Chapter 1015: Xiao Chong Extra 51_3
If she knew this cruise ship belonged to Lu Shouyue and that she could stay a night for free as Lin Wanwan’s friend, maybe her principles would have wavered a bit.
It’s a super luxury cruise! Who knows if she’ll ever have another chance to board such a ship in her lifetime.
After all the guests and staff disembarked, the cruise set sail again, heading toward the sea.
Lu’s mother, having had a busy day, went to rest early, but Lu Shouyue and his friends were still quite energetic.
It’s only ten o’clock in the evening; the nightlife is just starting. A barbecue party and night fishing can definitely be arranged!
Lin Wanwan had already changed out of the qipao she wore during the event, switching to her light down jacket and jeans for convenience.
Standing on the lowered aquatic platform for sea fishing was extremely fun.
The seafood caught by herself could be immediately boiled or grilled and eaten; the very thought was mouthwatering.
Among the young people left for tonight, besides Lu Shouyue, all the others were paired up.
Especially Wang Bocheng, who had hooked up with a beauty at the event and, in just a few hours of acquaintance, she was willing to stay with him for a delightful night.
But Lu Shouyue seemed used to such situations and was indifferent, not even bothering to find a date to enhance the mood. He enthusiastically went night fishing with Xiao Chong and Lin Wanwan.
March to April is a great time for squid fishing, and at night they mostly caught squid. Lin Wanwan herself personally pulled up several strings of squid.
Amid the fun, Lin Wanwan’s stomach suddenly let out a "grumbling" sound.
As a working girl, Lin Wanwan hadn’t had a proper meal tonight, only eating a casual box meal to stave off hunger, and now her stomach was playing a symphony of emptiness.
At this moment, standing to her left was Xiao Chong, and to her right was Lu Shouyue. Her stomach growling so abruptly made her flush red with embarrassment.
If it were only Xiao Chong, Lin Wanwan wouldn’t care. After all, they were so close that she’d even asked him to pass toilet paper when she ran out.
The problem was Lu Shouyue standing beside her, which was awkward, considering despite his camaraderie with Xiao Chong, he wasn’t that familiar with Lin Wanwan.
Lin Wanwan hadn’t seen Lu Shouyue more than a few times in total.
"Wanwan, why don’t we go grab something to eat and come back to fish?" Xiao Chong asked Lin Wanwan with a smile.
"But what if I leave and a big fish bites?" Mainly, Lin Wanwan didn’t want to admit she was hungry; surely her stomach wasn’t the one that just growled!
She was playing make-believe deftly.
"It won’t be that coincidental." Xiao Chong said, glancing at Lin Wanwan’s face, full of unfinished playfulness, and changed his tone, "Then you keep fishing; I’ll grill some food for you."
Lin Wanwan immediately agreed, "Alright."
So Xiao Chong put down his fishing rod, asked Lin Wanwan to watch it for him, and went to the barbecue stall behind to grill seafood.
Just after Xiao Chong left, his fishing rod showed some activity.
Lin Wanwan excitedly grabbed the rod, with little experience, she casually opened the slot and pulled the hook backward.
It was evident she had little experience in sea fishing. Her casual operation got her pulled into the sea by the force on the other end of the rod.
With a splash, wearing her light down jacket, Lin Wanwan was dragged into the deep sea by a big fish.
Even though she had learned swimming in high school, the deep-sea dread at night still sent chills down her spine.
She quickly let go of the fishing rod, only thinking of climbing back on board quickly.
The next second, she felt a strong arm grab the back of her neck, then her waist was held, pulling her upward.
With a splashing sound, Lin Wanwan broke the surface, feeling like she had come back to life, opening her eyes to people rushing over to pull them up.
Turning her head, she realized that the firm chest behind her belonged not to Xiao Chong, but to the ship’s owner, Lu Shouyue.
After the two of them were pulled back up by the crowd, Xiao Chong followed closely behind.
When Lin Wanwan had been pulled into the water by the big fish just moments ago, a string in Lu Shouyue’s mind snapped with a twang.
He almost reflexively followed her into the sea to save her, while Xiao Chong, who was grilling fish for Lin Wanwan, being further away, rushed into the sea just a step slower, delaying the rescue as well.
By nearly April, the sea at this latitude of Jin City was still very cold. Falling into the water and being blown by the sea breeze made it even colder.
The three of them wrapped in towels hastily handed over by others, rushed toward the bathroom inside the cabin without hesitation.
Due to Lin Wanwan’s unexpected fall, Xiao Chong lost interest in joining the barbecue and night fishing party on deck.
After showering in the public bathroom, he went to the suite that Lu Shouyue had arranged for him, wearing a robe, to find Lin Wanwan, who was drying her hair in front of the mirror at the washstand.
He went over and hugged her from behind, kissing her cheek, "You scared me to death just now. It’s all my fault for being so far away from you."
Lin Wanwan turned off the hairdryer, touching face to face with him, "It was just a little accident. You and Mr. Lu reacted too quickly. If you had been a bit later, I could have swum up myself. I did get a perfect score in swimming for my high school exam!"
Xiao Chong didn’t reply, just turned Lin Wanwan halfway and leaned over to kiss her, as if only a passionate kiss could calm the fright.
Lin Wanwan slightly tilted her head back, immersing herself in the intensity of the moment brought on by Xiao Chong.
