Every Sentinel I Dreamed of Came Looking for Me

Chapter 241: Some Openly Flaunt Their Affection, Others Secretly Die of Jealousy

Chapter 241: Chapter 241: Some Openly Flaunt Their Affection, Others Secretly Die of Jealousy

Si Jin lowered his head and gently cupped Yun Sheng’s face, making her meet his gaze.

His gaze was gentle and certain. "Yun Sheng, you are not a burden. You never have been! If it weren’t for you, I might have already become a monster that had completely lost its mind. And Bai Ye... without your guidance, would he be able to be the War God he is today?"

When Bai Ye left here, the state of his spiritual landscape was hardly any better than mine had been.

Si Jin didn’t even have to guess. He knew that Yun Sheng must have guided him in his dreams, or perhaps done something else...

Otherwise, Yun Sheng wouldn’t have been so intent on avoiding him when she saw him this time.

He didn’t press the issue, but that was only because he didn’t want to make things difficult for her. It didn’t mean he was completely in the dark.

Yun Sheng’s eyes grew redder. Her lips moved as if she wanted to say something, but she swallowed her words.

Si Jin looked at her, his thumb gently brushing her cheek to wipe away a tear that had yet to fall. His voice softened even more.

"You are far more important than you think. Don’t always feel like you’re not good enough. Besides, you’re clearly much stronger than you were at the beginning, aren’t you?

Yun Sheng, you just need time to grow. Don’t put so much pressure on yourself. No matter what, I will always be by your side."

Yun Sheng sniffled and buried her face in Si Jin’s chest again, letting out a muffled "mhm."

Si Jin said no more, simply holding her quietly, his hand gently stroking her back again and again.

Leaning in his embrace, Yun Sheng listened to his steady, powerful heartbeat, and the frustration bottled up inside her slowly began to dissipate.

In truth, she was just upset by what Su Yuanzhou had said. That, combined with days of exhaustion and pressure, had caused this sudden wave of helplessness.

It wasn’t that she truly thought she was useless, but that her heart felt heavy and she needed an outlet.

After holding her for a while, Si Jin looked down at the person in his arms. His voice was low and tinged with gentleness. "Feeling better?"

Yun Sheng lifted her head to meet his gentle eyes and nodded lightly.

She didn’t speak. Instead, she reached up to his shoulders, stood on her tiptoes, and took the initiative to press a light peck on the corner of his lips.

It was a light, soft touch, like a feather brushing the surface of the water, there and gone in an instant.

Si Jin’s eyes darkened. His hand moved to grasp Yun Sheng’s waist, pulling her into his embrace as he lowered his head to kiss her back.

His lips were scalding hot against hers, grinding against them with just the right amount of pressure, carrying a restraint that had been suppressed for far too long.

He didn’t deepen the kiss, just stayed there, pressing against her, pecking her lips with the utmost tenderness.

Yun Sheng’s breathing grew slightly ragged. Her fingers clenched the fabric on his shoulders, her entire body going soft in his arms.

Si Jin’s hand slid from her waist to her back, pressing her even tighter against him as the kiss gradually deepened.

Yun Sheng closed her eyes, her lashes trembling slightly. She didn’t pull away. Instead, she tilted her head back slightly and returned his kiss.

Si Jin’s breath hitched for a moment. He kissed her more deeply, as if trying to merge her into his very bones.

Outside the cubicle, Bai Ye leaned against the bulkhead, his gaze fixed on the closed door. His fingers tapped lightly on the hilt of his blade, again and again, as if counting down to something.

Xing Che stood opposite him, hands in his pockets, idly surveying the cabin’s interior with a bored expression.

Neither of them spoke. A subtle, tense atmosphere filled the air.

Bai Ye’s gaze flickered toward the door from time to time, an indescribable frustration welling up inside him.

He didn’t know what Su Yuanzhou had said to Yun Sheng, but Su Yuanzhou had been out for a while now. Yet Yun Sheng remained inside, and had even called Si Jin in...

He hadn’t seen Yun Sheng since that night in the dream. Now that he finally had, she was constantly trying to avoid him, to the point that they still hadn’t had a chance to speak alone.

He was desperate to know what was on her mind, but...

After a short while, the cubicle door opened.

Yun Sheng and Si Jin walked out, hand in hand, their fingers intertwined.

A faint blush graced Yun Sheng’s cheeks, and her lips were a vivid, swollen red. It was obvious what had just happened inside the cubicle.

Si Jin, however, looked as composed as ever, though the corners of his lips were slightly curved and his eyes held a look of sated tenderness.

Xing Che’s gaze fell on Yun Sheng’s lips. He froze for a second, a flash of jealousy in his eyes, but he quickly returned to normal.

He had known for a while that Yun Sheng had a Sentinel, and he knew of Si Jin’s existence. So while seeing this made him feel a bit sour, he could more or less accept it.

’He was already working hard to pursue her, after all. He just needed to try a little harder.’

He shoved his hands back into his pockets and leaned lazily against the bulkhead, his face once again wearing that half-smiling, half-serious expression, as if his momentary stiffness had never happened.

Bai Ye’s gaze also landed on Yun Sheng’s bright red lips, and his own thin lips pressed into a tight line.

A shadow of gloom flickered in his eyes, like a dark undercurrent churning in deep water, only to be forcefully suppressed before it could surface.

’What right did he have to care?’

’Yun Sheng had never been his.’

’That dream was nothing more than an act of charity born from her soft heart.’

At that thought, Bai Ye took a deep breath. His face returned to its usual cold and stern expression, betraying no emotion.

But his fingers, gripping the hilt of his blade, remained clenched so tightly it seemed he might shatter it.

Just then, Su Yuanzhou, who had been waiting, stood up from a nearby armchair by the window. His gaze was calm as he looked at Yun Sheng.

"Have you made your decision?"

Yun Sheng squeezed Si Jin’s hand and met his gaze. "Yes, I’ve made my decision. I’m not leaving. I’m staying to help rescue the remaining missing students."

Su Yuanzhou’s brow furrowed. He was about to speak, but Yun Sheng continued.

"I know my abilities aren’t up to par right now, but if I run away every time there’s a problem, I’ll have even fewer opportunities to grow. Besides, if I really am their primary target, they’ll just try again if they fail this time. I can’t hide forever, so I might as well face them now and capture them."

At this, she paused, glanced at Si Jin, and leaned closer to him.

"As for you saying I’m not capable enough and will become a burden... this is my Sentinel, Lin Mo. He will protect me."

The moment her words fell, Si Jin released his spiritual power.

A vast pressure, almost physical in its intensity, spread outwards. The air in the cabin suddenly grew heavy, and even the lights seemed to dim for an instant.

Su Yuanzhou’s pupils contracted sharply, his face showing undisguised shock.

Yun Sheng actually had a Sentinel already, and the spiritual power that Sentinel had just released was clearly beyond S-Class.

As he stood there stunned, Xing Che stepped forward as well.

He ambled over to Yun Sheng’s other side, turned his head, and looked at her with a burning gaze.

"Shengsheng, you have me too! I’m your suitor, you know. I’ll protect you no matter the cost!"
