Chapter 2375: Visiting Xu Zhensheng
Chapter 2375: Chapter 2375: Visiting Xu Zhensheng
When I last visited, there were still people moving about in the village, but things are completely different this time, almost no one lingers outside their homes.
Upon seeing Shu Yu and the others, Steward Yu hurriedly came forward, “County magistrate, you’re finally here.”
Shu Yu walked towards the manor and unexpectedly found Wang Changdong here.
It seemed that he had been through a difficult time recently; his brows had furrowed, and he had lost quite a bit of weight.
Facing Shu Yu, he couldn’t help but give a bitter smile, “Righteous Dao Village has encountered such a big incident; the county magistrate is quite troubled. Luckily, a lord from the capital mentioned that there are people from their side taking over the situation here. Now there are still lords from the capital in the village. The county magistrate said I’m familiar with Righteous Dao Village, so he asked me to temporarily stay here for their convenience. County magistrate, would you like to meet the lords from the capital?”
Shu Yu pondered, “All right.”
Thus Wang Changdong took her to meet them, and it turned out to be the same lame man that Meng Yunzheng had seen last time.
Until the fight last time, the people in the village realized that he wasn’t injured at all; his legs were agile, not to mention his high martial arts skills.
He told Shu Yu that the chaos in Righteous Dao Village had been resolved, but the matters in Qi Lie’s area still weren’t settled, so he’s temporarily staying here to be cautious.
As for the Shu family and those captured rebels, they are already locked up in the county town’s prison.
After Shu Yu understood the current situation, she couldn’t wait to visit the Xu family.
The Xu family was all there, unaware that Shu Yu had come to Righteous Dao Village, until they heard talking from outside, and Xu Dali and Ms. Lin came out in surprise.
“County magistrate?”
Shu Yu entered, “I heard Zhensheng was injured. How is he?”
Ms. Lin, looking much thinner, responded, “The county magistrate must be worried, he’s fine now, though he suffered quite a bit.”
Having said that, she led everyone into the house.
Xu Zhensheng had an arrow shot through his wrist and a slash on his chest. Xu Dali said that at first, they almost couldn’t save him, but fortunately, Wei Qin was there.
Wei Qin was previously injured, and Zhao Xi had left some vital medicine, explaining their usage to her, including some life-saving herbs.
So when Xu Zhensheng was carried in, and Ms. Lin panicked not knowing what to do, Wei Qin hurriedly fed him the medicine, stopping the bleeding, and managed to save his life temporarily.
The doctor who came also used a lot of Zhao Xi’s medicine.
Now Xu Zhensheng is already able to sit up, though he seemed a bit drained.
Upon seeing Shu Yu, Xu Zhensheng seemed guilty, “Sister Lu.”
Shu Yu was irritable, “Didn’t I tell you last time to stay away from those matters? But you went ahead anyway.”
“I’m sorry, I won’t dare next time.”
Shu Yu didn’t quite believe him, but since he wasn’t her own child, she couldn’t do much, “Luckily, it ended safely; consider it a lesson learned.”
Xu Zhensheng chuckled and then asked, “Did my stab help you?”
Shu Yu laughed, “It was a tremendous help; you accomplished a great feat this time.” She looked up at the ceiling, “I think before long, your family will be moving away from here.”
“Really?” Xu Zhensheng was thrilled, glancing at his parents.
Xu Dali exhaled in relief, feeling as though a weight had been lifted. Ms. Lin was also happy, but thinking about the risks they took and how they almost lost their son’s life, she couldn’t help but feel a pang in her heart, her eyes slightly reddened.
After visiting Xu Zhensheng, Shu Yu advised him to rest well, then went to see Wei Qin.
