Chapter 861 - 569: The Statue Bearing the Power of the World and the Saint Violet Empire

Chapter 861: Chapter 569: The Statue Bearing the Power of the World and the Saint Violet Empire

The angel "played" by Austin Sage showed a touch of exhaustion on his face, like someone who had just narrowly escaped death.

He took the lead in flapping his wings of light, bringing the "injured" Raylo along as they flew toward an entrance of the satellite at a moderate pace.

At the entrance, two squads of Six-winged Angels stood on guard. Raylo’s heartbeat sped up involuntarily.

However, the guards simply cast a casual glance at them before looking away, not harboring any suspicions. Austin Sage’s Illusion Technique could even deceive a World Destruction Level Angel of Death, so these Six-winged Angels naturally couldn’t spot anything amiss. They merely assumed the duo were injured comrades returning to the fortress from the battlefield.

Just like that, they brazenly slipped into the Light Deity’s War Fortress in the void.

The moment they passed through the Energy Film, Raylo felt a vast, ocean-like wave of Holy Light wash over him.

The interior of the fortress was an entirely different scene.

This was no cold military base, but a sacred kingdom constructed of Holy Light and massive stones. Over a dozen magnificent Divine Halls of varying styles stood tall on the floating landmass, and occasionally, Four-winged Angels could be seen bustling back and forth between them. The rich Holy Light Energy had almost materialized into a dense fog that flowed sluggishly through the air.

"What a grand scale! To think such a massive cluster of Divine Halls was built entirely inside a War Fortress!" Raylo thought, shaken to the core.

However, Austin Sage turned a blind eye to all of this. Without pausing at any of the Divine Halls, he led Raylo straight through the corridors paved with radiance, heading toward the grandest Divine Hall located at the very center of the complex.

Crafted entirely from pure white jade, the Divine Hall exuded a supreme majesty that far surpassed the others. There were no guards stationed at its entrance.

Because there was no need.

The faint yet unmistakable World Destruction Level Peak coercion permeating from deep within the Divine Hall served as the most impenetrable barrier! This was the exact place from which the Divine Avatar of Light had emerged earlier!

Raylo’s footsteps faltered subconsciously. His heart hammered wildly in his chest, feeling as though it might leap out of his throat at any moment.

Seemingly sensing Raylo’s tension, Austin Sage said, "Don’t be afraid. Kid, have you ever robbed a Giant Dragon? The most precious treasures are always hidden in the lairs guarded by the fiercest Giant Dragons."

He didn’t give Raylo any chance to hesitate, pulling him along as he took his first step onto the white staircase leading up to the Divine Hall.

One step, two steps...

As they drew closer, that World Destruction Level coercion grew increasingly distinct, pressing down on Raylo’s soul like a tangible mountain. They walked unimpeded until they reached the giant doors of the Divine Hall, which stood a towering hundred meters tall.

Upon stepping through the doors, Holy Light Energy a hundred times denser than the outside washed over them, nearly suffocating Raylo.

The interior of the Divine Hall was so vast and empty that it was unnerving.

Across the massive domed ceiling, frescoes depicting angels praising their god were painted, every brushstroke flowing with a sacred charm. At the far end of the grand hall stood a colossal statue, also towering a hundred meters high.

The Light Deity.

Cloaked in flowing robes and with a blurred face, he held a radiant Sun in one hand while his other hand hung naturally at his side, looking down at all living things with compassion. The entire statue was bathed in Holy Light, radiating a holiness and majesty that made one afraid to look directly at it.

Austin Sage surveyed the surroundings, his brows furrowing imperceptibly. He walked straight toward a bookshelf on one side of the hall. Upon it lay dozens of thick tomes, their covers fashioned from a kind of golden metal.

The Sage casually picked one up, flipped through a few pages, and then set it back down.

"Just a bunch of garbage singing his praises," he commented. However, with a sweep of his sleeve, he still stored away the entire bookshelf along with all the books.

Books carried history and truth; taking them back for research might uncover some of the Light Deity’s unknown secrets.

Raylo thoroughly checked every corner of the grand hall, only to come up empty-handed. Aside from that colossal statue and the open floor, there wasn’t even a decent decoration in sight.

"Sage..." Raylo couldn’t help but transmit his voice. "It seems like... there’s nothing here."

They quickly inspected several side halls flanking the main structure.

Prayer rooms, Meditation rooms, storage rooms...

The results were disappointing. Aside from a few chests of Magic Crystals, there were no other valuable discoveries.

This didn’t make sense.

This was the core Divine Hall overseen by a World Destruction Level Peak powerhouse. How could it be so "poor"?

The two of them returned to the empty main hall.

Right then, Austin Sage suddenly stopped in his tracks and closed his eyes. An invisible wave of Spiritual Power, with him at the center, silently swept across the entire Divine Hall.

One second.

Two seconds.

Austin Sage abruptly opened his eyes, a sharp glint flashing within them.

"So that’s how it is," he chuckled softly, a trace of mockery in his voice. "The greatest treasure was placed right in front of us from the very beginning."

TAP. TAP.

At that moment, the distinct sound of two sets of footsteps echoed from the entrance of the Divine Hall.

Raylo’s heart violently constricted!

Two Six-winged Angels armed with Long Spears were striding into the Divine Hall, seemingly conducting a routine patrol. Their gazes immediately landed on Raylo and Austin Sage in the center of the grand hall.

"Halt!" the leading Six-winged Angel shouted sternly. "Why are you loitering inside the main hall? Which legion do you belong to?"

They had been discovered!

Raylo’s back was instantly drenched in cold sweat.

However, Austin Sage merely cast them a faint glance.
