Chapter 966: Xiao Chong Side Story 35_2
Xiao Chong: "Okay, I’ll give you a morning call tomorrow."
Lin Wanwan: "Hmm, going to sleep now, it’s really late, almost eleven. Goodnight."
Xiao Chong: "Goodnight |•ˇ₃ˇ•。)"
Lin Wanwan kicked her phone to the foot of the bed, turned off the night light, and snuggled under a thin blanket counting sheep to prepare for sleep.
The conditions in their dorm were even better than she had imagined, with air conditioning installed, cool and comfortable.
The next day, it was not Xiao Chong’s morning call that woke Lin Wanwan up, but the sound of English reading from the balcony. She checked the time; it was only six in the morning.
Parting the curtains and peering out, she found Wu Xiangxiang reading from a book.
Even though Wu Xiangxiang’s voice wasn’t loud, the morning was so quiet, and Lin Wanwan wasn’t sleeping deeply having just changed to a new environment, so she woke up.
Indeed, he truly deserved the title of top scorer; such diligence made Lin Wanwan feel she couldn’t compare.
She crawled back into her mosquito net, found her phone, and texted Xiao Chong: "I’m awake. My top scorer roommate is already reading English on the second day after joining school!"
Xiao Chong: "Just about to call you, then wash up and come down, let’s grab breakfast, and it’ll take some time to go to the city."
Lin Wanwan: "Okay."
Actually, there are quite a few bank branches around the school, but Lin Wanwan wanted to deposit money at the headquarters, it felt a bit safer.
Xiao Chong happily went along with her plans; just starting school, he had plenty of time to spend with her.
Lin Wanwan changed out of her pajamas on her bed, climbing down to Wu Xiangxiang smiling apologetically at her, whispering, "Sorry, did I wake you?"
She had already closed the balcony door to lower the volume while reading.
Lin Wanwan laughed: "It’s okay, I was going to get up anyway. You’re really dedicated, what are you reading?"
Wu Xiangxiang replied: "Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. I really like this book."
Lin Wanwan nodded: "It’s indeed a good read, I like it too."
After that, she gathered her basin, towel, toothbrush, and other items, opened the door, and went out.
The dormitories here don’t have private bathrooms; everyone on the floor shares the washroom and shower.
Though it was only six o’clock, quite a few people were already up and washing.
Today, they would gather in the afternoon to go to the military training base, yet it was surprising to see everyone waking up so early. Indeed, in the top school, there are truly many self-disciplined individuals!
Lin Wanwan felt pressure; she was planning to sleep until seven after starting university, being someone who found it hard to get up.
After washing up and returning to the dorm, Wu Xiangxiang invited her to go to the cafeteria downstairs for breakfast.
Lin Wanwan said with some embarrassment, "My boyfriend is here too, if you don’t mind, we can go together."
Wu Xiangxiang exclaimed, "You already have a boyfriend?"
Lin Wanwan nodded.
"You already have a boyfriend, did you start dating in high school? Wow, settling down so early—you must be missing out, being so pretty you could have enjoyed everyone chasing after you in university." Wu Xiangxiang was full of curiosity and kept exclaiming.
"Come on, let me meet your boyfriend, I’m really intrigued. By the way, is he from our school too?"
Listening to her words, Lin Wanwan felt amused and helpless, simply replying: "Yes, he’s from our school, in the Math Department."
Lin Wanwan took out a black mini double C bag from the wardrobe and slung it over her shoulder as Wu Xiangxiang warmly linked arms with her.
The other two roommates continued sleeping.
Downstairs, Lin Wanwan lifted her gaze to see Xiao Chong standing tall, one hand in his pocket.
He was facing away from the entrance of Lin Wanwan’s dorm building, wearing a simple white T-shirt, a white cap, paired with light water-washed jeans, and basketball shoes—fresh and clean.
As if sensing Lin Wanwan’s presence, he looked back before she could even call out to him.
"Wanwan, good morning."
In that instant, many poems surged in Wu Xiangxiang’s mind, but none could express what she saw now.
She stared at Xiao Chong, covering her mouth, speechless, feeling her little heart scream excitedly—
Oh my, how can someone naturally appear soft-focused!
At this point, Lin Wanwan was already making introductions: "My top scorer roommate, Wu Xiangxiang from Yu City, she’s coming with us to the cafeteria. Xiangxiang, this is my boyfriend, Xiao Chong."
Xiao Chong nodded lightly at her, his expression calm, then shifted his gaze to her linking arms with Lin Wanwan.
