Chapter 1294: Good News (I)

Chapter 1294: Good News (I)

"I never expected to have the chance to see you again, Daoist Master!" Shangguan Lifeng looked conflicted. There was joy at reuniting with an old acquaintance, yet also restraint. Remembering something, he quickly asked, "Where is the other Daoist Master now?"

Qin Sang sighed. "Senior Wandering Man passed away many years ago."

Shangguan Lifeng fell silent. The sense of inferiority in his heart faded somewhat. At least he was still alive.

Rumble! Thunder suddenly roared in the distance, shaking the earth.

Within the dark clouds, lightning writhed like serpents. A blazing flash burst forth like a radiant sun, nearly tearing the clouds apart as lightning cracked across the sky.

Amid the lightning, a faint silhouette of a giant falcon could be seen. Its wings stretched like clouds hanging from the heavens, as if it commanded the power of lightning itself. It raised its head and shot upward, letting out a sharp, piercing cry.

The sight alone made one’s face pale. The sound chilled the soul.

Qin Sang focused his gaze and saw that it was Jingyu unleashing a supernatural ability. Such overwhelming force meant she had encountered a formidable enemy. His expression shifted slightly as he said in a low voice, "This isn’t the time to reminisce. You can use this token to find me later... Stay safe."

Qin Sang tossed a command token to Shangguan Lifeng. With a flap of lightning wings behind him, he transformed into a bolt of lightning and shot toward the storm clouds.

Shangguan Lifeng opened his mouth, wanting to speak but stopping himself. Only after Qin Sang disappeared from sight did he realize he had forgotten to ask about Daoist Master Qingfeng’s true identity.

Daoist Master Qingfeng has to be an alias. Otherwise, I could not possibly have never heard of him.

He quickly flipped over the token in his hand and saw a single character engraved upon it. "Qin." Then he recalled the peerless phoenix wings behind Qin Sang that had seemed almost unreal.

A thought suddenly struck Shangguan Lifeng, and his eyes widened. "It’s him!"

Sin Abyss had long been plotting. They had set up a deadly array here, waiting for their enemies to walk into the trap.

The Two-Domain Alliance fell into the ambush, and signs of defeat had already begun to show.

Unexpectedly, Qin Sang and the others entered the battlefield, introducing a variable that quickly changed the situation. After a fierce battle, the Spiritual Infant cultivators of Sin Abyss saw that no greater advantage could be gained and were forced to withdraw in haste.

After the battle, Qin Sang and his two companions sat in meditation, regulating their breathing.

Two Spiritual Infant cultivators had commanded this army. After gathering the scattered troops, one of them came forward and offered a fist-and-palm salute in thanks. "Thanks to the three of you, otherwise not only would we have suffered heavy losses, the two of us might not have survived."

This man was an elder of the Tianxing Alliance, surnamed Zuo.

Elder Zuo still felt lingering fear. This time, Sin Abyss had harbored immense ambition. They had not only wanted to annihilate this army but also intended to kill the both of them.

"The situation had been going too smoothly before. I nearly forgot that Sin Abyss was once a dangerous foe. The slightest lapse gave them an opening," Elder Zuo admitted with shame.

Qin Sang stood up and said gravely, "Old Devil Ye is clearly unwilling to accept defeat. This was likely a long-planned counterattack. You’re certainly not the only one who was ambushed. However, the overall momentum cannot be stopped. Their attempt to halt our advance this way is nothing but wishful thinking!"

Before he finished speaking, another Spiritual Infant cultivator hurried over. "We just received a message from Daoist Master. Several other armies, like ours, were also ambushed. Daoist Master has ordered us to hold our ground. Reinforcements will arrive soon..."

The group exchanged glances.

The judgment of Daoist Master Zhenyi matched Qin Sang’s. This was merely Sin Abyss’s final desperate struggle. Once this offensive was crushed, they would no longer have the strength to counterattack!

The greater situation took priority. There was no time to meet Shangguan Lifeng again.

After receiving the message, Qin Sang and the others left Elder Zuo behind to handle the aftermath while the rest immediately set off to reinforce other locations.

Qin Sang and Jingyu barely paused for rest, moving across multiple battlefields.

The Two-Domain Alliance advanced with unstoppable momentum. Even when facing temporary setbacks, they did not collapse easily. Most forces held out until reinforcements arrived, then launched counterattacks. A full rout never formed.

This was a massive battle that lasted two days and two nights. Afterward, heavy rain poured down. The rain washed away the bloodshed of those two days.

Sin Abyss’s final wave of attacks was repelled. Seeing that all hope was lost, they finally withdrew completely.

In this battle, the Two-Domain Alliance suffered their heaviest losses since the counteroffensive began. Yet it also ignited their ferocity, and they soon launched an even more brutal retaliation against Sin Abyss.

Two months later...

Since that great battle, the situation rarely fluctuated.

Before the invasion by Sin Abyss, the central region of the great plains had been a buffer zone between them and Tianxing Alliance, a long-disputed territory. Now, the armies of the Two-Domain Alliance had crossed it and were advancing into Sin Abyss’s heartland.

Wherever the army passed, cities, spirit mines, and other assets that once belonged to Sin Abyss fell into their hands. Having tasted the benefits, the alliance had no intention of stopping.

After discussion among the Spiritual Infant cultivators, they judged that Sin Abyss was already preparing to retreat to its stronghold. They decided to pursue relentlessly and drive them completely out of the plains.

As for invading Sin Abyss’s base, everyone understood the likelihood was low. Doing so would provoke a desperate last stand. Even if victorious, the alliance would pay an unbearable price.

Tianxing Alliance bore deep hatred toward Sin Abyss, and some were eager to try. However, cultivators from Small Cold Domain remained calm and showed little interest. They would not follow such recklessness.

The greatest winner of this war was undoubtedly Small Cold Domain.

Setting aside other gains, the resources on the plains alone were significant. Originally, Small Cold Domain had no opportunity to intervene, but now they directly obtained half, and even opened a passage into the desert. Moreover, their homeland had never been touched by war. Sin Abyss had always been held back at Tianxing Highland. They had merely contributed manpower and effort.
