Chapter 622: Chapter 453: The Terrifying "Celestial Claw" and Taming the Cloud Sea Giant Whale

"Quickly, Master!"

Raylo shouted immediately.

Master Barnaby, clutching the potion vial, slid nimbly down the slope. He ran to the Giant Whale’s mouth and carefully uncorked the vial.

He aimed the mouth of the vial at the crack and poured all of the emerald-green potion inside.

The potion flowed through the gap and into the Giant Whale’s mouth. A soft, green light shone from its maw, then spread across its entire body like ripples in water.

Raylo could clearly see countless granules of flesh begin to grow rapidly over the hideous wounds on the Giant Whale’s back. The torn flesh squirmed and mended at a speed visible to the naked eye.

The gushing blood slowed to a trickle, and then stopped completely.

"It’s working!"

Ed exclaimed quietly from the side.

Everyone let out a sigh of relief.

The Hill Giants released their grip, slumping to the ground one by one, panting from exhaustion.

Half an hour passed in tense anticipation.

Suddenly, the Cloud Sea Giant Whale’s mountain-like body shifted slightly. Then, its massive eyelids began to tremble before slowly lifting open.

A pair of deep blue eyes was revealed to them all. The eyes were like the purest depths of the ocean, holding no savagery or violence—only sheer confusion and bewilderment.

It was awake.

The Giant Whale’s eyes slowly roamed. It saw the Hill Giants who had bound it tightly, and it saw Raylo’s group standing at the edge of the pit.

Fear and confusion mingled in its eyes.

"Wooo..."

A low, long, mournful cry emanated from deep within its throat, filled with helplessness and sorrow.

Raylo looked at the huge creature, a plan already forming in his mind.

He turned and called out to Sun, who was not far away.

"Sun."

Hearing the call, Sun slowly descended to the edge of the valley, its golden eyes fixed on Raylo.

When the Cloud Sea Giant Whale in the valley saw the Golden Dragon appear, its huge body trembled visibly.

Giant Dragons were also apex predators.

"Sun, go and communicate with it."

Raylo pointed at the Giant Whale.

"Tell it that this is Black Stone Territory, my domain. Ask if it is willing to submit to me, stay here, and serve me. I will provide it with food and a habitat to survive."

Sun nodded.

It walked up to the Cloud Sea Giant Whale.

"ROAR..."

Sun let out a low draconic growl—not as a threat, but as the start of a conversation.

A flicker of surprise crossed the Cloud Sea Giant Whale’s enormous blue eyes. It seemed not to have expected this Golden Dragon to communicate in its species’ own way.

"Wooo... roooar..."

It, too, produced a series of low syllables, as if recounting a story.

A conversation that would sound like mere beastly roars to an outsider unfolded between the two Giant Beasts.

Raylo waited quietly on the side.

As time ticked by, the expression on Sun’s face shifted from calm to grave, and finally to a hint of sympathy.

Finally, it stopped communicating, turned around, and looked back at Raylo.

"My lord, it agrees."

Sun said in a deep voice.

A relieved smile appeared on Raylo’s face.

"It said that in its home, a world called the ’Cloud Sea,’ a terrifying creature known as the ’Celestial Claw’ has appeared in their habitat."

Sun continued to relay the message.

"Its entire species is being hunted. It has nowhere else to go and is willing to stay in your territory to seek refuge."

"Very good."

Raylo nodded in satisfaction.

"Tell it that from this day forward, Black Stone Territory is its new home. Here, it will be protected and will no longer need to be a fugitive."

Having received Raylo’s promise, Sun turned its enormous head toward the Cloud Sea Giant Whale and once again let out a low draconic growl.

The Cloud Sea Giant Whale gently shook its head and let out a low cry of submission.

It seemed the matter was resolved so smoothly.

Just as Raylo was about to tell Kado to release the Giant Whale’s restraints, Sun suddenly turned its head back, its golden draconic eyes filled with unprecedented gravity.

"My lord, there is one more thing."

"What is it?"

Raylo asked.

Sun’s tone became extremely heavy.

"It says it wasn’t the only one to escape. Just before it was hunted down and rushed into the spatial rift, it saw several of its companions frantically fleeing into other rifts in different directions."

Raylo’s brow furrowed. ’It seems that back in the Cloud Sea, it wasn’t just the one spatial rift leading to Black Stone Territory that appeared. Multiple rifts must have opened simultaneously, and it was just by chance that this one led here.’

Sun paused, as if organizing its thoughts. It looked at Raylo and said, word by word,

"And... it said that the golden ’Celestial Claw’ with a wingspan of over two thousand meters, the one that nearly killed it..."

The Golden Dragon’s voice dropped to a low whisper, as if revealing a terrible secret.

"...was just a juvenile among its species."

The very wind in the valley seemed to stand still.

"What... what does an adult look like?"

Raylo couldn’t help but turn pale. ’A terrifying raptor like that, and it wasn’t even an adult? Just how horrifying would a full-grown ’Celestial Claw’ be?’

Sun turned its massive golden head toward the Cloud Sea Giant Whale and let out a low roar from its throat.

Fear resurfaced in the Giant Whale’s deep blue eyes. Its body even shrank back instinctively, causing the entire valley to tremble slightly.

It let out a sorrowful cry.

As Sun listened, its golden eyes grew heavy.

It turned its head back and looked at Raylo.

"My lord, it has never seen one."

"It says that according to the legends in its bloodline memory, when an adult ’Celestial Claw’ spreads its wings, it can blot out the sky of their world, casting a shadow that covers the entire Cloud Sea."
