Chapter 637: Chapter 460: New Information and "Scapegoat Hero" Otto III
Gu took the two items, casually weighing them in his hands.
He looked at Raylo and said,
"Crafting the Puppet will take some time. Are you in a hurry for it?"
"I’m not in a hurry."
Raylo answered quickly.
"Very well."
Gu nodded.
"I’ll deliver the finished product to you in half a month."
With that, he ignored Raylo and walked over to the edge of the cliff.
Raylo watched his back, his heart brimming with anticipation.
’In just half a month, I’ll have a Catastrophe Level Puppet!’
’This felt even more unreal than a dream.’
He calmed his excitement, turned, and walked toward the nearby Flowing Wind Giant Dragon.
At that moment, the Flowing Wind Giant Dragon was lying on the ground, its enormous head pillowed on its foreclaws as it silently licked the wounds it had sustained in battle.
The residual Holy Light Energy in the wounds continued to erode its draconic body.
Raylo walked up to it.
"Lord Flowing Wind, how are you feeling?"
he asked via Spiritual Power.
The Flowing Wind Giant Dragon raised its head, looking at Raylo with a complex look in its eyes.
Its voice echoed in Raylo’s mind.
"It’s just this nauseating energy. A minor nuisance."
Raylo thought for a moment before taking a Small Crystal Bottle from his Spatial Bag.
Inside the bottle was the Life Potion Master Barnaby had concocted from the Heart of the Ancient Tree.
"Lord Flowing Wind, this Potion might be useful."
Raylo handed the Crystal Bottle over.
The Flowing Wind Giant Dragon glanced at the green liquid in the bottle, which emanated a dense aura of life, and did not refuse it.
It opened its massive maw, revealing a gap wide enough for a man to pass through, and Raylo poured the Potion in.
A gentle green glow slid down its throat and then spread rapidly through its entire body.
The Flowing Wind Giant Dragon let out a low, contented rumble.
White smoke billowed from the wounds corroded by Holy Light, as the stubborn Power of Holy Light was gradually neutralized and dispersed by the wash of dense Life Energy.
"This is potent."
The Flowing Wind Giant Dragon’s tone carried a hint of surprise.
"Human, you always manage to come up with surprising things."
"We’re friends, aren’t we?"
Raylo smiled.
The Flowing Wind Giant Dragon fell silent for a moment before acknowledging Raylo’s words.
"Yes... friend."
Raylo took the opportunity to add,
"Lord Flowing Wind, I have a proposal."
He looked at the Flowing Wind Giant Dragon, his expression turning serious.
"Although the Light Holy See failed this time, they will by no means let this matter rest. And as you saw, they even dispatched two Catastrophe Level powerhouses to deal with you."
"The location of Storm Cape is now exposed. Next time, they might send three, or even four, Catastrophe Level powerhouses."
"It’s too dangerous for you to stay here alone, especially while you need to protect your child."
Raylo’s words had clearly struck a nerve.
It turned its head and glanced toward the cave behind the cliff, the one it had concealed with a Storm Barrier.
Inside the cave was its unhatched Dragon Egg.
That was its sole heir, and its greatest vulnerability.
"What is your proposal?"
the Flowing Wind Giant Dragon asked.
"Relocate."
Raylo said, slowly and deliberately.
"Leave this place, take your Dragon Egg, and relocate to my territory, Black Stone Territory."
Raylo suggested.
’Black Stone Territory already had three Domain Level Dragons, a massive Giant Legion, and, soon, a Catastrophe Level Demon Serpent Puppet.’
’Adding the Flowing Wind Giant Dragon—a true Catastrophe Level power—to the mix...’
’Such formidable Power gathered in one place would be enough to make any faction think twice before making a move.’
The Flowing Wind Giant Dragon fell silent once more.
The light in its enormous eyes flickered with uncertainty.
After a long time, it slowly shook its head.
"Human... friend. I appreciate your kindness."
"But for now, I cannot leave this place."
A trace of disappointment flashed in Raylo’s eyes.
The Flowing Wind Giant Dragon seemed to sense his disappointment and continued to explain:
"Storm Cape is a special place. It is the very source of the Power that allowed me to ascend to the Catastrophe Level. The storms here provide the best environment for my child to grow."
"Besides, I have lived here for too long. I have things here... things I cannot easily forsake."
Raylo understood.
’Every ancient Giant Dragon has its own secrets and treasures.’
’Clearly, Storm Cape held a great secret, one that had even provided the Flowing Wind Giant Dragon with the very opportunity it needed to reach the Catastrophe Level.’
’Forcing the issue would be unwise.’
"I understand."
Raylo nodded.
"Lord Flowing Wind, I respect your choice."
"However..."
The Flowing Wind Giant Dragon’s tone suddenly shifted.
It lowered its enormous head, drawing close to Raylo.
It opened its mouth and from deep within its throat, it expelled a Dragon Scale. The scale was a solid, cyan-green color, looking as if it had been carved from the purest jade.
The palm-sized Dragon Scale was covered in arcane Wind Magic Patterns and radiated a gentle light.
"Take it."
the Flowing Wind Giant Dragon said.
"From this day forward, you shall be the greatest human friend to me, Flowing Wind."
"This Dragon Scale contains my Origin Power. From now on, no matter where you are, if you infuse it with Magic Power, my will shall descend through it for a short time to help you in a crisis."
"You can also use this Original Dragon Scale to communicate with me. When I sense your call, I will follow the wind’s guidance and come to your side at once."
This was a promise.
A promise from a Catastrophe Level Giant Dragon.
Raylo solemnly extended both hands to receive the Dragon Scale that contained the Flowing Wind Giant Dragon’s Origin Power.
