Chapter 431 - Aida·Wong
Chapter 431: Aida·Wong
The game time was 11:20 AM, in a luxurious hotel around two kilometers from the Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group’s secret base.
“Brother, any discovery?”
“No, once I was there, I only saw a bullet shell left on the ground, don’t know where the person had gone!”
“Damn it, we’ve let this brat escaped again!”
A group of Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group players were cursing.
“It’s almost time!”
In the President’s suite two floors below this level, Feng Luo with the Environmental Simulation skill engaged stood silently behind the door, changing into disguise equipment with the Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group insignia.
“We should be going back to gather!”
He had said before to return by 11:30, it was now almost time.
“Something’s really up…I didn’t think that y’all Adventurers who haven’t been through professional Agent training could actually wreck so many people, and be able to advance and retreat at will with up to a thousand people on the hunt.”
Just as Feng Luo had changed his equipment and his appearance, a voice suddenly sounded from behind him without a warning, surprising him.
He turned back with a stone face and realized that there was a woman standing at the entrance of the washroom.
A black-eyed woman wearing a dark red fur coat, with a Christian cross necklace and a black scarf tightly tied on her snow-white neck. She had short black hair neatly on both sides of her face down to her chin, and eyebrows as thin as a sword.
In her hand was a lit cigarette without any heat or stench coming from it but a light orchid fragrance.
This was an Asian woman with elegance, power, sexiness, and seductiveness all in one.
Among the players and NPCs whom Feng Luo had met, few could match up with this woman in terms of temperament; Haruko making tea in a kimono, dark Phoenix who had awakened “Second Personality,” and Sister Rui in a combat uniform shooting madly with a machine gun raised in hand.
What made Feng Luo even more surprised was that this woman was actually a player. At first glad, he was unable to tell if she was a player, or to an NPC, an Adventurer.
Although NPCs in War possessed high AI and were more intelligent than players in action and intellect, in non-limited missions, the difference between players and NPCs could be told apart at a glance close-up.
There were not any NPC characteristics on this woman, and the vibe she gave off was completely that of a typical player. However, from the words “y’all Adventurers,” one could be even more sure of correctly determining her identity.
“Are you an Agent joining this mission from the Intelligence Agency or the Safety Bureau?”
Feng Luo had thought clearly about the situation as he spoke to the woman, staring at her.
Since players could act as NPCs in the game, NPCs would naturally be able to act as players too.
What made him feel a little strange was how seeing this woman at first glance had given him a feeling of familiarity.
“The CIA, you may address me as codename Wong.” The red fur-coated woman leaned against the bathroom door, lightly flicking the cigarette in her hand.
“Wong?” Hearing this domineering codename, Feng Luo instantly felt a sense of weakness in himself. In comparison, his own “Azure Dragon” compared with this Agent codename was practically reduced to pulp.
“Wait, Wong…Aida Wong?” Feng Luo’s heart lurched as he spoke.
“Hm? You’ve actually done your homework…mm, I understand, it’s Sakura who has provided you all with the information…” The red fur-coated woman still stood leaning against the bathroom door, her expression calm without a tinge of shock as she did not deny.
“Aida Wong, so it’s true, no wonder I felt like you’re familiar… Since the Biohazard Crisis plot, the Umbrella Company, Wesker, and Sulli have all appeared, Aida Wong isn’t very surprising now…” Although this was what he was thinking, Feng Luo could not help but look up to observe Wong once again.
Aida Wong was a female character with a very mysterious background in the Biohazard Crisis game series, suspected to possess dual identities as special agent and spy, with powerful abilities. She was also extremely popular among players for her red-clothed, cold demeanor, and controversial temperament.
Clearly, the Aida Wong in War and that in the Biohazard Crisis game had some differences in identity and name origin, though were similar in temperament and appearance.
They were both women with the dark red of a rose and poppy combined, enough to increase hormone secretions in male players.
“I suppose you didn’t actively reveal yourself just to chat with me?” Feng Luo was definitely not a person whose judgement would be affected by a physical body, knowing that the Wong in front of his eyes was actually Aida, the sense of guard in his eyes had rather become more intense.
While he physically did not continue moving, his entire self was maintaining a stance capable of immediate counterattack.
Having pre-knowledge of the Biohazard Crisis plot, he knew the personality and dual identities of Aida Wong expressed in the Biohazard Crisis game series. Feng Luo could not guarantee that this woman would not do something to kill off competitors straight away.
“Mm, indeed it’s not so meaningless, I’ve come to you mainly to engage in cooperation with you all.” Aida Wong did not take the guard in Feng Luo’s eyes seriously, instead remained leaning against the bathroom door. She did not smoke the lit cigarette in her hand, and so the fragrance was fleeting.
Her words were absolutely beyond Feng Luo’s expectations.
“Cooperation? With us, why? Isn’t it a competitive mission this time?” Feng Luo spouted out.
Aida Wong’s words had really taken him by surprise, so much that he had lost himself for a bit.
“Yeah, indeed it is a competitive mission. But the prerequisite is that we must first safely rescue the target. Then, which department the person belongs to would have to be determined by the competitive. Of course, if I hadn’t felt like the initial plan would possibly be a little troublesome after seeing you, my choice should be staying aside and waiting until you rescue the person before I’d snatch it away…” Aida’s tone was very relaxed, as if she saw snatching the mission target from the hands of Feng Luo the five of them was a very effortless matter, provided that she had not seen Feng Luo.
Feng Luo had roughly guessed that she had said that as he was already different from average players in her eyes after he had awakened his Force. As a result, it had made her change her initial plan. If not, she had originally wanted to take Sulli away straight after Feng Luo and his group had rescued her.
With her ability, if she had snatched the target while Feng Luo and the others were being hunted by the Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group after rescuing the target, it was very likely that Feng Luo and the others would have no way of salvaging the situation at all.
But from what Wong said, Feng Luo had realized that he had previously wrongly assumed something from her appearance.
This competitive mission was completely different from the last time on Death Hunter Island; although they were similarly a competition among the three departments, this one had a prerequisite of rescuing the target. When there was an advantage in rescuing the target, there would definitely be no use of hindrances among everyone, and there would even be provision of secretive aid.
This seemed like another aspect that could be taken advantage of…
