Chapter 615: Chapter 450: Stretch a Hand, Pinch a Worm, Great Elder "Gu" Takes Action
This wasn’t a contest of energy levels, but an absolute, crushing domination from a higher plane: the level of Law.
A mere sliver of the Nine-headed Demon Serpent’s will had descended, yet its phantom suppressed everyone present.
An invisible, terrifying pressure descended from the heavens, blanketing the Blood Lake.
In an instant, the three Domain Level Dragons—Moonlight, Sun, and Lightning—felt as if an invisible mountain range was crushing them. It became incredibly difficult to even flap their wings, and their bodies began to fall uncontrollably toward the ground.
Raylo gritted his teeth, furiously circulating all the Fighting Spirit and Magic Power in his body to resist the pressure.
However, his strength was still insignificant in the face of this will.
Najasha’s hundred-meter-long body slithered above the Blood Lake. An evil light flowed over her dark red scales, and her aura was more than ten times stronger than before.
She slowly raised her head. The eyes belonged to Najasha, but they now glinted with a cold, ancient red light that was not hers.
Her gaze pierced through space, locking firmly onto Raylo as he struggled against the oppressive force.
A cold, cruel, and slightly curious thought echoed directly in Raylo’s mind.
"I remember your scent. Do you still have my head?"
Raylo was horrified.
Ever since venturing deep into the Jade Swamp, Raylo had deliberately not used the "Ice Wind" Demon Head. He had kept it stored away in his Spatial Bag precisely to avoid being detected by the Nine-headed Demon Serpent in the swamp’s depths.
But he never expected that the Nine-headed Demon Serpent’s will, now possessing Najasha, would choose this moment to speak to him.
"Human, toss my head into the Blood Lake, and I will grant you the opportunity to become my servant."
"Servant?"
Under the terrifying pressure, Raylo’s consciousness wavered violently, on the verge of being torn to shreds.
The ancient, cold voice echoed in his mind, laced with an air of condescending charity, as if offering a great boon.
"It would be your honor."
"Dream on!"
Raylo forced the two words through his gritted teeth as his Spiritual Power slammed into the consciousness invading his mind.
Raylo’s mental counterattack vanished without a trace, like a stone in the ocean. It failed to cause even a ripple and instead provoked a far more violent assault.
His head rang as if struck by a Giant Hammer, and his vision instantly went black.
Just as his consciousness was about to be consumed by this torrent, a cool, gentle stream of Spiritual Power flowed to him through his contractual link.
This power quickly formed a spiritual barrier around his spiritual core.
It was Moonlight!
The Nine-headed Demon Serpent’s mental assault—powerful enough to crush a Domain Level Powerhouse—slammed against the thin, silver barrier and was, for the moment, held at bay.
"Oh? An interesting little thing."
A hint of amusement entered the Nine-headed Demon Serpent’s thoughts. Its attention shifted from Raylo to Moonlight, who was struggling to support him from below.
"A Silver Dragon with a rather impressive bloodline."
Above the Blood Lake, the giant serpent head possessing Najasha rose slightly, its crimson, vertical pupils surveying all below.
"Human, my patience is limited."
"Hand over my head. It does not belong to you."
Panting heavily, Raylo steadied his mind with Moonlight’s help.
He looked up at the hundred-meter Demon Serpent coiled above the Blood Lake, gazing at the face that was Najasha’s, yet held a completely foreign expression.
"You want it? Then come and take it yourself!"
Raylo tightened his grip on the Divine Weapon in his hand.
He knew full well that the creature wanted more than just the "Ice Wind" Demon Head.
Once the head was thrown into the Blood Lake, the Nine-headed Demon Serpent could use that vast energy to descend not just as a wisp of will, but as a true avatar!
At that point, the entire Jade Swamp would become a living Purgatory.
"Foolish humans. You are forever incapable of making the right choice!"
The Nine-headed Demon Serpent’s will lost all patience. The coldness in its voice morphed into tangible killing intent.
"Since you choose to make an enemy of me, you can perish along with your Giant Dragons!"
The instant its voice faded, the Demon Serpent’s phantom trembled violently.
The Blood Lake below immediately began to churn, like a cauldron of boiling blood.
BOOM!
A thick pillar of blood erupted toward the sky.
It twisted and warped in midair as countless vengeful souls circled and wailed within.
In the blink of an eye, a monstrous, hundred-meter-long claw covered in dark red scales materialized in the air.
Demonic Qi swirled around the giant claw, entwined with the Power of Law. The aura it emanated was so immense it warped the very space around it.
The pained cries of the three Giant Dragons—Moonlight, Sun, and Lightning—rang out. Their massive bodies were pinned down by this power, unable to move so much as a single claw.
The giant claw of blood had only one target.
Raylo!
"Broken Flow!"
Raylo poured every ounce of his strength into the Divine Weapon and slashed with all his might at the giant claw that blotted out the sky.
The translucent Sword Qi tore through the air, imbued with a sharpness that could sever anything, and shot toward the grasping claw.
This time, however, the ever-effective Sword Qi failed.
The instant the Sword Qi touched the giant claw, it was like water hitting a red-hot iron—it evaporated instantly, failing to create so much as a ripple.
Raylo’s pupils shrank. He swung his sword again without a moment’s hesitation.
"Broken Flow!"
"Broken Flow!"
He unleashed several more blasts of Sword Qi in succession, but the result was the same.
In the face of such an absolute difference in power, even a Divine Weapon seemed utterly useless.
Carrying an aura of utter annihilation, the giant claw of blood swept down toward Raylo.
Raylo could even smell the thick, coppery stench of blood from the claw and hear the piercing shrieks of the countless vengeful souls trapped within.
The shadow of death had never loomed so clearly in his mind.
