Chapter 555 - The Wen Family Encounters Trouble (1)

Chapter 555: The Wen Family Encounters Trouble (1)

In the next few days, the Wen family encountered a bit of trouble.

It wasn’t a massive issue, however, it was still rather bothersome.

Cai Qinyue hit someone whilst driving. The person that she hit ended up hospitalized.

Cai Qinyue was the one to blame for the accident. She wanted to settle the matter privately with the other party, however, the other party insisted on going to court.

After asking around, Cai Qinyue realized that the person she hit had considerable influence.

It wasn’t about the money. Rather, it was about not offending influential individuals in Beijing. The Wen family did not want to be involved with unnecessary problems.

And thus, if someone could act as a mediator to reconcile the matter, the problem would be solved easily.

However, it was quite difficult to find someone to do this.

It would be best to find someone that was influential in society. In fact, the status of the other individual had to be convincing as well.

As she thought about this, Cai Qinyue’s mind went to Liang Shuo. She saw Master Liang at Jian Yiling’s birthday party.

Master Liang would be most suitable for such a situation. He could definitely help them reconcile the matter easily.

And thus, Cai Qinyue suggested this to her husband. She wanted Wen Cheng to ask the Jian family.

However, Wen Cheng refused to do so. He felt that doing such a thing was rather embarrassing and unnecessary. “Let’s wait for a bit longer. Let me think of another way. If I can’t think of another solution, I will go ask my sister and brother-in-law for help.”

As her husband refused to help her, Cai Qinyue decided to ask Jian Yiling and Wen Nuan herself.

And thus, her daughter took the initiative to ask Jian Yiling to hang out.

Wen Ruo invited Jian Yiling to go out to a painting and calligraphy exhibition.

However, Jian Yiling stated that she was busy on that day. She politely declined the invitation.

Wen Ruo told her mother about Jian Yiling’s rejection of her invitation.

Upon hearing this, Cai Qinyue felt that her daughter approached the situation incorrectly: “Why are you inviting her to a painting and calligraphy exhibition? She doesn’t know anything about those things.”

Her daughter was proficient with the four arts. However, Jian Yiling knew nothing about the zither, Go, calligraphy, and paintings. They were not the same kind of person.

“Hmm, why don’t you invite her to go shopping? You can eat and watch a movie together as well,” Cai Qinyue suggested.

And thus, Cai Qinyue asked Wen Nuan to go shopping. She suggested bringing their daughters as well.

As Grandma Jian’s condition was becoming stable, Wen Nuan considered Cai Qinyue’s offer. She hadn’t gone shopping with her daughter in quite some time. Furthermore, they hadn’t explored Beijing together either.

And thus, Wen Nuan agreed to go.

Later at night, Wen Nuan mentioned this to Jian Yiling. She was incredibly careful with her words.

“If it’s not convenient for you, it’s okay as well. I’ll wait for next time.”

Jian Yiling looked at Wen Nuan’s moist eyes. In the end, she could not bear to say no.

And thus, early on the weekends, Jian Yiling went shopping with her mother, her aunt, and her cousin.

For girls her age, it was quite normal to go out with friends. Shopping was a very normal thing as well.

However, this experience was incredibly strange for Jian Yiling. She never went clothes shopping before.

Whilst they were shopping, Wen Nuan bought a lot of things for Jian Yiling.

Cai Qinyue kept praising Jian Yiling throughout the entire morning as well.

When they sat down to eat together, Cai Qinyue finally mentioned her intentions:

“Yiling, I’ve encountered a little trouble recently. Could you do me a favor?”

When Wen Nuan heard this, the soft smile on her face disappeared.

However, Cai Qinyue continued to speak: “It’s a very small thing. I remember that Master Liang came to celebrate your birthday. Could you ask him to mediate a situation? As long as he does so, the problem that I encountered will soon be solved.”

Upon hearing Cai Qinyue’s words, Wen Nuan said in a low voice: “Sister-in-law, I thought we were just shopping today.”

Cai Qinyue smiled awkwardly before she said: “Yes, we are. I did not mean anything else. I just mentioned it in passing. It’s because we’re relatives. That’s why I mentioned it to Yiling. You don’t want to see your relatives get into trouble, do you?”
