Chapter 3948: Nine Sun Robe: Fourth Sun
Chapter 3948: Nine Sun Robe: Fourth Sun
Had Blazelight’s attack not been mostly fire, Alex would’ve been in serious trouble. The only reason he had survived was because of his Nine Sun Robe’s Second Sun: Flame Immunity.
Right before the attack had landed, he had quickly called the robe out of his Soul Space, which had formed around him in a split second, protecting him from most of the flames. The attack itself had been strong enough to wound him gravely, but he had regenerated faster than anyone else had realized.
The situation was scary, and the only reason he had been so calm was to give the audience the illusion of him being under full control at the same time. No one else was coming to save him at all, so he had to make such a decision.
Such a thought gave Alex a sense of anger that he couldn’t keep contained.
He looked at Blazelight, who barely even tilted her head when giving her apology. Not only was she not sincere about it, the whole thing was a farce.
Alex let out a snort.
"Accept your apology?" Alex asked. "I am just an Immortal. You are a Divinity. Had that attack killed me, would your apology have brought me back to life?"
Blazelight opened her mouth for a moment before closing it. "I can say nothing but only beg for your forgiveness."
"Then keep begging."
Alex turned toward the Sky God.
"If there is a punishment for what she’s done here, I want her to be punished to the full scope of that punishment. If not, I want her out of here right now."
The Sky God simply nodded. "Blazelight, return to your seat. We will deal with you once the duel is over."
Blazelight bit her lower lip for a second before flying away without looking back. She arrived among her group and quickly sat down, crouching a little as though that would hide her.
Alex kept looking through the crowd, attempting to gauge the crowd’s reaction to the current events. Had him producing the Nine Sun Robe done anything at all? Given that it was an artifact created from the Sun Crow’s feather, it should have some subliminal effect on them, making them associate him more with the crow, which itself was associated with the Sun.
No one made the connection consciously, but at a subliminal level, they could not stop themselves from thinking as much.
And that was exactly what Alex needed.
His eyes moved through the crowd for a bit before momentarily landing on Truthseer, the Mind God. Not everyone who he had looked at had returned a glance. If they had, it hadn’t been intense at all. But with the Mind God, there was something else.
Was it because the man knew about the World Tree? There was no chance the man was worried about him.
Before Alex could move his gaze away, the man mouthed some words to him.
"Thank you."
Before Alex could even understand why the man would ever thank him, the Mind God stood from his seat and walked away.
"Ashmaker, it is your turn," the Sky God spoke to the Fire God, pulling Alex’s attention quickly back to the duel.
The Fire God looked toward Alex, holding a look that made clear to Alex that the man meant business. He had allowed two people to go instead of him, expecting full well for them to succeed, but both of their actions had failed.
The people’s opinion of him as a god of Fire was beginning to change, and he could tell just by the looks in their eyes.
When the duel had started, no one had a single hint of expectation that Alex could win. And now, many had grown interested.
That was bad.
Now, he had to directly act.
"You said your robe was made from the feathers of the Three-Legged Crow, didn’t you?" the man asked.
"Yes, it was made from the feathers of the Sun Crow," Alex replied.
The Fire God nearly let out an audible chuckle, hearing Alex try and put the word ’sun’ in their conversation.
"What can it do? Besides make you immune to flames," the man asked.
Alex wasn’t surprised that the man had seen through what had happened earlier. In fact, he would’ve been surprised if he hadn’t seen it.
"Is that what you wish to challenge me on next, senior Ashmaker?" Alex asked. "My artifacts?"
The man shrugged. "Why not? If you claim to be who you are, you must have artifacts to show it too. You’ve shown one for us all to see, and it is incredible. So what exactly can it do? And do you have more?"
Alex took a moment to consider everything before nodding. "My robe can do more."
He looked to the side and gestured for the robe to move. Suddenly, the Nine Sun Robe turned into ten thousand illusory lights, floating out of his body and onto his palm, like embers coalescing back into a flame.
Then, with another thought, the robe returned to his body, surrounding him once again.
"Is that all?" Ashmaker asked.
Alex smiled. "I’ve barely scratched the surface."
The next thing his robe could do was conceal himself from Heaven, but that was hardly something he could reveal here. So, he moved on to the next one.
"What you saw is what I can do with only Immortal Qi. With Divine Qi, I can do more."
Suddenly, Alex’s robe began glowing brighter than it was before. It was a bright yellow color to begin with, but it started glowing and emitting light. And before anyone knew it, the edges of his robe suddenly transformed into tongues of flames that moved like the robe but acted like flames.
And the flames were all yellow as well, just like what he had shown.
Nine Sun Robe - Fourth Sun: Sunfire Mantle
"The robe creates Sunfire of its own, which destroys most weaker attacks before they land on me," Alex said, before looking up toward the Fire God.
"So, how do I look?"
