Chapter 593: Chapter 287: A Day’s Plan Is Made in the Morning (2)

Lin Shen watched, his mind starting to drift.

He suddenly recalled a popular meme he’d seen online recently: when a girlfriend ties up her hair, her boyfriend will usually find himself unable to look away.

Because that’s when she’s at her most alluring.

At first, Lin Shen hadn’t quite understood why that was so attractive to men. But now, experiencing it firsthand, he finally got it.

’So this is what it’s like!’

Only after she had finished tying up her hair did Qin Yuenan notice Lin Shen staring at her intently. She shot him a bashful glare and chided him.

"What are you staring at me for? Turn around! Don’t look at me!"

"Because you’re so beautiful."

Lin Shen laughed and pulled Qin Yuenan tightly into his arms.

"My baby is beautiful. Can’t I even look?"

"I’m not your baby! Don’t say such things!"

Though Qin Yuenan complained about his overly affectionate nickname, inwardly, her heart was already blooming with joy.

At twenty-eight, she was finally experiencing the kind of sweetness that comes with young love.

’It’s a little late, but it feels pretty good!’

So, Qin Yuenan indulged Lin Shen’s heightened arousal, helping him deal with the trouble she had just stirred up before getting up to freshen up.

The two of them, one tall and one short, stood together before the mirror, brushing their teeth. It gave them the blissful feeling of already living together.

Of course, that wasn’t entirely untrue.

Qin Yuenan could choose to live with Lin Shen at any time. Doing so could even prevent him from bringing other girls home. It was practically killing two birds with one stone!

But she chose not to.

Qin Yuenan had her reasons.

First, cohabitation meant a loss of personal space, which would inevitably lead to conflict.

Everyone has a different way of living, and when that routine is disrupted, it’s easy to become irritable.

That was something Qin Yuenan wanted to avoid.

Although she and Lin Shen had argued once about marriage, that was also the day they had a real heart-to-heart, honestly sharing their true feelings.

But the truth was, Qin Yuenan hated arguing with Lin Shen.

When you’re young, it’s not so bad. Even if you fight, you don’t have to worry too much; you’ll probably make up.

But when adults fight, there’s no time to wait around for a reconciliation!

Who knew? A few months later, he could be with someone else, or even engaged or married.

Being in your late twenties meant you were at an age where a breakup often meant the next relationship could very well lead to marriage.

That’s why Qin Yuenan did her best to avoid any conflict with Lin Shen.

Even if they did argue, she made sure they resolved it before bed, to avoid going to sleep angry and letting it spoil the next day.

Luckily, as Qin Yuenan thought about it, she and Lin Shen hadn’t really had any major conflicts.

There was constant minor friction, of course—Lin Shen’s player ways, for example.

This was the second reason why Qin Yuenan chose not to live with Lin Shen.

Because if they lived together for a while, she would inevitably stumble upon his chat logs with other girls.

She didn’t want to see evidence of those flirtatious relationships.

Out of sight, out of mind. That was the policy she was sticking to now.

Although it felt a bit like burying her head in the sand, Qin Yuenan was indeed willfully ignoring Lin Shen’s player tendencies.

’After all, he’s so good to me. There’s no need to get hung up on these things.’

’Didn’t I know what I was getting into when we first got together?’

’Since I’m the one who chose this, I should be the one to figure out how to handle it.’

This was the same approach Qin Yuenan had always taken with her work, and now she was applying it to her love life.

’Was it just a case of "better to avoid the trouble you can’t handle"?’

Of course, there was a third and most important reason for not moving in with Lin Shen: she couldn’t quite keep up with him.

As much as Qin Yuenan hated to admit it, she simply couldn’t match his stamina in bed.

Even on occasions where she didn’t have to do a thing, she was powerless to resist his relentless, tidal-wave-like advances.

It was intensely pleasurable, but too much of a good thing left her with a lingering physical and mental exhaustion.

And that would affect her work the next day.

As a complete "workaholic," Qin Yuenan couldn’t let these things affect her.

’After all, Shennan isn’t fully established yet.’

She needed to help Lin Shen achieve their shared dream, not get lost in some sweet, romantic fairy tale.

So, even while eating breakfast, Qin Yuenan was still focused on work, munching on a steamed bun as she typed on her laptop.

Seeing her work so diligently made Lin Shen feel awkward.

’Aren’t I supposed to be the founder of Shennan?’

’How come I have nothing to do, while Nan is this busy?’

So Lin Shen leaned over, curious to see what she was working on.

The screen was filled with all sorts of reports, meeting agendas, and lists of clients to see.

The contents were so complex they made Lin Shen’s head spin.

Qin Yuenan noticed, shot him a sideways glance, and then blocked his view.

"Go finish your breakfast. I can handle this."

"I appreciate all your hard work, Nan."

Honestly, seeing Qin Yuenan so dedicated to Shennan moved Lin Shen deeply. He wrapped his arms around her slender waist and said with heartfelt emotion,

"Thank you."

"I’m just doing my part."

"So you’ve never resented me for not helping?"

Lin Shen laughed self-deprecatingly and rubbed the bridge of his nose.

"I feel like an absentee boss, doing nothing."

"You’ve already done more than enough."

Qin Yuenan completely disagreed with him. She closed her laptop, looked him straight in the eye, and said earnestly,
