Chapter 3693: A Week Later
Chapter 3693: A Week Later
Alex and the rest made their way through a few yellow and green spots before making their way to the red ones.
As they did so, an understanding of the overall structure of the colors came through to them.
Green spots were the easiest of all to find stars in. The trials themselves required the cultivators to do barely anything more than nothing.
The first one Alex and the rest had been to required them to find rocks within which the stars were hidden. Another one they had been to required them to do nothing but be the first one to blow out a candle that was closest to them.
It was all easy trials one after another, requiring no registration whatsoever. However, because of that very reason, there were also very limited ways to earn a lot of stars.
The yellow spots were a step above the green in terms of a mixture of difficulty and stars that could be earned from them.
They boasted some of the highest stars given out in general, and anyone could register to take part in those trials. However, the trials took place one at a time, so not everyone could wait around for their turn.
They were also surprisingly difficult for the average cultivator, requiring certain strengths in various aspects of cultivation.
The stone guardian required one to be in the Immortal Spirit realm. The many-handed puppet required someone to understand teleportation aura to a great degree.
Compared to that, the red spots were entirely different.
The red spots allowed many people to join at once and take part in the trials at the same time. They could also earn stars without needing to be all that great, but if one was great, they could get more than just stars from them.
As Alex had received his map from the red spot, the other red spots would likely also give out rewards, but only if someone performed exceptionally well.
The lower star reward it gave and its restrictions on who or how many could join were downsides, but it was consistently active, with a large throughput of cultivators.
It was a guaranteed way to make some stars compared to everything else, since it tested just the person who joined it.
Within the first week, Alex and his group had been through eight different red spots, two of which turned out to be repeats of another.
They went through another maze, where this time they waited for it to reset before going in, so they found a lot more stars. The other test they went through was a defense trial, where one was bombarded with attacks from all sides and forced to bear it for as long as they could, while the attacks continued to grow stronger.
Sadly, only people under the Immortal Transcendent realm could join this trial, so Alex and Battlesage weren’t allowed to.
Liz did the best of the group with her higher cultivation base and understanding of Time aura. But it was not the best anyone could do. Only someone at the Immortal Origin 9th realm with high battle power could possibly get the best result in that trial.
Alex had wanted to participate in it too, but he supposed it was understandable that stronger cultivators weren’t allowed.
After the first week, they made their way down south, heading toward the eastern side to check through everything that was in that region before moving to other regions. After choosing the red spot they were going to, they arrived before it minutes later.
It was another large platform, not dissimilar to the spirit root one they had been to a week ago. In fact, it looked practically the same, to the point that Alex wondered if they had found the third repeat trial.
However, when they arrived before it, it became clear from the emptiness atop the platform and a barrier around it, that it was entirely different. Once they landed, they found an empty location and watched, waiting for their stars to register.
Alex looked around and was surprised to find a man far away, looking through a scroll. From his angle, Alex could read the name on the map.
It was another Map of the Red.
"There’s more than one, it seems," he said, gesturing toward the man who held the map.
The group turned to find a young man in ashen gray robes with stark blue lining standing before the platform with the map. He pointed at the map and spoke in a whisper that was impossible for anyone to hear.
Alex looked beyond him and saw a young woman in similar robes standing next to him with an expressionless face, nodding simply. The two of them looked quite similar to each other, to the point that Alex could believe they were siblings.
"Those are the Han Family robes," Ronron said as she turned. "He must be one of the Han Family young masters."
"Han Family?" Alex asked, trying to remember. "Is this the one that uses staff?"
"From the Broken Spear Valley, yes," Ronron added. "If I remember correctly, they have three talented juniors. Han Zhaofeng, Han Yifei, and Han Chixiao. I wonder if this is one of them."
"You don’t know their faces, huh?" Alex asked.
Ronron shrugged. "I don’t deal with them all that much. Since Master deals with gods and sages more than the sects and clans, I know them more than anyone else," Ronron said.
Alex nodded slowly and looked around. "Anyone else important here?"
Ronron looked around and pointed a few out. She didn’t recognize any people, but members of the Seven Pillars did stick out quite a bit. She also gave a few names such as the Cloudsea Sword Sect, Nine Serpent Poison Sect, and the Silent Night Hall.
Other than that, she could not point out anyone else.
Suddenly, Alex felt the star in his Soul Space vibrate a little as it was registered. Everyone stirred at the same time as many of them registered as well.
An illusory male figure with blurred details appeared atop the platform at the same time with his hands behind his back.
"Welcome to all. We shall begin the trial now."
