From Sidekick to Bigshot

At this moment Cheng Yi and a few other staff members in white coats walked into Jian Yunnao’s hospital room.

“Mr. Yunao, we’re here today to take you through the final few tests,” Cheng Yi said. His expression was quite serious. It appeared as though he was doing things in a strictly business-like manner.

As soon as Jian Yunnao saw Cheng Yi, he felt a bit uneasy.

He still remembered the time when Cheng Yi gave him a shot in his buttocks. That was psychological trauma for him.

Two of the staff members in white coats came forward and placed a blindfold on Jian Yunnao’s eyes.

“Why do I need to wear a blindfold?” Jian Yunnao asked. Although he couldn’t rebel against them, his mind was full of doubts.

“This is because we’re going to do a medical examination. In a bit, the room will have a special light. The light is not good for your eyes. As a result, the blindfold is there to protect your eyes.”

Cheng Yi’s tone was serious and convincing.

Thus, the only thing that Jian Yunnao could do was to believe him.

Following this, Jian Yunnao’s hospital bed got pushed out of the room. As he wore a blindfold, he had no idea about where he was being pushed to.

Jian Yunnao got pushed to a room full of medical equipment and apparatus. He waited there for a while.

Then, he heard several footsteps come in his direction.

However, the thing that Jian Yunnao didn’t know was that out of the people who had just come into the room, one of them was Jian Yiling.

That was the reason why Jian Yunnao had a blindfold on right now. It wasn’t because he was undergoing some special medical examination.

The reason behind such actions was because Cheng Yi and the others didn’t want Jian Yunnao to know the person doing the operation for him was Jian Yiling.

Jian Yiling began to examine Jian Yunnao.

Never in a thousand years would Jian Yunnao guess that the person that was examining him right now was his own sister.

Other than Jian Yunnao, the room was full of people from the institution. As a result, everyone was well coordinated. No one revealed any information to Jian Yunnao.

The darkness made Jian Yunnao incredibly restless. He didn’t know what sort of medical examination he was undergoing. However, he didn’t dare to move at all.

Furthermore, his surroundings were incredibly silent.

“How long will this take?” Jian Yunnao asked in a quiet voice.

Cheng Yi gave him a professional reply, “Jian Yunnao, please do not worry. Your doctor-in-charge, Dr. F.S, is currently giving you your checkup. It’s related to your surgery tomorrow. Thereby, we have to be very careful with this checkup. Please be patient with us Mr. Yunnao.”

Upon hearing this, Jian Yunnao’s mood changed quite a bit.

“Dr. F.S? Are you really here?” Jian Yunnao asked immediately.

His voice faltered as he said those words. He couldn’t hide the excitement in them.

As of now, he still hadn’t seen the face of his doctor in charge.

His heart was full of anticipation. He wanted to see the person in charge of his operation.

He was looking forward to meeting him.

Jian Yiling paused for a moment. She stopped what she was doing and looked up at Cheng Yi to ask for help

It wasn’t convenient for her to speak.

Instead, Cheng Yi replied for Jian Yiling, “Of course.”

Then, Cheng Yi winked at Jian Yiling. He was telling her that she didn’t need to worry about such trivial matters. She could just leave such matters to him and concentrate on the work at hand.

“Then…” Jian Yunnao stuttered. He was quite nervous for some reason. He wanted to hear the voice of Dr. F.S. However, he didn’t know how to ask for such a thing.

Cheng Yi smiled before he said, “Mr. Yunnao, do you have something you want to say to Dr. F.S?”

“Yep,” Jian Yunnao replied. He steadied himself before continuing, “Dr. F.S, I’d…. I’d like to thank you for accepting my operation. I’d like to thank you for giving me a chance to play the piano again. And mostly, I’d like to thank you for giving me the courage to face my future.”

Jian Yunnao didn’t know Dr. F.S’s full name. Everyone in the institution had called the person in charge of his operation Dr. F.S. As a result, he had no option but to use that name.
