunately, their posts vanished without so much as a ripple, like clay oxen dropping into the sea.

The messages they posted to various chat rooms and forums were all deleted.

"Impressive. It seems they’re more powerful than I thought. No wonder they act like they’ve already got us in the bag."

"Brother Li, tomorrow I’ll need you to keep trying to expose this online. Also, have Qiu Xuan file a new lawsuit tomorrow, accusing Kuang Tie Company of extortion and demanding a judgment to invalidate their rent demands."

"Here, take this. Use it if you run into danger."

Lin Yu pulled a single-use teleporter from his personal storage space and handed it to Li Hua.

Of course, Lin Yu had already equipped his parents and little sister with these single-use teleporters long ago. He had even modified them so that if they were ever harmed, they would be instantly teleported to Glacier World.

...

The next day, outside the ticket hall of the Cuiwei Star Interstellar Teleportation Array, two young, beautiful women walked out, pushing their suitcases.

"Wan’Er, I’m so jealous of you. You get to join a big company on Emperor Star right after graduation. Unlike me, stuck on this backwater planet. I can already see my entire future laid out before me!"

"How about we switch? You go to Emperor Star and be a corporate slave, and I’ll stay on Cuiwei Star and be a carefree heiress? In a few years, I could even go get my credentials polished in the Lord tournament."

"I’d love to agree, but unfortunately, my fiancé probably wouldn’t. You’re not planning to switch identities with me so you can marry my fiancé, are you?"

"Hey, you’re awful! Who else would like that egomaniac? Only you would treasure him~"

After playfully bickering outside the ticket hall for a while, Liu Wan’Er pushed her suitcase and walked toward the Teleportation Array under the reluctant, parting gaze of Yuri Ortiz.

Just then, an alien girl walked toward her. She had pointed ears that glowed with a fleshy luminescence, and her skin was as smooth as water, making one want to reach out and give it a pinch.

The girl approached Liu Wan’Er and leaned in slightly. "Hello, my name is Chenxi. I just overheard you saying you’re going to Emperor Star, is that right? Could you do me a favor?"

"Oh~ hello!" Liu Wan’Er was captivated by Chenxi’s otherworldly beauty and replied automatically, "I am going to Emperor Star. How can I help you?"

"Well, you see, my luggage is overweight. I noticed you don’t have much with you. Could you help me carry my little cat? You can give her back to me once we’re on Emperor Star, is that okay?"

As she spoke, Chenxi held out a cat carrier. Inside, a tabby cat was lying quietly.

"Ah~ n-no, I can’t! My mom warned me never to carry things for strangers through the Teleportation Array! If I get caught with contraband, I’ll be in huge trouble."

"But this isn’t contraband. It’s just a normal little cat. Please, just help me out! Look how cute it is, isn’t it?"

Liu Wan’Er looked at the cat carrier. The tabby cat inside was gorgeous, its fur even had a faint glow, and she fell in love with it at first sight.

"It’s so cute~"

"But... I still can’t carry something from a stranger like this..."

"How could a kitty be something of unknown origin? It’s clearly just a cute little kitty..."

"Wan’Er! What’s going on?" Seeing Liu Wan’Er stopped by Chenxi, Yuri Ortiz walked over, worried for her friend’s safety.

"She is... who is this beautiful lady?"

When Yuri Ortiz got a clear look at Chenxi’s face, she was instantly mesmerized.

"Hello, I’m Chenxi. Are you two sisters? You’re both so beautiful!"

"Ah, thank you for the compliment, big sis. We’re best friends, not sisters!"

"Big sis, you want Wan’Er to help you carry the kitty?"

"That’s right. My luggage is overweight and I can’t take it all. I was hoping young Wan’Er could help me carry this. I can go on ahead and wait for you at the Teleportation Array on Emperor Star."

Although Yuri Ortiz was dazed by Chenxi’s beauty, her common sense hadn’t completely abandoned her. She asked vigilantly on her best friend’s behalf, "I thought the Teleportation Array lets you carry up to 100 pounds of pets for free?"

"That’s right, but you see, I really can’t carry any more."

As Chenxi spoke, she gestured for a few people standing in the distance to come over. Each of them was laden with bags and bundles, and they were also carrying several beautiful-looking pets.

Yuri Ortiz looked at the animals, dazzled. "What... what do you all do? Why do you have so many rare and exotic animals?"

"It’s nothing, I just like collecting these animals. I have too many, so I’m over the carry-on limit. Shipping them as cargo takes a long time, and I worry they’ll get hurt. You know how it is with cargo shipping; those handlers don’t care for them at all."

"If you two didn’t look so pretty and kind, I wouldn’t have asked you."

"If you don’t want to help me, then I’ll just wait."

"Wan’Er, why don’t you help the nice lady? No matter how you look at it, this cat isn’t contraband." Yuri Ortiz had been won over by Chenxi and was now trying to convince Liu Wan’Er to help with the pet cat.

"But, my mom said..."

"She’s just afraid of you being tricked. Look, how could someone as pretty as Sister Chenxi be a liar!"

...

Persuaded by Yuri Ortiz, Liu Wan’Er finally agreed to help carry the pet cat. To be on the safe side, she even asked for a letter of authorization, fearing she would be held responsible if there was something wrong with the cat.

After handing the cat carrier to Liu Wan’Er, Chenxi and her group went to a smaller, auxiliary array attached to the Interstellar Teleportation Array, then vanished in a flash of light.

...

"Wan’Er, I’m suddenly wondering if there was something wrong with my sexual orientation before."

"Go drool somewhere else, I swear! I’m off to Emperor Star to meet your ’pretty big sister’. Bye-bye~"

After a brief exchange, Liu Wan’Er also walked into the Interstellar Teleportation Array. She was headed for a border planet in the Central Star Realm, where Emperor Star was located. There, she would undergo a strict security check before teleporting again to Emperor Star itself.

...

"What have that Lin Yu and his subordinates been up to these past few days?"

"Lord Leiant, some of Lin Yu’s subordinates took some animals to the Interstellar Teleportation Array today, but they returned shortly after."

"Heh, still hasn’t given up, has he? Spreading rumors last night, and now trying to leave Cuiwei Star today."

"Have them speed up the process and start the court hearing as soon as possible. We need to avoid any further complications."

"I want them to see that here on Cuiwei Star, we are the law! They think they can get out of paying rent and damages just by hiring a licensed lawyer? In their dreams!!!"

"If that Lin Yu fancies himself a filial son, he can forget about getting his father back in one piece unless we skin him for all he’s worth."

"And if he abandons his old man, that’s even better. The reputation of being unfilial will be enough to get him kicked out of the [Star of the Future] program. One less competitor for my son!"

...

Meanwhile, after a slow and strict security check, Liu Wan’Er arrived safely on Emperor Star.

She waited outside the Teleportation Array for a long time, but Chenxi and her group never appeared.

"You cute little cat, did your owner abandon you?" Liu Wan’Er said, looking at the cat in the carrier. She couldn’t resist opening the carrier to let the tabby out and play with it for a bit.

But as soon as the tabby cat was out of the carrier, it struggled free from her grasp and bolted away from the Teleportation Array, disappearing in the blink of an eye.

Once out of Liu Wan’Er’s sight, the tabby cat ducked into an unnoticed corner. After a surge of Spiritual Energy, Lin Yu walked out from the shadows.

"It’s almost night. I’ll find a random place to crash for now. Tomorrow, I’ll report to [Star of the Future]."
