Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 3853: Setting Reality

Chapter 3853: Setting Reality

After a bunch of testing, Alex put down the shield.

"It works about as well as you thought it did, senior," he said. "Although, I’m now realizing that maybe we should have blood-refined the shield."

"It’s better if you don’t," the Artifact God said without looking toward him. "The blood refinement helps in forming a direct bond with the artifact and gives it a higher chance of forming a spirit. But you don’t need that with this. You don’t need to refine it in the first place, though you can if you want to. And given the materials used, it’s bound to form a spirit anyhow."

"What about tribulation, though?" Alex asked. "Does blood refining improve that by any chance?"

"You don’t understand just how rare this is, do you?" she asked. "Trillions of people have lived throughout the many realms in the past hundreds of thousands of years, and you can count on your hands the number of artifacts that have brought down Artifact Tribulation. The chance of it happening is zero. Even if you manage to increase it, it would still be practically 0. In a sense, the Artifact Tribulation really only happens by accident. A very, very, very rare accident."

Alex nodded slowly. "I will keep that in mind," he said. "What now?"

"Now, you do what you said you were going to do," she said. "Undo the aura."

Alex understood and quickly nodded. He brought the shield into his Soul Space. This time, he felt a very subtle sense of burden on his Soul Space that wasn’t previously there. It was as if the act of turning the scale into a shield had changed the object so intrinsically that it now had the most nascent of spirits hiding inside of it.

And given how strong the artifact itself was, even as a newborn spirit, it was strong enough for Alex to register it.

That was indeed quite great news.

Alex placed the shield down on the ground and called for Ray again. The beast arrived close by, and this time Alex asked him to use the second bracer to pour Qi into the shield.

He did.

As Alex watched the reversal of the aura inside the shield, he couldn’t help but finally take in the truth of the situation that he had somehow managed to ignore all this time.

He and the Artifact God had done the impossible. For over 250 thousand years, no one had managed to form any sort of artifact with the body of a Primordial.

After all this time, they had.

The scale of the Primordial Flood Dragon now lay before him, completely unrecognizable from what it was before, having now been converted into something that was much better as well. This was something the two of them had done.

They had made a Primordial artifact.

Alex didn’t want to show his excitement for it, but he couldn’t hide it at all. He looked toward the Artifact God, who was sitting on the floor, resting for the time being.

"We did it, senior," he said slowly. "We successfully made an artifact from the body part of a Primordial."

The Artifact God smiled slowly. Unlike Alex, she had been constantly aware of that truth and had been trying her best to hide her excitement. Hearing that from Alex made her giggle slightly.

"We did it, didn’t we?" she asked, giggling even louder afterward. "People will be shocked when they find out."

"If they find out, you mean," Alex said. "Are you going to tell this to everyone?"

The Artifact God paused for a second. "Not everyone, but some must know. If nothing else, I need to prove to the others that I can do this. That I’m my master’s disciple and can use the material of a Primordial beast to make artifacts too."

Alex frowned. "But that would bring more questions than we want. Are you really planning to tell them?" he asked. "If so, could you perhaps not tell anyone else about the shield belonging to me?"

The Artifact God turned to him and thought for a moment before taking a deep breath and nodding. "When I break this news to the world, I will do so with tact and keep your privacy."

"No, I don’t mind others finding out, senior. I just don’t want them to find out that it was this shield," Alex said.

His plan from the start had been to hand over the shield to someone in his family. Probably his mother, or most likely his sister. As such, publicizing the status of the shield would cause an issue for anyone holding it. That would be very bad.

The Artifact God was patient with him. "Well, tell me how I should handle this, then. I need to tell others what I’ve done, and for that I need to show them my creation."

Alex looked at the Artifact God, who paused herself, having realized something else.

"Right..." she said slowly. "It doesn’t have to be the shield. I can prove it by showing something else."

Alex nodded. "My robe," he said. "Would you want to work on it immediately, by any chance?"

The Artifact God shrugged. "Sure, why not? Give me all the feathers you can."

"Why don’t you come in, senior? You can see what you can use. Perhaps you will be inspired to do much more in the end," Alex said.

The Artifact God looked up at him, one eyebrow raised. "That is not a bad idea. Take me in."

Instantly, Alex took the Artifact God into his Soul Space, wherein she arrived near where Ray was working. He had been using the artifact to Rebuild the shield.

"Oh, he’s done more than I thought he would."

"Time moves differently here, senior," Alex said. "Anyway, here you go. I’ve brought it behind you."

The Artifact God felt a subtle sense of heat coming from behind her and slowly turned. As she did, she saw a flash of yellow, followed by the shape of the yellow thing.

Her breath caught in her throat at that point, as even without any explanation, she could tell what she was looking at.

This was the corpse of the Three-Legged Crow. A Primordial.
