Eroge: I can Travel To The Ancient World

Chapter 336: Magic Spell: Blazing Spear Rain

Chapter 336: Magic Spell: Blazing Spear Rain

The bandit leader’s breath came rough and heavy as he watched from the treeline shadows. His scarred face stayed cold on the outside, but inside his gut twisted like a knife.

"This brat... he’s no ordinary traveler. From the moment he stepped out, and that girl crashed into him, something felt off. Years of my instinct, that brat is really an anomaly, And, now he’s tearing through my men like they’re made of dry twigs."

He had already given the silent hand signal earlier. The two archers hidden deeper in the dark were pros. The violet internal qi made assassins and marksmen deadly.

That qi sharpened their eyes, steadied their hands, let them feel the wind and heartbeats of prey from fifty meters away. They never missed.

Yet this kid had already slapped their first volley out of the air with nothing but bare hands and some weird wind trick.

Impossible. Violet qi arrows should’ve punched through a Profound Awakening cultivator’s guard. Who the hell is this bastard?

"Kill him! No need to care about that girl! Kill that bastard first!" the leader barked, but his voice cracked just a little at the end.

Jia Hao didn’t even look back at the girl he’d shoved behind a tree. He cracked his neck, eyes flashing with that dangerous glint that always came before a massacre. "Crimson Frenzy Blade Arts."

The saber in his hand ignited with manifested killing intent. Jia Hao stepped forward and the world around him blurred into a storm of blades.

Scarlet Blade Storm. The air itself screamed as crescent after crimson crescent erupted outward. Two of the remaining grunts barely had time to raise their weapons before they were sliced into chunks. Blood sprayed in hot arcs. One man’s torso spun away from his legs and landed with a wet slap against a boulder.

"Shit-!" another grunt screamed, trying to backpedal.

Alas, Jia Hao’s storm caught him mid-turn and turned him into red mist and flying limbs.

The leader’s eyes shrank to pinpoints. Jia Hao’s footworks are as good as his saber technique!

Jia Hao was already on him, saber raised high for a cleaving strike that would split a man from crown to crotch. The leader’s body moved on pure survival instinct.

He twisted hard, showing his back at the last instant. Steel rang against steel with a deafening CLANG! that shook the trees. The force blasted the leader backward a full dozen meters.

His boots carved deep trenches in the dirt before he skidded to a stop, spear braced behind him like a shield.

Jia Hao landed lightly, saber still humming with residual scarlet qi. He actually looked impressed for half a second. "Not bad. Quick thinking, old man. Most people would’ve tried to block head-on and gotten their skull split."

The leader ripped his spear free and spun it once, blue qi flaring along the shaft. His face was stone, but sweat already beaded on his brow. "Brat... leave now. Take the girl and walk away. This doesn’t concern you."

Jia Hao snorted, wiping a speck of blood off his cheek with the back of his hand. "Heard that line already. You said it when your men first charged. Yet here I am—still standing. Still breathing. Still about to fuck up your whole night."

The leader didn’t waste breath on another threat. He exploded forward instead, spear thrusting like a thunderbolt. "Gate Breaking Thrust!"

Blue qi concentrated at the tip into a spiraling drill of force. The air itself warped around the strike. Trees bent. Leaves shredded. The momentum alone could cave in a boulder.

Jia Hao met it head-on with pure physical strength. No internal energy of Golden Arhat Vajra Body Arts, just raw power. His saber swung in a blazing arc. "Frenzied Slash!"

Flames erupted along the blade edge as metal kissed metal. BOOM! The collision sent shockwaves rippling outward. They traded three rapid exchanges in the space of a breath!

Thrust, parry, counter, thrust again. Sparks flew. Qi clashed in violent bursts of blue and scarlet. Each impact made the ground tremble.

He’s... still matching me? No— The leader’s eyes widened in genuine horror as he felt the feedback through his spear.

He’s holding back. This kid is toying with me. His strength is definitely is already at the peak of Profound Awakening... maybe higher. If he gets serious—

Jia Hao’s lips curved into that cocky half-smirk. He was about to press the advantage, saber already reversing for a diagonal cut that would take the leader’s head—

Thwip! Thwip!

Two more arrows came screaming from the darkness, this time pulsing with concentrated violet qi. They moved faster than before, almost invisible, aimed straight at Jia Hao’s spine and temple.

"Fucking hell! Meddling in a man’s fight again?" Jia Hao snorted, twisting mid-motion. His saber flashed sideways in a casual backhand.

Both arrows shattered into splinters against the flat of the blade. Violet qi dispersed harmlessly into the night air.

He didn’t even look annoyed—just mildly pissed, like someone had interrupted his favorite meal. "Divine Sage’s Eyes."

The world sharpened. Every leaf, every shadow, every twitch of muscle stood out in crystal clarity. In less than a heartbeat, he pinpointed the two archers; one crouched on a thick branch twenty meters left, the other flat on a rise behind a cluster of rocks to the right.

"Gold element... let’s make this quick."

Golden energy condensed in his free hand, forming two sharp darts. He added a swirl of wind qi around them. The darts buzzed like angry hornets, vibrating so fast they left afterimages.

The archers felt it instantly—their danger instincts screaming.

They tried to roll away, to use their violet qi for one last burst of speed.

Too late.

Shunk! Shunk!

The golden darts punched through the air with a high-pitched zeeeet and buried themselves deep. One archer took it through the shoulder; the other through the thigh. Both darts detonated on impact.

Flesh and violet qi exploded outward in wet bursts. One man toppled from his branch with a strangled scream, leg half gone. The other collapsed behind the rocks, clutching a ruined arm, violet qi flickering out like a dying candle.

"Two down," Jia Hao muttered, already turning back to the leader. "Now where were we—"

He didn’t get to finish.

The bandit leader had used the exact moment of distraction. He leapt high into the air, spear raised overhead. Flames combusted violently around the weapon, turning it into a pillar of molten fire. His face twisted with desperate resolve.

"You forced my hand, brat!"

He began chanting under his breath, low, guttural words that made the air itself grow heavy. A complex magic diagram flared into existence beneath his feet, spinning with runes of fire and blood. The spear in his hands dissolved into pure flame.

" Blazing Spear Rain!"

In the next instant, nine massive spears of condensed molten flame materialized around him, each one three meters long and radiating killing heat.

They hovered for a split second, tips glowing white-hot, then all nine shot downward toward Jia Hao like falling stars.

The girl behind the tree gasped, hands flying to her mouth. Even from a distance, the heat washed over her skin.

Jia Hao looked up at the incoming barrage, saber still in hand, and actually grinned.

" How interesting. A magic technique executed by a martial artist."
