Giant Dragon Lord: Starting from Daily Intelligence

Chapter 642 - 462: An Invitation to Two Legendary Mages

Chapter 642: Chapter 462: An Invitation to Two Legendary Mages

"What... did you say?"

Master Wendel’s voice crackled.

Mage Delin couldn’t remain calm either.

’Alive?’

’A creature from the Cloud Sea Realm?’

’What does this mean?’

It meant they would no longer have to guess and study a cold, lifeless corpse.

They would have a living, breathing "specimen" from an Otherworld!

They could directly observe its ecology, study its habits, and even... through it, perceive the Laws of that world known as the Cloud Sea Realm!

To two Legendary Mages who had dedicated their lives to the pursuit of truth, this was a treasure more precious than any Divine Artifact or Forbidden Spell!

"Brother, that flying whale you found... it’s from the Cloud Sea Realm?"

At his side, Lillian’s small mouth hung open, her face a mask of disbelief.

Raylo winked at her before turning his gaze back to the two Legendary Mages.

"Yes. While fleeing from a ’Celestial Claw,’ it panicked and blundered into a spatial rift leading to our world, happening to fall right into my territory."

"Its injuries have healed now, and it’s currently helping transport some stone materials for the construction of my new city."

After a moment of shock, Delin and Wendel looked at each other again.

This time, there was no longer any hesitation in their eyes.

Mage Delin cleared his throat and spoke.

"Ahem... Young Raylo, we accept your proposal."

Master Wendel nodded along, his tone urgent.

"When do we leave? Let’s go now!"

"Master!"

Lillian and Avril cried out at the same time, looking helplessly at their impatient masters.

"Don’t be hasty, you two Masters."

Raylo smiled and waved his hand dismissively.

"My territory also needs some time to prepare for your arrival."

He pondered for a moment before giving a timeframe.

"How about three weeks from now? By then, the initial construction of my territory will be complete, and I’ll be better able to host the two of you."

"Three weeks... Alright."

Although Master Wendel was itching with impatience, he knew such matters couldn’t be rushed.

Mage Delin also nodded in agreement.

"When the time comes, we will bring Lillian and Avril with us to impose upon you in the Black Stone Territory."

And just like that, the matter was settled.

With the agreement made, the atmosphere inside the Magic Tower relaxed.

Most of Raylo’s attention, however, returned to the corpse of the "Celestial Claw."

This was a rare opportunity.

Before he left, he had to learn as much as possible about this top predator from another world.

He walked over to the enormous corpse, crouched down, and reached out, gently touching the metallic, Dark Gold plumage.

It was cold and hard to the touch. When he ran a fingertip across it, it even emitted a faint CLANGING sound.

The edge of every single feather was as sharp as a razor.

Raylo had no doubt that in high-speed flight, these feathers alone would be enough to slice through steel.

His gaze fell upon a massive wound at the base of the corpse’s wing.

It had been brutally torn open by some immense power.

’Spatial turbulence?’

’Or some other strange force?’

Through the mangled flesh, Raylo could clearly see bones as crystalline as white jade and tendons tougher than steel cables.

’A perfect killing machine,’ Raylo assessed in his mind.

Every inch of its body seemed to have been born for battle and the hunt.

Its streamlined physique, packed with explosive muscle, and those claws capable of tearing anything apart.

Raylo stood up and slowly circled the corpse.

The information transmitted to him by the Cloud Sea Giant Whale surfaced in his mind.

The golden "Celestial Claw" that had hunted it, with a wingspan of over two thousand meters, was just an adolescent juvenile within its clan.

Raylo’s gaze fell back upon the "Celestial Claw" corpse before him.

Its body was nearly a thousand meters long. Although its folded wings couldn’t be spread, its size was likely not much different from the "Celestial Claw" that had hunted the Cloud Sea Giant Whale.

A theory began to take shape in Raylo’s mind.

This "Celestial Claw" before him, brought back for research by the two Legendary Mages, had already reached the strength of a Tier Six Catastrophe Level...

’It’s probably also just a so-called juvenile. Or rather, it’s in its Growth Stage.’

Once the thought appeared, it grew like uncontrollable weeds, impossible to contain.

A juvenile already possessed Catastrophe Level power.

If it reached adulthood, how terrifying would it be?

’Catastrophe Level Peak?’

’Or even... possibly touching the threshold of the legendary Tier Seven World Destruction Level, enough to annihilate an entire world?’

Raylo felt a tremor in his heart.

’The Cloud Sea Realm... just what kind of terrifying world is it?’

To be able to birth such a powerful species of creature.

He took a deep breath, forcibly suppressing the shock in his heart.

These were not things he needed to consider for the time being.

He observed it carefully for a while longer before turning and walking back to Avril and Lillian’s side.

"I have to go back," he said to Avril.

"You’re not staying a little longer?"

A trace of reluctance showed in Avril’s eyes.

"No, there’s still too much to do in the territory."

Raylo squeezed her hand and said softly, "We’ll be able to see each other in the Black Stone Territory in three weeks."

He then ruffled Lillian’s hair.

"You too. Study hard and don’t cause any trouble for your master."

"I know, Stinky Brother!"

Lillian made a face at him, but still nodded obediently.

After a simple farewell, Raylo didn’t linger.

He turned, strode swiftly down the stairs, and left the Magic Tower.

In the plaza, Lightning had been waiting for a long time.

Raylo swung himself onto the dragon’s back and glanced back one last time at the tall, black tower.

Lightning shot through the Cloud Sea, tearing fleeting fissures in the churning cloud layers.

The return journey always felt much faster than the trip out.

Raylo leaned against Lightning’s broad neck, the frigid wind kept at bay by an invisible barrier.

His gaze was calm, but his thoughts churned restlessly, like the Cloud Sea beneath him.

This trip deep into the Black Stone Mountain Range had yielded far more than he’d expected.

Not only had he confirmed that Avril was safe, but he had also successfully established a connection with two of the Continent’s top Legendary Mages.

In three weeks, they would all gather in the Black Stone Territory.

But Raylo was thinking of far more than just that.

What he was truly focused on was the impending "spatial disturbance" that would sweep across the entire Black Stone Mountain Range.

In the eyes of Masters Delin and Wendel, it was a disaster to be handled with caution, but also a perfect opportunity to study the Law of Space.

But in Raylo’s eyes, it was something more: a once-in-a-lifetime... opportunity.

The piece of intelligence about the spatial disturbance surfaced in his mind.

[The Black Stone Mountain Range will experience a spatial disturbance affecting the entire region in one month... The Mobile Alchemy Workshop of the Legendary Alchemy Master "Phillips," who disappeared in the Black Stone Mountain Range a century ago, will be revealed from its hiding place during this disturbance.]

Phillips!

That name was a Legend in the history of Alchemy on the Continent.

Rumor had it he could perform feats like turning stones into gold and creating Alchemy Life that possessed souls.

And his most famous creation was the semi-finished Divine Artifact said to be capable of the Decomposition and Reorganization of all things—the "Furnace of All Things."

’If I could obtain it...’

Raylo’s heart betrayed him and began to beat faster.

This was the true, deepest reason he had invited the two Legendary Mages to the Black Stone Territory.

Dealing with the spatial disturbance would require the Power of two Legendary Mages.

And exploring Phillips’s Alchemy Workshop would require the help of two of the greatest Legendary Mages of the era even more.

Everything was falling into place as if from a pre-written script.

Besides the Alchemy Workshop, the randomly appearing spatial rifts were themselves massive treasure troves.

While terrifying creatures like the "Celestial Claw" might emerge and bring disaster,

it was just as likely that rare minerals, Magic Plants, or even Magical Beasts of immense value like the Cloud Sea Giant Whale could appear from other worlds.

Danger and opportunity coexisted.

As the sun set, its golden afterglow dyed the Cloud Sea a magnificent crimson-orange.

On the distant horizon, the silhouette of Black Stone City was already faintly visible.
