Chapter 659: Chapter 471: The Appearance of "Phillips’s Mobile Alchemy Workshop
The entire Giant’s Sleep valley looked as if some cataclysm had haphazardly redrawn it on the map.
Raylo guided the Ice Wind Demon Serpent, slowly flying back from miles away.
Gazing at the purgatorial landscape below, he was filled with nothing but boundless awe.
This was the destruction a Catastrophe Level powerhouse could wreak when fighting with all their might.
They were walking catastrophes.
The Ice Wind Demon Serpent slowly descended.
On the ground, the thousand-meter-tall Hill Giant had vanished.
Grand Elder Gu had reverted to his form as a stooped, elderly human.
He stood amidst the utter ruins, his back to Raylo, gazing into the distance, lost in thought.
"Elder."
Raylo leaped from the serpent’s back, walked up behind Gu, and gave a deep bow.
"Thank you for your help, Elder."
The bow came from the heart.
Gu slowly turned around.
The moment Raylo got a clear look at his face, his pupils shrank.
A few more deep wrinkles seemed to have been carved into Gu’s face, as if etched with a blade.
His already murky eyes were now even dimmer.
He seemed to have aged even more.
Raylo’s heart sank.
He understood.
Gu didn’t seem to notice Raylo’s stare. He just waved his hand dismissively.
"It was nothing. That slab of rock was weaker than I imagined."
He paused, his gaze sweeping over the valley he had personally destroyed.
"Go on. Find what you’re looking for."
Raylo opened his mouth to say something, but ultimately swallowed his words, burying his gratitude and concern deep inside.
He bowed once more, then turned and leaped back onto the Ice Wind Demon Serpent’s back.
With a thought, the massive Demon Serpent carried him, slowly ascending and beginning to circle low over the ruins.
Raylo’s Spiritual Power carefully scanned every suspicious spot below.
Soon, his gaze locked onto a recently collapsed mountain peak.
There, a small mountain of shattered rock had piled up from a landslide.
And amidst the gray-black rubble, a glint of cold, hard silver—unnatural and metallic—caught his eye.
Raylo guided the Ice Wind Demon Serpent to approach quickly.
Just as he’d suspected.
As he drew closer, he could see it more clearly.
Protruding from the shattered rock was the corner of a massive metal structure!
Its metal surface was engraved with countless complex and profound Magic Runes. Even after being buried for a century, it still emanated a faint halo of Magic Power.
Phillips’s Mobile Alchemy Workshop!
He’d found it!
Raylo’s eyes blazed with incredible fervor.
He suppressed the urge to charge down immediately, turned, and flew back to Gu’s side.
"Elder, I’ve found it."
"Mm."
Gu merely grunted in acknowledgment, seemingly unsurprised.
Raylo glanced at the sky. He knew it was impractical to try and dig such a behemoth out from under the mountain by himself.
He turned his gaze to the Golden Dragon Sun beside him.
"Sun."
"I need you to return to Black Stone Territory at once."
Raylo ordered.
"Have Master Barnaby, Kado, and the Giant Legion take the Cloud Sea Giant Whale and get here as fast as possible."
"ROAR!"
Beside him, Sun dropped his orange cat form. He let out a clear, resounding dragon’s roar, gave a powerful beat of his enormous golden Dragon Wings, and shot off toward Black Stone Territory as a streak of golden light.
「Night fell.」
The only sound in the ravaged Giant’s Sleep valley was the soft crackle of a campfire.
Raylo did not rest.
He and Grand Elder Gu stood watch beside the ruins where the Alchemy Workshop lay buried.
Gu sat cross-legged on a large boulder, meditating with his eyes closed, like a statue that had merged with the night.
Raylo, meanwhile, leaned against a fractured cliff face, his gaze periodically sweeping over the ruins, his eyes filled with unconcealable anticipation.
Moonlight and the other little ones were also uncharacteristically quiet.
They huddled around the campfire, their small heads close together.
The night passed in silence.
The next day, just as the pearly light of dawn was tracing a golden outline across the endless snow-capped mountains, a long, ethereal cry echoed from the distant eastern sky.
Raylo stood up, his spirits lifting.
He looked up.
On the eastern horizon, a figure was breaking through the clouds.
Its body was like a floating island, appearing and disappearing in the early morning mist.
It was the Cloud Sea Giant Whale!
And beside the Cloud Sea Giant Whale, a streak of golden light was tearing through the sky at an even greater speed, racing in their direction.
It was Sun!
They were here!
In just a few short minutes, Sun’s massive golden form was the first to arrive above the valley. With a single circle, he landed steadily beside Raylo.
"My Lord! We’re here!"
Immediately after, the colossal body of the Cloud Sea Giant Whale also began to descend slowly.
It didn’t land on the devastated valley floor, but hovered in mid-air instead.
Kado’s burly figure stood at the edge of the whale’s back, like an iron tower.
Behind him stood Gordo, Ug, and over a hundred Hill Giants, packed tightly together.
"My Lord!"
Kado leaped from the whale’s back, landing with a loud THUD.
"Kado."
Raylo nodded. Without any pleasantries, he pointed directly at the collapsed peak.
"Do you see that?"
"Your mission is to take that mountain... and dig it open!"
"ROAR!"
Kado didn’t ask why. He simply thumped his chest heavily.
He turned and gave the order to his kinsmen in mid-air.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Over a hundred Hill... Giants leaped from the back of the Cloud Sea Giant Whale one after another, raining down onto the valley below.
When they landed, the entire valley trembled.
The excavation had officially begun.
There was no delicate machinery, no complex Magic.
The Hill Giants had a clear division of labor. Some were responsible for moving boulders weighing several, or even dozens of tons, tossing them into distant clearings as if they were pebbles.
Others used their hands, which were as hard as steel, to directly dig through the soft earth and rubble, clearing a work area.
Their movements were crude, yet highly efficient.
Before them, the small mountain of rubble was like a sandcastle on a beach, rapidly dismantled and flattened.
Master Barnaby also floated down from the back of the Cloud Sea Giant Whale to the ground.
The moment he landed, he rushed to the edge of the ruins. His eyes were glued to the gradually emerging metal structure, and he muttered incessantly, his expression as fanatical as a zealot’s.
For any Alchemist, the name "Phillips" was a Legend.
Grand Elder Gu also opened his eyes, silently watching everything unfold.
Watching his descendants work so hard for a single command from Raylo, a complex look flashed in his eyes.
Time flew by amidst the roars of the Giants and the rumbling of boulders.
A full half-day passed.
When Kado lifted the last obstructing boulder with a furious roar and hurled it hundreds of meters away, the legendary Alchemy Workshop, buried for a century, was at last revealed in its entirety.
Everyone who saw its full form couldn’t help but stop what they were doing and hold their breath.
It was an iron behemoth, filled with an aesthetic that blended industry and Magic!
It rested quietly, half-embedded in the mountainside at a tilted angle.
Its main body was an immense cube, nearly two hundred meters in both length and width.
The entire structure was forged from an unknown, dark-silver alloy, its surface covered in intricate and precise Magic Runes and Energy Circuits.
Tucked in at its base were eight incredibly thick mechanical legs, like those of a spider.
Each leg was composed of dozens of complex metal joints.
The entire structure resembled an eight-legged metal Giant Beast. Even after a century of erosion, it still radiated the heart-stopping mystery and majesty befitting a pinnacle creation of its time.
