Chapter 3713: Xianhai and Yifei
Chapter 3713: Xianhai and Yifei
Alex chose not to enter the trial this time around either, thinking of letting just Ronron and the rest take part instead of him. However, there seemed to be no way for him to stay out of it here, as his star was registered just like the rest of theirs.
In the end, he could only let out a sigh and wait to go in with all of them.
Staying outside, they heard enough talk between the people gathered there to know what this trial was about.
From what he came to understand, the people inside were under a suppressive aura, and their task was to last as long as they could without giving up. The longer they stayed inside, the more stars they would get.
To their surprise, they came to learn that some of the people inside had been staying there for nearly a week now, and it was likely that they would stay in for another day or two at least. The later tests just took that long in general this time around.
Alex sat around leisurely, waiting for the test to open up. Even if he wanted to go to another one, he couldn’t, since his star had already registered. So waiting was all they could do.
Half a day later, as night came around, Alex noticed a person arrive with their powerful aura present for everyone to sense. Everyone looked toward the man, and Alex even recognized him.
"That’s the guy who helped us with the female Divinity, wasn’t he?" Liz asked. "From the Fang family, if I remember correctly."
Ronron nodded. "He’s Fang Xianhai. Judging from his cultivation base, he must be incredibly strong."
"That’s putting it lightly," Alex said, looking at the man. "He might actually be the participant with the highest cultivation base inside the Red Heaven Realm right now."
"Really?" Helen asked. "What is his cultivation base?"
"Immortal Spirit 9th realm," Alex said. "He’s just a step away from becoming a Divinity."
Fang Xianhai looked around at the people nearby and found a secluded place to sit and wait. He was all alone, and no one dared to disturb him either.
That was until a little past midnight, when another powerful aura made its way to the area.
A young woman flew in, a beauty in every sense of the word, wearing ashen gray robes with stark blue lining. Her appearance brought out murmurs all throughout the crowd, which overshadowed her cultivation base itself, which was quite high as well.
She was close to Fang Xianhai in cultivation base, at Immortal Spirit 8th realm. At that point, it mattered very little whose cultivation base was higher, since the real battle happened with Divine Qi, and everyone had the same strength there.
Fang Xianhai likely had more Divine Qi, but that mattered very little if things didn’t go his way.
As the woman came down, her eyes moved toward Fang Xianhai, and she turned fully to face him.
"You’re here too, Xianhai," the woman said. "Don’t tell me you’re stalking me."
The young man turned toward the woman, a beaming smile appearing on his face. "My, my. If it isn’t Lady Yifei. What an honor to have you grace us with your presence," he said in a way that made it obvious he was being sarcastic. "Yes, I was stalking you. I got so good at stalking you that I came here half a day before even you knew you were coming. Or, wait. Maybe it’s the other way around. Maybe you are the one stalking me. Is that true, Lady Yifei?"
Yifei scoffed at his words and turned toward the platform.
"What’s this test?" she asked him.
"Suppression test," the man answered her.
"Another one? How many of these are there?" the woman said with a frown. "I feel like most of the ones I go to are just some variation of a suppression test."
"If you are feeling afraid, you can leave," the man said. "I have unfortunately already registered, but you still have time."
The woman, in an obvious show of opposition, flew down to a rock even lower than Fang Xianhai’s and sat down. "I will take part in this test as well. We’ll see who wins this."
"Oh? A competition, is it?" the man asked with a gleeful voice. "I accept."
With two of the strongest cultivators of the younger generation agreeing to compete against each other, the ones gathered around began growing ecstatic to see the battle between the two.
Alex scratched his chin in thought, very much focused on the woman who had just arrived.
"You’re peeping too much, Father," Ronron said. "She’ll find out."
"Oh? Did a girl finally enter my son’s eyes?" Helen joked.
Alex slowly shook his head. "He said Yifei, didn’t he? Then that means this is Han Yifei, right?"
Ronron looked back and nodded. "It seems so."
Alex held a thoughtful look. "Then who was it that we met back then?"
The woman who had been with Han Zhaofeng, who had gotten to the center of the test platform before him and taken the Dream-Seeking Chalice, had been who they had thought was Han Yifei. But it seemed she was not.
That wouldn’t have mattered much if not for the fact that the woman was even stronger than Alex. Someone who was so strong and yet wasn’t well known among the younger generation of the family? Something wasn’t right.
Ronron couldn’t think of a name, so she was unsure as well.
Alex wanted to ask the woman, but he decided to leave her alone, since it wasn’t such an important question. More than that, he didn’t want to bring attention to himself or the women around him. So, he stayed with the somewhat curious thought, letting it pass by.
As the sun rolled out on the eastern horizon, there were only three people left inside the platform, all struggling to remain upright. One collapsed right away, and over the next three hours, the other two fell as well.
Finally, their test was over.
Which meant it was Alex’s turn next.
