Chapter 1078 - 571: Justice
[Dragon Whale Hall], is currently a Black Supreme Quality Oddity. If fully restored, it has a great chance of evolving into a Colorful Mythical Quality Oddity—an exceedingly rare item.
However, as one of the foundational assets of the Dragon Spine Song Family Town, [Dragon Whale Hall]’s biggest drawback is its inability to be converted into a shipboard component. With this limitation, the Song Family decided to maximize its utility by integrating it into the entire Dragon Spine Continent, leveraging the immense mass of the Floating Land to activate this High Rank Oddity.
Of course, this approach is not exclusive to the Song Family or even to Torch Human Civilization; many other civilizations and races throughout the Shattered Starry Sea employ this method.
However, this method is not without its flaws. Once an oddity is deeply fused with a specific continent, it becomes extraordinarily difficult to separate the oddity from it later. The effectiveness of the oddity itself also becomes closely tied to the Floating Land it’s fused with.
For example, the Black Quality [Dragon Whale Hall], when supported by the Sixth Level Dragon Spine Continent in the past, could only provide enhancements such as one hundred [Mind Halls], one hundred [Starry Sky Thrones], and so on. Its capabilities relating to Law Comprehension and the concealment upper limits of Chaos Mist were also notably restricted.
Recently, however, after the Dragon Spine Continent advanced to the Seventh Level, enhancements such as [Mind Halls] and [Starry Sky Thrones] have surged to five hundred, and the distances over which Starry Sky Projection summoning could be performed have been significantly increased.
The reason the Song Family continues to drain the Origin Cores of other Floating Lands to sustain the Dragon Spine Continent is that the Song Family leaders still deem these outcomes unsatisfactory.
For instance, even after the Dragon Spine Continent advanced to the Seventh Level, it still failed to summon clan members from the [Red Star Continent] through projection, a point of severe disappointment for the Song Family’s leadership.
While pairing a Seventh Level Floating Land with a Black Quality Oddity can indeed unleash around eighty percent of [Dragon Whale Hall]’s might, this reflects only the power of a twice-repaired Black Quality [Dragon Whale Hall]. Once a third restoration is completed, there is a high likelihood that [Dragon Whale Hall] will advance to Colorful Mythical Quality.
Should this occur, the mass of the Seventh Level Floating Land would be far from sufficient.
After discussing strategies for handling the Level 6 Floating Land below, the Song Family members turned their attention to the tens of thousands of ordinary insectoids beneath them.
With nearly thirty years remaining until the official start of the Civilization War, arranging for these tens of thousands of insectoids was proving to be a difficult problem.
Bringing them directly to the Dragon Spine Continent was clearly out of the question; supporting their resource consumption would be an exorbitant cost, one that would put even the Song Family’s current capacity under tremendous strain.
The only feasible option would be to put them entirely into hibernation, which could resolve the issue, though this would pose a different challenge in return.
The upcoming Civilization War is set to involve supermassive conflicts spanning two River System Communities. It’s well understood that this colossal war will claim countless lives of Torch Ship Captains, while many Torch forces will inevitably be annihilated. This is an inescapable reality.
In this brutal reshuffling game, the Song Family, having only recently achieved the status of an Immortal Clan, has barely acquired a trace of qualification to participate in the reshuffle. But this is merely a first step; the family’s intrinsic strength is equally crucial. Only through reinforcing itself can the Song Family endure until the reshuffle’s end and witness the dawn of a new era brimming with opportunities.
Over the past few decades, the Song Family has undertaken measures like reclaiming Hidden Pulses, unlocking ancestral assets, stockpiling warfare materials, and engaging in low-buy, high-sell trade practices—all to bolster its intrinsic strength as much as possible.
After several decades, the family’s efforts are beginning to yield results, as evidenced by recruiting over five thousand Cruiser Captains and nearing four hundred Zhulu Warship Captains.
Yet, this remains insufficient. Ultimately, the Song Family’s inheritance timeline is still too short. Compared to those Immortal Clans that have endured for millennia, the Song Family’s endeavors over the past decades merely transformed them from being lanky into possessing a “normal physique,” whereas those older clans more resemble burly giants. The gap remains vast.
Precisely because they understand this gap, the Song Family high command has been forced to explore auxiliary approaches to arm themselves as much as possible, viewing this swarm of insectoids as a critical component of their strategy.
Even so, sixty thousand insectoids fall far short of their needs—the Song Family requires millions. Thus, taking them back to the family is absolutely impossible. These insectoids must continue their efforts in resource collection so that, once the Ancient Mother Empress’s injuries fully heal, She can devour the accumulated resources and resume nurturing the insectoid population at full capacity.
While deliberations continued, several spatial fluctuations emanated from the sky, and three Zhulu Warships emerged from spatial vortices.
These Zhulu Warships were all under the War Affairs Hall’s “Exploration Division” and were captained by Deputy Minister-level figures, highly skilled in creating Star Charts.
Once communication was established, each of the three Zhulu Warships promptly uploaded a Star Chart.
After cross-referencing the three Star Charts, Song Chi and the others gained a general understanding of the nearby Star Domain surrounding the Sixth Level Floating Land they currently stood upon.
According to the Star Charts, with the Level 6 Floating Land as the focal point, its surrounding area within two thousand light-years harbored two Level 4 Floating Lands, more than ten Level 3 Floating Lands, and a sprawling Asteroid Belt positioned on the peripheral region nearly two thousand light-years away, extending indefinitely beyond the Star Chart’s bounds.
“Not bad. We can assign the remaining insectoids to these Floating Lands to gather various resources. Taking advantage of the excess from these Floating Lands and the Asteroid Belt, once the Ancient Mother Empress recovers, another million-plus insectoids could be nurtured.”
…
Having finalized the subsequent plans, Song Wujiang remained on the Level 6 Floating Land, using the [Immovable Ming King] in combination with the [Origin Core Stealer] to extract the remaining twenty percent Origin Core from the Floating Land.
