Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 3729: A Different Pill

Chapter 3729: A Different Pill

The Dao of Softness was much different from any of the other Daos within the umbrella of the Dao of Water. It did represent the softness that was water, but it also strayed much further away from the regular Water Daos.

If the Water Daos were to be represented by a tree, the Dao of Water would be practically at the trunk, with other similar Daos such as the Dao of Liquid, Dao of Mist, and Dao of Rain surrounding it. The Ice and Snow-related Daos would be further away, but still relatively close to the center.

The Dao of Softness, however, would be closer to the edge. It was still part of the same tree, but it wasn’t similar to anything else Alex had learned before this.

So, if he wanted to learn it fully, it was going to take quite a bit of focus.

Alex looked into his Soul Space to pull out another Grand Tranquility Pill, but he realized that he only had 2 more of those remaining. He could make use of one, or just use one of the Blank Canvas Pills to turn into a Grand Tranquility Pill, but both of those felt like a waste of perfectly good pills.

He didn’t have to learn this Dao, so he found it unnecessary to eat those pills. Still, with only 2 weeks remaining, he desperately needed some form of help if he wanted to learn the Dao or come close to learning it.

After considering his options, Alex decided that the best solution to his issue would be to create a pill that could do just what he wanted. He didn’t need the pill to do too much at all. All it had to do was increase his ability to focus without getting derailed by needless thoughts.

So, Alex proceeded to spend the next half a day going through the ingredients that were available to him and making a list of what he could use. After going through it all, he slowly worked with all the ingredients in his mind, understanding how they would perform when put to work together.

He forced himself to be faster as there was not much time to waste, and as such, he arrived at the recipe within the next half a day.

A full day after arriving in this room, Alex now had a recipe ready for him to use without feeling bad about wasting ingredients.

Memory flew out of his Soul Space the moment he was done, and he began placing the ingredients into it according to his own understanding of the recipe. His actions caught the attention of the two people who were focused on trying to understand the Dao, and they gave him strange looks.

After all, who came into a room to learn a Dao and instead wasted their time making pills? They could only shake their heads at Alex before returning to understanding the Dao.

A few minutes later, their eyes shot wide open again as they felt the distant thunder of the rumbling sky and noticed that the region above them had completely gone black.

Bright bolts of pill lightning struck down from the sky, causing the two people to stare at Alex with slack jaws. They immediately understood what it was that they were witnessing.

Right before them, Alex was making a pill with pill veins.

"Prime Alchemist," one of them murmured softly.

The other one had no words to say.

They could hardly focus on the aura anymore as the pill lightning took over all of their attention. Some time later, all 9 lightning bolts struck down, at the end of which it was all over.

Alex brought out the pill from the cauldron and looked at it. The other two barely caught a glimpse of the pill and its green and orange color before Alex threw it into his mouth and ate it.

The cauldron vanished a second later, and Alex closed his eyes as he began going through the aura.

The two people were left speechless, unable to put their attention back on the aura. The sheer audacity of Alex to make a 9-veined pill and not even break a smile when looking at it made them wonder if they were even truly awake.

How could such a person even exist?

It was some time before the two could pull their attention away from Alex and place it back onto the aura before them.

Alex felt the effects of the pill a few minutes after he ate it. His mind felt as if it had grown clearer and faster, all stray thoughts vanishing, allowing him to focus on just one topic as he had wanted.

It wasn’t as good as the Grand Tranquility Pill, but that was to be expected given the ingredients he had used. If he had more time, he could’ve likely improved the recipe even more to add new ingredients that would make it stronger, but with just a day, he had come up with the best recipe he could.

The pill’s effects surprisingly lasted much longer than just a week. It was close to a week and a half before Alex felt his mind growing somewhat duller. During this time, he had been so focused on learning the aura that he had even forgotten to cultivate. He could’ve tried to add some energy into his Origins, but he had completely lost himself in his attempt at trying to understand the aura.

Thankfully, the week and a half had been rather productive, with the pill allowing him to learn a lot from the aura that was created primarily to allow them to learn it. Finding the aura on its own would be rather difficult, at least in this strong a state, so Alex could only consider himself lucky to have the opportunity to come here.

The next few days felt like a drag without the pill’s effects, and while Alex considered making another one soon, the month came to an end.
