The maid looked around and spoke again, " The west gate is the better path to escape, Young Lady. How about we go there and wait? I believe Prince Li Yuan will contact us there."

As time passed, the evening arrived. The west gate was crowded. The guards were checking everyone who were coming inside the city. However, barely one or two person managed to go out.
The city guards also walked around, trying to find the whereabouts of Lian Luoqiu.
As Lian Luoqiu stayed in the tavern, her maid came rushing from outside.
" Young Miss, please hurry up. Prince Li managed to get you out. Come to the west gate."
Hearing the maid, Lian Luoqiu got up hurriedly, " Thank goodness. I felt so stuck here. Everyone, prepare for departure."
Reaching the city gate, the guards blocked them instantly. However, the maid leaned forward, whispering something. The captain was surprised as he nodded.
" Please, come here. This is a secondary gate that remains close always. With this, you can go outside easily." The captain explained.
" Also, it’s really too crowdy right now. So, you need to go there for haste."
" Thank you," Lian Luoqiu nodded as she threw a money pouch to the guard. The guard gave a greedy smile and showed them the way out.
Not long after, Lian Luoqiu and her entourage saw a few guards standing in a secluded spot. Seeing them, Lian Luoqiu’s eyes lit up.
" Here! I am here!" Lian Luoqiu shouted as she got down from her horse. " Old Chengzi! Did Prince Yuan sent you?"
" Greetings, Lady Lian." Old Chengzi cupped his fist, " Indeed, Prince Yuan has sent us here to help you out."
It was the same old man who stood behind Li Yuan and attacked Jia Hao.
" What’s there to help me? Shouldn’t he pressure that bitch and her husband?" Lian Luoqiu felt unhappy, but the guard’s expression didn’t change.
" Miss Lian, you don’t need to worry about that. For now, Prince Yuan asked me to take care of you." Old Chengzi nodded as the guards behind him moved.
" What do you mean by that?"
Suddenly, Lian Luoqiu felt a dangerous premonition. However, before she could react, her maid pushed her to the side.

A dagger pierced her heart, making the maid fall on the ground. The soldiers behind Old Chengzi moved as they instantly killed Lian Luoqiu’s guards.
" Prince Yuan is grateful for all your support so far. Please, don’t struggle. I will be fast." Old Chengzi moved his staff as a beam of purple radiance emerged.
" YOU FUCKING TRAITOR!"
Lian Luoqiu screamed as the beam hit her. However, Old Chengzi’s expression changed when he saw that Lian Luoqiu had disappeared from her position.

" Hurry up and chase after her!" Old Cheng Zi roared, making the guards rush after Lian Luoqiu.
Old Chengzi was about to chase, but his expression changed in an instant as he raised his staff.

Jia Hao didn’t bother as he raised his saber. His eyes gleamed with murderous light as he disappeared from his position.

A crimson arc of saber qi erupted, crashing down on Old Chengzi.

Old Chengzi made his move as a pitch black claw manifested in the air, clenching the incoming saber strike. As the claw easily blocked the saber attack, Jia Hao made his move again.
With the Fading Moon Steps, Jia Hao’s figure was like a ghost moving through the darkness, swinging the saber to attack the vital points of Old Chengzi.
The ground cracked as the saber qi tore through the soil, leaving behind deep, gushing marks.
Old Chengzi didn’t neglect either as he swung his staff. Within an instant, a dozen daggers emerged around him, each pulsing with dark radiance.

Jia Hao’s eyes remained calm as his saber turned into a mirage. Within an instant, he intercepted the path of the daggers, blocking them swiftly.

His fist shone with a golden light as Jia Hao punched the spleen of Old Chengzi.
