Chapter 507 - 323: Hidden Quest: Giant Beast Conqueror; Changes in the Four Major Elemental Planes
Chapter 507: Chapter 323: Hidden Quest: Giant Beast Conqueror; Changes in the Four Major Elemental Planes
The contest for the third-round exchange match location in the University Alliance Training Camp, from start to finish, lasted only a few short seconds. Yet, the intricate schemes and sudden reversals had the students who witnessed it roaring with excitement. When they saw it was their team leader, Zhang Yi, who seized the sphere of light from between the three Crystal Pillars and obtained a hidden mission, the students from the Yanhuang Federation erupted in a thunderous roar!
A smile played on Lu Mei’s lips; she was clearly happy for Zhang Yi. Hong Tianyi threw his hands in the air, pumping his fists in excitement. A hint of admiration shone through Gu Yun’s complex expression. Even Tuoba Yu, who was normally jealous of Zhang Yi, showed a flicker of grudging respect in his eyes at that moment.
Meanwhile, the students from the White Eagle Federation were deathly silent. This was clearly a first for them. In all the previous University Alliance Training Camp competitions within their White Eagle Federation region, their Candidate Saint Child, Elias, had always won with ease. But this time, they had encountered someone stronger: a student from the Yanhuang Federation.
Zhang Yi, from the Yanhuang Federation, had cost them the chance to freely choose the exchange match location. He had also cost them the opportunity to get the hidden mission.
Against the backdrop of the Yanhuang Federation’s cheers, the lone figure of Candidate Saint Child Elias on the track looked particularly forlorn. But anyone who saw his face would have discovered a different story. Elias’s complexion was livid, his expression dark and menacing.
If his failure to overpower Zhang Yi with Divine Power earlier could be considered an accident, then being beaten by Zhang Yi for first place in front of everyone could hardly be dismissed as another coincidence. To everyone else, it would now seem that he, Candidate Saint Child Elias from the White Eagle Federation, was simply inferior to Team Leader Zhang Yi from the Yanhuang Federation. For the proud and arrogant Candidate Saint Child Elias, that was the one thing he could not tolerate.
Seeing Zhang Yi win the right to choose the match location and noticing the silent White Eagle Federation students behind him, Candidate Saint Child Elias turned and stormed off. The anger from his defeat was plain to see in the tense set of his back.
Andre from the Giant Bear Federation, although he hadn’t received a notification for a hidden mission, was pleased to see that Zhang Yi had secured the very location he himself had wanted. Thinking back to his inability to help in the cafeteria, the straightforward Andre wasn’t upset about missing out; instead, he gave Zhang Yi a thumbs-up.
"Awesome, brother!" he called out. "I seriously didn’t expect you to pull off a spatial transfer inside the warship. I tried it a few days ago, and I was lucky to make it a few dozen meters.
"But you managed to jump two hundred meters at once. You’re incredible, brother!
"Let’s have a proper match during the exchange competition if we get the chance."
The frankness of Andre from the Giant Bear Federation earned Zhang Yi’s appreciation, though this goodwill was fleeting, unlikely to last more than half a day.
Meanwhile, Royal Princess Sofia from the Holy Roman Federation stopped in her tracks as she saw Zhang Yi walking back. She panted lightly, calming the Divine Power within her. As Zhang Yi walked past, Royal Princess Sofia looked up at him with her bright, azure eyes and said, "You’re strong!
"You’re stronger than me and the other two students from the Holy Roman Federation.
"I admire the strong, like you. Can I add you as a contact?"
Hearing this, Zhang Yi, who had been walking past the Royal Princess, stopped, intrigued.
After all, it’s not easy to admit you’re weaker than someone else.
He looked at Royal Princess Sofia—at her black hair, azure eyes, and delicate features. Sensing no hostility from her for the time being, Zhang Yi agreed to her request. Besides, Zhang Yi wasn’t some kind of pariah; he didn’t need to go out of his way to make more enemies.
As for Harimo from the Third World Federation, though he hadn’t secured his desired match location, he showed no ill will toward Zhang Yi. It was as if he had already anticipated his failure to secure a location advantageous for him and his federation’s students. As Zhang Yi agreed to exchange contact information with Sofia, Harimo quietly departed.
Watching this from the stage, Vice Admiral Qin Rui smiled.
As expected of Marshal Zhang’s grandson. He’s truly outstanding! The Marshal must be well aware of his grandson’s capabilities, I imagine? Today’s outcome was probably within the Marshal’s predictions as well. A Marshal is a Marshal for a reason—so wise and resourceful!
Zhang Yi was oblivious to Vice Admiral Qin Rui’s thoughts. Instead, after soaking in the cheers from the Yanhuang Federation students, he thought back to the moment he touched the sphere of light on the Crystal Pillar, recalling the stream of light that had entered his personal terminal. He opened his personal terminal to check the contents of what he suspected was the hidden mission’s information.
Sure enough, he found the details of the hidden mission.
[Hidden Mission for the Inner Earth World: Giant Beast Conqueror]
Mission Requirements: During the [Inner Earth World] mission, you may only dispatch a single member of your Clan. This member must undertake the task of conquering Giant Beasts alone, without assistance from other students of the Blue Star Federation or any other Clans. (Conquest is defined as a Giant Beast submitting of its own accord or being forced into a contract). Conquering a First Level Giant Beast will grant 2 Points. Conquering a Second Level Giant Beast will grant 4 Points. Conquering a Third Level Giant Beast will grant 8 Points. The Points increase exponentially. The more Giant Beasts you conquer, the more Points you will earn from this hidden mission.
